    Thanks for the review. I still have an old pancake compressor. No problems at all. Bought it from Orange Blossom Hobbies, in Miami, FL, before the store closed. Charlie, one of the sales persons advice me that if I were to take care of it, it would last a lifetime. That was back in the mid 90s. He was correct. What impresses me the most about it is that it uses a refrigerator compressor. Yes, those silent compressors. You can barely hear it when it comes on. Thanks for the video. Happy Modeling!

    I luckily live near Badger. I bought a factory refurbished one, then changed the switch to an illuminated rocker on top. I love this compressor, fair priced too. I plastic tubed mine to a small regulator/filter on my bench with a 0-30 psi guage.
    Great video, you helped me avoid $$$ competitors.

    Love the TC-910 as a matter of fact I have 2 of them that I use. One in my shop & other one is my hobby room inside my house. This thing is pretty quiet & it does the job when airbrushing model kits. Yea 700 is a lot to spend on an Iwata or other ones, but Badger is a great name & they stand behind their product & that is what counts in my book.

    Thanks for a great review. I had a hard time finding the on/off switch, which was on the side of the unit, but your advice was very valuable. Any review should assume the person knows nothing about the unit. More information about selecting the desired working psi would be helpful. Thanks again, this was one of the best reviews I found.

    Thinking of purchasing a used, older model of this compressor, but very much appreciated your detailed review.

    Is there much maintenance with this unit ? This is an oil-less unit right ?
    I was given a badger 380-11 silent I - and wanted to learn airbrushing, but never got around to seeing if the 380-11 even worked. I did clean out the tank and it was full of gunk and condensation with some oil and called badger for help, but they said it would cost more to replace parts than to buy a new compressor so I was thinking of buying this one you are reviewing. I guess I can part out mine and see if that helps me get some extra cash for new equipment to start learning the airbrush hobby.
    Thanks for your review, very informative.

    Good review. I think you sold me on it. I saw it at Micheals as well and my wife gave me a 50% off coupon. Thank you for the review and now I can know I am getting a good product now.

      Davor Mackovic my fiancé did the same. I ended up using a 60% coupon from micheals exclusive to thier members. I got this one for 156.00 with tax. so far so good.

      This year, Michaels has been offering 50% off coupons on a frequent basis, and that's fantastic for anyone buying a Badger compressor. In 2015, when I bought my compressor, high value coupons were _extremely_ rare!
      FWIW, the Badger compressors sold today are exactly the same as the version I reviewed. Most other TH-cam or print reviews are of older versions, which differed significantly.

      Rob Bye I just bought one from Michael's as well. I opened it up and it looks to be an old version from ur description. is the quality on the old ones bad? Or are these just more convenience changes in the version you have?

    Would of been cool if we could of actually heard the motor working to see how noisy/quiet it is.

    • @RobByeArmourinScale
      @RobByeArmourinScale  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, I did consider that. Too many variables make it difficult to quantify the sound level - the type of microphone being used, room acoustics, and other factors all have an influence. After using the compressor all this time, I can say it is quiet for a machine of its type, but not as quiet as something like a much more expensive medical/dental compressor. Thanks for watching.

    When you replaced the pressure gauge, do you remember if the gauge has a 1/4" NPT mount?

    Only thing about the badger air compressor is that you never turned it on so then we could hear for ourselves how loud or how quiet it is

    Your review was the best of more than thirty I have viewed so far and has seriously influenced my purchasing decision. I have been using a Husky compressor that I use for shop purposes and inside my home it’s just too loud and jarring every time it kicks in! I decided to relegate the Husky to furnace filter cleaning and air nailing jobs.
    I will get this unit for my model airbrushing. Thanks

    since this is the most recent review of the tc910 i could find. the one thing i wanted to know, that you didnt cover, is how the water catch performs. i have a reliable grex compressor, but the water catch stops working after about and hour of use. i want to upgrade to a set-up like the tc910, but first i want to know how it performs with moderate to extended use. for example, i dont want it to start spitting water while im in the middle of trying to do tiny highlights on 30mm scale minis if ive been using it for 2-3 hours.

    • @RobByeArmourinScale
      @RobByeArmourinScale  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's difficult for me to answer, as I live in an extremely dry environment. I have only seen minute traces of moisture when draining the air tank, and I've never seen any signs of moisture in the trap. What little humidity we get here seems adequately dealt with by the tank alone. Of course, your circumstances are likely to be different.

    • @wyattturk4508
      @wyattturk4508 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Actually that answers quite a lot. I also live in a fairly dry environment. So knowing that it performs that way for you, means it'll most likely perform that way for me. Thanks!

    Any additional fittings required for a Iwata Eclipse?

  • @bobafett2243

    Where did you order your 60 psi/4 bar gauge from and the part number? I have to install the regulator/water trap on mine. I put teflon tape on the threads, but after it is tightened, it is completely sideways. Anyone have this problem and solution please? Couple days later, I called Badger. I was able to put a 14 mm deep well socket on the hose connection fitting and tighten the regulator carefully into the correct position.

    hi Rob i just bought one of these, as ive notice its missing the pressure sensor switch thats located on the other side of pressure release vavle. Am I missing something? or should return this product and request a refund?

    • @RobByeArmourinScale
      @RobByeArmourinScale  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's possible the design has evolved further, since I bought my compressor last year. I wonder, if I were to buy one today, how different would it be from the one I own? You surely must have a pressure sensor switch, otherwise the motor would never shut off. Possibly the sensor has been relocated to a different spot on your compressor, or you may actually have an older version.

  • @billwelch2842

    After using it for 11 months do you have any new thoughts on this compressor?

    • @RobByeArmourinScale
      @RobByeArmourinScale  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I certainly have no regrets about buying it. While I'm painting, the compressor sits less than a metre away from me, and the sound isn't bothersome. If anything, it has gotten quieter with use. I had all kinds of fun ideas how to reduce a compressor's sound output, but with this Badger, I've never felt the slightest need to implement any of them. Great compressor.
