- I bought this 1983 Yamaha XJ650 Seca TURBO for $1,000.
In this video, I fixed the speedometer howling issue and tried to fix the hard warm starting issue by opening up the air mixture adjustment screws but it didn't fix it. Let me know if you have any ideas down in the comments. Then, by doing normal everyday tasks, I answered the age old question: is the yamaha XJ650 Turbo a Practical Bike? A piece of clear vinyl tubing clamped onto the upper end of the cable and 4 or 5 psi from a hand tire pump makes s handy quick power luber.

Another Awesome video GG! I’d pull the battery warning bulb. That’s not overly expensive but it’s gonna have to run like a wet dream. Trade it for a Vmax or Sabre 1100.
I just put some thin oil down the cable (like you in some sort of funnel) suspended until I see it drip out form the lowest opening.
$4500.00 LOL!!! Might as well shoot for the stars, hahaha.

I wish you'd keep this one. Restore it 100% and do the carbs right. With a sync gauge set, a proper cleaning/rebuilding with a kit, and cleaning/removing all the useless crap that it had to come with.

The price is definitely negotiable, I may lower it too. I kinda want to restore it too so idk, I'm testing the waters.
So what's the verdict, any bites? For as cool as these bikes are, and anyone who has owned one will agree, they don't typically bring any money on the resale market. If you decide to restore it with paint and all that, I hope you are planning on keeping it for yourself. Good luck either way!

You forced oil through the speedo cable and into the speedometer. This doesn't sound like a good idea.
Some one put the turbo on the bike they don't come with the bike 😊
