Its really weird watching this so many years later, jade was not sure of continuing elite, was only a level 10 gymnasts a few months prior and then ended up becoming an olympic champion in 2021, vanessa ferrari had a tremendous injury and was already being counted out even before that injury for her age and placements, yet she was able to get a silver in tokyo after being fourth in london and rio, the gold, silver, and bronze medalists in tokyo floor final were in this final, but no one got the same placement.
And one other- Rebecca Andrade who tore her acl at this event. Vault champ and AA silver medalist in Tokyo!
They made a mistake when the commentators said that Claudia Fragapane won her 1st World medal. This is her 2nd World medal actually, following the 2015 World Bronze medal in the team event. I think they meant to say that this is Claudia's 1st individual World medal.

Did you notice that when Claudia was stood in front of the big screen in the beginning, the screen said that she was on the great British team that won a bronze medal in the Rio Olympics in the team final. that was a mistake as well cuz GB got 5th.

Jade Carey did NOT give away the gold medal on vault finals; she was robbed. Paseka was extremely over scored on her first vault. Her first vault was absolutely horrible and there is no way she should have gotten just under a 9 execution for that. It was infuriating.
Actually just under a 9 is a pretty awful execution score nowadays lol

@@josephqualtier961 i’m talking about execution scores in general. above a 9.0 E is great nowadays; it used to be below average. the best vaulters in the world used to all get 9+. not so much anymore, blame the code /hj
@@thecreativegeek7886 it’s really been this way for a while now, for a couple codes. Jordan scored a 9.5 E score on her double twist, pretty comparable to even the rio quad scoring.
Best gold at these games. Poor Vane on the other hand.

@@alissonsilva-mr1kg you can feel however you want. The reality is, execution and start value both matter. Here, she didn’t have enough of EITHER- period. It’s amazing how caustic and hateful gymnastics fans are when their preferred gymnasts don’t get what they feel they should.

Jade’s difficulty score was a little lower than Mai’s- that was the difference. Jade got the gold that really mattered though!

Agreed. I didn't see no more than 1.100 in deductions, but again, I'm not a judge.
Anna Pavfan I think the deductions came from most of her dance elements because her tumbling is fantastic. legs were slightly below horizontal on leaps (and turn)
Yes the new COP is really putting heavy deductions on artistry and skills ..i mean mai got a 8.333 for her amazing form , and brooklyn moors got a 8.5 and her choero is gorgeous but her form sucks no offense ..so they are really pushing to improve artistry ...for example jade would have won if she had better chieri and cleaner dance skills like leaps and stuff ..but hey mai still won, very well deserved

Claudia- Powerfull acrobatics, but very much mistakes.

Watching this now it’s wonderful to think of those who were close that came away with a medal in Tokyo this year- Jade with a gold, Vanessa with a silver (finally!) in her swan song, Mai with a bronze in her last Olympics.

What happened to 🇮🇹 Italian Artistic Gymnast, Vanessa Ferrari hits her knees into the ground on her Floor Exercise during 2017 Montreal, Quebec, Canada World Artistic Gymnastics Championships?
She tore her achilles tendon on landing. She came back from it to earn an Olympic silver in Tokyo though!
