ABOUT COME TRUE:
High school student Sarah is at her lowest point yet when she runs away from home and finds herself with no one to rely on and struggling with recurring nightmares. She chances upon a university sleep study that offers the promise of safety and money and brings her an unexpected friend and confidant in the overseeing scientist Jeremy. But there’s something curious about proceedings and being under observation seems to make Sarah’s disturbing dreams even worse. @@user-zf9wq9gn6e Hi, im still trying to work that out but i can tell you this : all the stuff when she is sleeping in a park, avoiding her mum, going to school, talking with her friend & even joining the sleep study group was real, at some point during her many seizures while at the sleep group is what put her into a coma, there is about 5 points in the movie that could have been the moment,
the reasons for it : the theory is that she was abused, maybe by a step dad, the mum allowed it to happen ( or ignored it was happening ) this is why she cant sleep in the house, why she cant bare to see her mum, the shadow man in her dreams is the abuser, & she is suppressing it,n when she saw a image of the shadow man she had a seizure, then while having sex with biff it brought forward her supressed fears, she saw the shadow man irl while having sex & it caused her to go catatonic ( this is when i believe she went into a coma)
You don’t know that, that was all real leading up to one of her seizures.
I think She was in a coma the whole movie. And that was all her dreams and the phone at the end was her about to wake up.

Question to people who have watched & enjoyed the movie : at what point did sarah go into a coma ?
options :
1. when after 1st sleep test they are showing sarah images of her dream & when she see's the shadow man she has a seizure
2. while in laundry mat she is talking to her friend & the phone goes dead & then she has a seizure, after a old lady with white eyes tells her some kids stole her phone.
3. while having sex with biff she sees shadow figure & passes out goes catatonic.
4. when sleep walking at end of movie when biff picks up phone she wakes up.
5. she was in a coma the whole time.
Important details :
Without a doubt everything we see regarding sarah sleeping in a park, hiding from mum, at school, talking with her friend AND going to the sleep study group was all real world, at some point due to the study is what causes sarah to go into a coma, as multiple times we see the results of the sleep group causes sarah to have multiple seizures during the movie, 1 of these seizures is what puts sarah into a coma.
the phone seems important, otherwise why would it appear in a field, i believe when she was sleep walking she was walking towards a white door but did not go through as biff picks up phone & answers causing sarah pain & wakes up. they then run away with both biff & female scientist being grabbed or "pulled out"

she went into coma at the very beginning, and everything else was just dream inside a dream like the movie inception. I understood at the very beginning she slipped into the unconscious/subconscious and just spiraled towards it. Remember the odd looking medieval woman in the present day? that was the red flag. Also all the other dreams/simulations that she faced was just the responses to the stimuli they were trying to wake Sarah up with. It was all construct.

To me, it is plausible that she has been in a coma all along. This would explain why we have no explanation of why she doesn't go home and why she sleeps outside, it could symbolize her coma. It would also explain the strangeness of being able to see people's dreams, and the fact that several people see the same black figure. The whole movie was like a dream I could have had.
The CT scanner is a critical scene....I fear Sarah may have suffered an intra-cranial haemorrhage. Before that a recollection of reality & dreams from within a coma? Then in the ending, two new contemporaneous nightmares: - killing the one you love when you realise you are not a vampire, and finally the sadness of your real neurological situation.

at some point in the film she ends up in a coma, due to the sleep study, but it seems the director has put in mutliple times in the movie it could have happened, all the stuff at school, sleeping in a park, avoiding her mother, talking with her friend & joining the sleep study group was all real, but at some point (during the many times we see her have a seizure ) she falls into a coma.
@Deb antonioni Hi, yh i also agree that it was while they had sex, but my comment was really to start a discussion about the "other" times it "could" have happened, i feel the director put multiple scenes in the movie it "could" have happened, each with some evidence to back it up, i did write a better comment regarding on another video, il paste it here in case you wanted to read it, but i also do feel that the sex is what triggered her coma, do you have the same conclusion that it is due to abuse ? it explains why she doesnt want to go home or see her mum, & cant stay in that house, maybe she was abused by a step dad & the mum ignored it or didnt see it ? the shadow man is the abuser she has pushed into the back of her mind, only appearing while she dreams, the sex triggered the memories of abuse, that made her see the shadow man, causing the coma ?

( 2 of the other guys in the group also sated they have been coming to these things since they was 16 & they was friends, an age where a lot of abuse happens in younger people/teens )
( i also noted that a question asked by one of the scientist after the 1st sleep stay over was "do you feel better rested sleeping here or at home" sarahs reply is that she feels better, this shows to me & probs the scientist that she doesnt have a general sleep disorder but 1 that is based on where she is sleeping )
ANYWAY im waffling, great movie i cant stop thinking about & also wish we get a continuation as would like to know that sarah makes it out.

They were trying to woke him up from the coma by a new way which is creating a simulation world for her. So you know about evolution theory and natural selection right? She trapped in that simulation world and her nightmares too much which in the end she evolved to a vampire. Absolutely mind blowing of an ending.
