It is a pity that this song did not get the airplay and recognition that is deserves - when it came out it was only available as a download from the Legacy Website and a donation was requested. A great tribute to the men and women of the fighting services. thanks for for posting.
2GB is fantastic. We've now got MTR1377 in Melbourne, which is off to a slow start but seems to have a steady audience coming across from ABC and 3AW. You would have enjoyed being at a dinner the boys and I went to before Christmas. The guest of honour was Sam Kekovich who gave an address ... very funny and uproariously un-PC.
0:10 fighting wars a world away that has nothing to do with Australia for a higher power It’s such a tradition that when Australia gained independence it fought not 1 but 2 wars for the British Empire
Australia Day 2012 was a dark day in Australia's proud history. It was the day where the Prime Minister at the time Julia Gillard abused her power by getting some of her employees from her office to make false accusations about the Opposition Leader Tony Abbott being racist to the Aboriginal protesters. That directly led to the Australia Day riots. It was a shameful day that day, that was a result of the actions of the most corrupt Prime Minister in Australia's history, which was Julia Gillard. This song is a great song, and a song that Julia Gillard & the Aboriginal protesters don't stand for.
Kurt Flahavin maybe that’s because the indigenous people were here before we were, and we invaded their land, and called the land terra nullius which means “no man’s land” which isn’t true because they were already here. I’m not saying I’m not proud to be Australian, but it’s understandable that some indigenous Australians don’t stand for this song. They’ve been treated extremely poorly by white people, and I don’t blame them for how they feel. Unfortunately a lot of people are racist to the first people’s Of Australia, so Julia Gillard was correct. I mean the government took away children from their families, took their land away... they have been incredibly disrespectful of indigenous people.
