When I lived in San Sebastián, my flat was in the Old Part and my school was in a suburb. I used to walk around the bay to work every day. In the summer I actually sometimes waded through the sea as the tide came in. (I can’t remember if I left trousers and shoes at work or carried them.) It was so nice.
Wow I really enjoyed the video. And I must say it was lovely because you both explained about the food and the drinks. And around Spain the buildings the bridges and everything else.so thank you ever so much.😊😊
I enjoyed your latest video day one and day two. Absolutely amazing! I love the pastries. Yum! And the river crossing. I’ve never seen anything like that before. Thank you and be safe. Blessings and hugs.
Love the low stress tour of the world with time to explore each port, versus the rush pace that most cruises have -- where it is excursion focused or rush to do the next thing. Keep enjoying life!
@@dlgregory35 I don't know about Steve and Angela but for me I'm always interested in other people's lives and seeing a Spanish supermarket or a German one or a French one is fascinating! I love learning about other people.. for me it's not about the food it's about curiosity and joy in life.
This was wonderful. Liked the little shops ya'll stop into. The little statues are hilarious. Nice to see grocery stores. Thanks for the adventures. Can't wait for the next one.
Hi from Ireland, Ive been following your journey for a while, so great to finally see you relaxed and enjoying the start of this amazing adventure. I was in Bilbao in 2023 on a Disney cruise , really interesting to see it in a different time of year, the day I was there it was blue skies and sunshine. You seem to be docked at a different part of Getxo, we were in the cruise terminal, and Disney provided a free bus from the ship into the city centre. I loved walking around the old town and yes the pastry shops are amazing.
I'm thrilled at your new life. The ship is your home. Wherever it takes you is your new adventure. I did a few years on submarines... the boat was my home. It was this magical TARDIS that took us to new ports. Each port is a grand adventure. And on the plus side, you get to see it as yiu approach. For me, we would pop the hatch, go topside and look around, wondering what it was like each time. Here's to yests of adventure! ❤❤❤❤
Hi friends!! I’m glad you got 2 days in the same port so you can take your time exploring and don’t have to rush to see everything! Those statues 😂 stocking stuffers for sure or not! Food looked so good there! That’s great that they kept some of the original structures and built new buildings around it! Looks like you’re off to a great start!
I thoroughly enjoyed your tour! This is a part of Spain that I've never even thought about and you two showed some of the best parts. I'm looking forward to your next port, and the one after that, and the one after that...... Enjoy!
I joining your experience - the lavatory ‘statues’ were hilarious but it was interesting to learn the ‘meaning’ behind them. The swinging bridge was mind blowing and the vernacular was great. Thank you for sharing.
I was late joining this group, but am loving it as we cruise along ourselves. We are doing a world cruise from Australia in 2026 and I would love to know how to get from the ports to town and if you do tours or your own thing in ports... Enjoy regards Theresa...
Enjoyed the video, glad your adventure has started. What wonderful ports! What I love about Europe is that every town has such of a rich history and even those "not on the map" are spectacular. Looking forward to the next installment! 😀
Who lives in those amazing mansions? No humble port town, this. Lol your two day vlog was lovely. I really felt like I was there, to the degree this allows. I am a big art/architecture fan so I really appreciated seeing the original facades are being kept as much as possible. More than anything else, Gaudi’s architecture blew me away in Barcelona. I could easily spend a week there just strolling along his streets. Glad you’re taking all modes of transportation in these towns. I particularly love funiculars! Keep enjoying and thanks so much for sharing.
Thanks so much for sharing your adventures! I look forward to your videos and your positive energy. Loved the boat graphic in the beginning showing your path from Brest to Bilbao. Keep up the great work and enjoy your time together.
Lovely video and great tour. Last month we visited San Sebastián in Basque region and had wonderful pinxos. Writing from post hurricane Milton. Just got internet and power back. Really tough storm but will be ok. Thanks for thinking of us.
Thank you for excellent journey. Spur of the moment we are flying to Europe and wondering around the cities thank you for the inspiration . Hope your home and family are safe
Ooo… that’s such an amazing place!! The buildings and architecture are spectacular. Thanks for bringing us along. I LOVE all the food shown 😂. I would have loved that latte! You guys walk so much you can afford to try out all the sugary stuff 🤣. I love the poopy figurine shop - yeah, I like weird things 😂. I would have bought the pooping Snoopy! The best part of VV lifestyle is you don’t have to queue for hours to disembark or board the ship! I’ve seen some cruise videos where people wait for hours because of the huge number of passengers 😮. That would have put me off leaving the ship to go exploring and I’d just end up vegetating in my room 😂. Hope you have a great day! ❤❤
What a perfect first port video, very professional and just the right amount of time on the scans! Wish I could have done my World Cruise blog in 2009 with video, but bandwidth and electronics weren't ready yet, so had to do 35 to 50 stills a day! Yes! I have never been outside of Australia and it's great to see so many "every day" local things. It's the sort of thing that really interests me!
We love looking at grocery stores all over!
Great to hear...
Why even show grocery stores does the ship not feed them? Cruise lines get all their stores at a far lower prices than people who visit supermarkets.
