Yeah, I wish Taki had a written tutorial to go alongside the video, also, I feel like his tutorial is outdated since he’s using that prototype instead of the version we’re all getting the clutter in the back i’m not sure what to do with because his version doesn’t have that, i’m gonna pretty much do how you did here.
You can cut the half part which covers the battery metal sheet. That should fix the gap. i have stock shell and it was happening with me too. Cutting that fixed it. I think Taki will be modifying that and all future ones will come like that.
I too ordered HDMI but then got my order swapped with normal one. Got mine yesterday and wow, screen is amazing. Now I wish I would have just waited and got the HDMI ones.
I was having the most trouble putting the screen ribbon cable in I ended up breaking off the bale latch, is that part completely necessary or am I able to continue without it? I was mostly following Taki’s video but he always blocks the camera with his hand when he’s doing something delicate so I wasn’t sure what method to use or what direction to lift the latch.

Glad you got one, I wish I hadn’t paid extra for the HDMI version, I wanted to have this before I go back to Japan next year.
Hopefully the hdmi one isn’t too far behind

The screen fitment in the corners is kind of janky looking

Yeah you need that to lock the ribbon cable in but sometimes you can pop the latch back in if it’s still in one piece
