    Very cool, Alison! Another way I've found that works for molds is to put some clay through the pasta machine on a thin setting. Put that thin sheet into the mold, and press it in gently, and cut off all the excess clay on top. Then, roll up the excess clay, and fill in the mold with the thin sheet touching the detailed parts. The thin sheet basically becomes a lining.

    The molds are spectacular! I noticed you said two-part epoxy resin but didn’t mention UV resin. Does UV resin not work in the molds and if so, do you know why? Also, can you use liquid clay like liquid Sculpey or the Lucy Clay stuff in these molds (understanding that it may use a lot depending on the size and depth of the mold).

      @ThinkingOutsideTheBox  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Anne gredler When using UV Resin you need a clear or transparent mold for the uv resin to cure properly. You could do a thin layer of uv resin but that’s really about it.
      You definitely can use liquid polymer clay with these molds. If using Glassymer, I would do in two layers, curing one at a time for the best outcome. 😊

    Hi! I adore your channel! I am also absolutely obsessed with zuri molds and I'm eagerly awaiting my newest additions. (Elven horse and loveable bugs) I have been using hearty ultralight clay or my own diy cold porcelain clay.. I like them both but each has its pros and cons. I am also awaiting some amazing cast resin specially for use with the bugs.. However, I truly enjoy the feel of clay.. There is something soothing about the process and I like the less toxic option as opposed to resin, as well. BUT, my poor hands are definitely complaining. So, I'm wondering about polymer clay and this is probably silly, but once you have conditioned it, how long does it stay workable? Does it stay pliable long or do you have to continue repeating the conditioning process a lot? I do have a bit to play with but Im truly shocked by how much effort it takes to get it ready.
