I’m kinda hoping secretly they release another cyberpunk game/expansion soon… mostly by hiring more people and putting them on Cyberpunk. The expansion/game doesn’t even have to be that big. A little “Cyberpunk VR Experience” or working with one of the VR Mod developers for the game to bring native VR support. I just hope to see something new within a year or 2. New cars would be nice. In my opinion, the worst part about gaming is waiting for that next big release. I can deal with the bugs and glitches… would rather have something then nothin…. Even if it’s tiny.

they do NOT need to add a multiplayer they need to stick to giving us 10/10 amazing single player experiences. matter of fact they need to stay far away from multiplayer
yeah, I hate 3rd person and I hate multiplayer. Game studios (not CDPR) like multiplayer games because they can generate more revenue for years after the game is released through in-game purchases, subscriptions, and downloadable content. Players are more likely to spend money on items in a game because they need to "keep up with the Jones" and not appear "lame" Multiplayer also provide opportunities for social interaction, which can be a significant draw for players. This social aspect can lead to a more dedicated and active player base for many years, leading to more opportunities to make more money.
There's been examples of great single player experiences having good multiplayers without needless corporate greed involved. Ghost of Tsushima, GTA IV, and Uncharted 4 are just a few that come to mind
I agree it doesn't need multiplayer but it would be nice especially on pc. I can picture it already it would be like gta. Then the modding community will come in and make a rp server like they did with gta 5 and gta san andreas. The potential is there and it's good.

I liked the way GTA-V did online play -- it was completely optional, and had zero effect on the single-player game. If CDPR does multiplayer, I hope it's like that.
Cdpr and rockstar are pretty similar in the way the do things. They deliver good quality! Cyberpunk had a bad start, sure, but it's nothing compared to the Tons and Tons of shit ubisoft, ea and many other Studios deliver over the past years.
Cyberpunk 2077 had a multiplayer in development that never made it. One could only imagine what they could have done had they used that resources on the Singleplayer instead.
If the new game is a live service, it's a no for me. I want to be able to play offline, without signing into 5 different launchers and needing a high speed connection just to play my single player game.

3rd person because there's no reason to waste 1 hour or more to make your character and there's no 3rd person cut scenes literally only way to see the hours wasted on is motorcycle or dogwater mirror
@@danielstone2541there are some 3rd party cut scenes and they are very powerful exactly because you do not see yourself from that perspective normally. I love the fact it’s 1st person. The mirrors will certainly be way better next gen, that should be solved by the time the game is released.
Multiplayer? ❌ Co-Op sure why not Single player ✅ The game became amazing because of the amazing story it has, the development of the characters and such. Bringing other genre to a single player story base game could ruin the games reputation.
Optional Co Op , so people can still play it as a single player game before they start making stuff you can't do as solo player. It needs to be optional.
I would at least hope there's coop with up to 4 players. Imagine forming a merc band with your friends and doing gigs. You each have different roles. You have one friend who is hacking away as netrunner, another who is stealthy, one who straight up goes berserk into the fray etc. And of course simply just vibing and cruising around night city with your friends
Because you can just choose not to play it if you don't want to? They even made Skyrim multiplayer. All they need to do is let somebody join your world like in Crackdown, Saints Row 2, Fable 2, GTA San Andreas.

@@DNye Not necessarily.... There were a lot of issues... Simply limiting it to multiplayer isn't logical. I understand the sentiment... But that just goes down to choice rather than fault or ability. The game was being run on their own engine... They used for cyberpunk. Old gen games had the most bugs... Meaning maybe they should've scrapped Old gen entirely. Why not think of that instead of... Oh getting rid of multiplayer is the solution. So no the argument doesn't work for you.
I don't understand why they spent nearly a decade making this world just to make everything over from scratch. I want to live in Night City and be able to enter any building, give me more expansions, more content, more map.
Cyberpunk is the most locked "open world" game CDPR needs to actually play ACTUAL open world games because how is Avatar frontiers of Pandora to the Crew 2 to RDR2 more open than Cyberpunk don't get me wrong I like cyberpunk but I hate fans that think cyberpunk is great like no it's in a great shape only on pc and fans are in denial that mods is what saved cyberpunk because series s port still has bugs and glitches and isn't a stable 60 fps and visible frame drops still happen in pupppytown
Mod the game, is my 4th run and this is first time with mods, is another level. New game+ with choice of starting post-heist (after Jackie incident) with all items you had and if im not wrong you can choose to have same lv and att points. Also one mod that allows to reset the points at any time
Best new from this is Unreal Engine 5. This means that the game will be able to be directly ported to vr which will easily be the best experience for the game imo.
ehhhh Red Engine was better than ue5, which has just become cookie cutter slop and honestly not that great. Plus Unreal props up an asshole who doesn't belong in gaming and let to a serious downgrade in quality with *fortnite*
Night city is truly the main character. We just happen to follow the different stories of legends that come from it. It's truly one of the best cities in gaming. Im glad we get to see more of it.
I’d be fine with some radiate quests that are just repetitive forever to give me something to do. My current save is 130 hours or so and I’ve done everything 😂
One of the things a hated about Cyberpunk was how it made no sense for me to go play any side missions when I could have been doing main missions to save my life!
@@Dreygan-pf5hb oh yes, they did pretty good comparing it to most other games but this is the type of have that needs extensive character customization. I also feel like they cheaped out on clothing design. They have quite a few ok things, she a couple really good things, but so much of it Doesnt work together. Adding simple things like color choices really opens up a lot of creativity.
I completely agree with your opinion on multiplayer. Make it 100% completely optional with absolutely no bearing on the single player experience. That being said, IF it can be done without impacting the overall story, I wouldn't be opposed to having a "crew" you can run with that could be made up completely or partly of friends.
Personally I hope for a separate online mode from the main story were you make your own personal merc ie name,backstory,design,weapons,outfits, and story, being able to meet up with other mercs/real players and forming your own edge runner squad would be awesome
CDPR is going to botch this again. They'll chase all this crap the game doesn't need and not focus on the elements that work for this game. I have $5 they botch it.
The awesome thing is that orion will have 77 as a starting point. 77 is so much fun imo and to know thats where they are starting makes me very excited for the next one!
My guess is that Orion will resemble Phantom Liberty in a lot of ways...it will be an expanded and more detailed environment in Night City, with a new protagonist, a new cast of major NPCs [with some familiar faces mixed in, I hope] and a new story to be told. The fact that we've seen this formula 3 times now [Dogtown was all new, the cast was all new except for V, the story was new, just like Edgerunners] suggests to me it will be used again...maybe be a permanent feature of the franchise. It's possible that The Tower ending of Phantom Liberty will be made canon, and the glimpse of Night City we saw in it, set in 2079, will be the kind of world we encounter in Orion. IMO the CDPR devs have thick notebooks full of plans and ideas for future development...they aren't reinventing the wheel...and this will speed development of the new game. I am thinking the release date could be around December of 2028 or 2029...those just feel right. I have no interest in a multiplayer game...I think it would be a mistake to change the game into something radically different from the format we're all familiar with. I'm not an anime fan, so Edgerunners did not excite me the way the game does, but I'll definitely be interested in new animated stories. Imagine if the rich backstory of some familiar characters was put into reality...Rogue, Wakako, the Padre...maybe the origins of the Aldecaldos and other gangs...there are practically endless possibilities.
Playing the campaign together with a friend would be amazing imo. Kind of like the old Halo games. What I would love to see, that NightCity (or wherever the game will play) includes a faction system. Like you get the option to do missions for a gang (or corp) and eventually join them while, if action is taken against other gangs they despise you and hunt you down. (expand more on the assassins essentially). Also add more Gang-strong-holds and hide outs so that faction-relationship will have more of an impact. Edit: I think Fallout: New Vegas implemented this quite well, would be cool if they take inspiration from that. Always online would be a no go for me.
I hope they will add tons of customization options for your character and a newgame+. Maybe mod support or they could add tons of features that modders wont have to add in
CP 2077 is the best game I've ever played and it doesn't even have a multiplayer option. I also want Orion to either not have it, or have it as a side option because I don't want the next game to become one of the idiotic always-online titles. Hopefully CDPR will not make that mistake...
Let's hope Project Orion implements the most important mods we use that were never in vanilla. Hoping for better AI interactions, better traffic and better vehicle handling.
Sandy, Kereznikov is gonna be trash also, probably gonna make them work like Windfury in WOW or some shit where your character does a few strikes instead of one with the katana for example, but its not gonna be what it is in the main game Cyberpunk does not need multi for sure
If they do multiplayer, don’t change the Sandy or other time slow stuff at all. Just slow EVERYONEs time and force other players to pop their sandy if they want to fight on even footing.
i honestly love how gta does their multiplayer, you can either be a character or go online and i still feel like im playing in the same world and not some online server. i personally am excited to see what the multiplayer has in store but also understand ur perspective because i also love my single player story modes.
Would I love a multiplayer? Absolutely if cyberpunk found a way to be even more replayable with live service online I would fall in love again and again. But cyberpunk is also beautiful and a top 5 for me now

There’s only two things that I want that Cyberpunk 2077 didn’t have: 1. More Main Missions For Act 1 and 2. Third Person Cutscenes (I don’t mind if it’s an FPS, but besides Inventory or riding a motorcycle, I want to see what my character looks and how they look interacting with people from time to time)
I wonder how will they handle the "sequel". Is it gonna be some crazy attempt to account for all the choices made by V in the first game and it will be a direct sequel or will they just tell a different story in a different time or possible different setting? I assume it's the latter, but if it's the former this might be pretty impressive.
I think its more likely they start fresh with a completely new main character and story. As you said, continuing V’s story would force them to somehow account for every possible outcome of the original game. It needs to be entirely possible for V to still be in NC, be in Arizona, be somewhere out there with Johnny’s mind, or be dead. Best way to account for everything is to just take V out of the equation entirely and not involve them in the new story
@@DNyeThey would have to substantially change the map for it to feel fresh and new again, so a one year difference is unlikely. They could do 2079 or 2080 after Arasaka pulls out of the city and Militech takes over, effectively putting the city back under federal jurisdiction. Could be interesting to see how people in a free city-state adjust to living under a dictatorship. Plus, by 2079 V is either dead or just another insignificant citizen of night city, so they wouldnt have to deal with the character at all.

I’m both impressed/amused and angry about Cyberpunk 2077. It is certainly one of the best games I’ve ever played. I mean, its birth has been difficult, it needed further efforts to fix and update it to the point it has become the masterpiece and the reference even for the next gta title. Phantom liberty is well integrated in the game but in the end they decided to abandon it. It’s the typical nonsense that keep occurring in modern day gaming. It’s a shame that after all the efforts to let us live an awesome Night city they abandoned the game before we ever thought… after only one dlc…what a waste. That’s what I hate about video games industry nowadays. I remember we got fallout 3 in 2008 and several dlc… and new Vegas 2 years after. They used to produce more content. Now they produce more graphics just to waste it all. They could do even small activities like introducing new cars and bikes to unlock and sell it. Won’t it be profitable? Won’t it be enjoyable? I’m waiting for the new fallout, the new elder’s scroll, the new mass effect… But I’d better quit to be a fan of these sagas.
I would have liked more Cyberpunk 2077 content but I think they moved on to move efforts to UE5 since that is the new engine all of their games are being made on. And its been 4 years since release so they need to focus on future games more.
I don't care much for multiplayer game modes....I like to play & enjoy I my game with less distractions....Plus the online always to me I'm not a fan of......a good offline single player mode will be epic...... 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
imagine a gta like multiplayer but has a built in faction system thats true to the cyberpunk lore and you could beomce a fixer/ suit and dominate low level players. While low players have to catch any break they can until they make their way to the top. Possibly doing heists/ setting other players up or even betraying them. The potential for chaos is amazing haha
Ew being inferior to other players and having to deal with them!? Nah man I want to have the my character earn their way to the top without relying on others. Cool idea though but would definitely create serious unbalance
@@aneural I’m rewatching edgerunners rn I’m on episode 3. It would be cool if they had like a crew aspect. So you could have a crew of all brawlers, crew of ninjas. Or you can have a balanced crew with one of every build. All while competing for the top statistics and potentially crossing paths as you go about missions in a live action gang war. With some people opting to be NCPD and can level up to be MaxTac users. The potential is so high it’s insane I hope they don’t waste it
@@DNye hey, you get what I'm saying right, everyone played fallout 76 we knew that the only answer to that was instead of slowing down time to speed everything up to real time. Good luck quick hacking in real time, and good luck doing Sandevestian players (like me), You're going to have to be able to think as fast as you're technically supposed to be moving in the game, because everyone else gets to keep their real time so you just have to go faster
i think multiplayer would be sick in the "crew" aspect. as long as it could be some thing thats like. a literal setting or like whats being said a separate kind of side to the game. I wouldn't want them to give up on the quality of the single player experience just to add in a multiplayer feature.
it be neat to see V as said fixer maybe in next cyberpunk sequel if honest with a family, as that make all loosing cyber stuff then working way up to legend fixer be fitting story for V overall while getting there mojo back fighting wise.
I would love that. I like V a lot but it does not make much sense to have his story continue unless you pick up off of a certain ending and take it to a new city.
@@DNye one ending of cyberpunk they could make into cannon which affects next one also V actually getting good ending as cannon would be nice as so far any ending on 2077 isnt cannon per say just diff outcomes. Also V be more side character per say as how i think of it if they was put into next one but have option to say change gender/model of V also if they are side character in next one.
im guessing we get a release around 2029 or 2030, not as long as 2077 took since its got a much better engine and stuff but not super fast since its gonna be a lot bigger than 2077
And with the first game they had to do alot of world building for the game. The had the table top rpg but alot had to be animated. But they are also moving to UE5 so that could make it take longer too.
But many assets could be recycle here... npc's, cars...etc not only that but with the animated series and game, the story telling is much easier to elaborate as is not a new saga...something like the witcher, gta or any other open world saga.

I built my pc for the first time to enjoy cyberpunk 2077 to the fullest... took me about a year to save up the money and purchase all the components... it was so painful to see the state the game was in... but luckily I had no crashes and had fun watching jacky walk through walls and other npc glitching around and try to fight the defence system set on all buildings as a substitute to the missing police not sure if I'll do the same for project orion
Honestly, i just want a 3rd person camera in this game. It's really frustrating that you can customize V in such depth and basically never get to see your character apart from some stills in the menu. It could be like Bethesda's cameras in Starfield, Fallout and Skyrim where you can go between 1st and 3rd person.
Yeah don't get excited. We began hearing about Cyberpunk 2077 development back when Witcher 2 came out and started getting teaser trailers when Witcher 3 came out.
It took a lot of R&D to get the series going so they don’t have to do as much of that this time. The R&D phase took that long and now they are already in pre production. Great sign if you ask me.

I'd like to see actual multiple story arcs of corpo, streetkid and nomad. they might as well not have even included it in the first game but it would be cool to have these separate story lines that you can further influence and change as time goes on
Would also be great if we can also “adam smasher” ourselves. Since we are our separate character, we should be able to make our characters anyway we want.
The online portion checks out because Cyberpunk, 2077 was originally supposed to have an online, whether it be baked into the main game or a separate thing altogether, but they canceled it.
I would be okay with a Max of 8 people for an online play, you go and make a person for it, and you get a world more or less that is just for that group play. the game takes into account how many are in the group and scale the missions to it. then you have the option to play solo and have to make a person for that story line. seems like a good balance if they have the people to make it work.
I think a good way of adding multiplayer to a game like this is how Watchdogs 2 did it. Have a chance for players that are in the same area as you to pair into your game at random and you can choose to play with them or outright ignore them. Have separate multiplayer missions and gigs, and maybe have the option to play main story quests in multiplayer, kinda like Ghost Recon Wildlands I guess.
Not super excited. Been reading they have SBI on board for Orion. I vote with my wallet and don’t support products that are using SBI’s services. Between that and the ESg money they have been taking, I’m not interested.
Where is the source saying that they are using this? I will prob withhold judgment until the game is released, but on the same note we should never pre order games nowadays.

Completely agree. I love my single player RPG experiences. Having online, but keeping like a second game mode is the way. I'm open to multiplayer..Would be neat if they could pull it off! GTA online is fun..but it's too heavily reliant on matchmaking with randoms (if you're not playing with friends that is) It wouldn't be that big of a deal: but kids rarely will stay in the mission if someone fails...then you have to start the mission all over with more random kids. I like the idea of a seamless multiplayer experience; but don't stake my whole experience on whether little, squeaky Timmy has the patience for a retry. It Also bugs me everything is expected to take a stab at a live service these days. The ones doing it well; people are happy to hand over the cash for the extra content. For the games not doing it well; it feels like they've designed the whole game around microtransactions (not fun gameplay) It's insulting spending 60-70 bucks on a game, just to load it up to another hand reached out wanting more money (for the rest of the game)
Both Edgerunners and Cyberpunk 2077 and Phantom Liberty are immersing that I had made my own OC. My OC once worked for Zetatech as a Paper Pusher and Gloria Martinez always cheered him up and reminded him that David looks up to him and he's not much older than David. Then Zetatech made my OC redundant but he Klept their experimental Cyberdeck before he left and David just got his Sandevistan installed and they both joined Maine's Gang and my OC is partnered with Kiwi and learns to become a Netrunner. My OC's name is Antonio Davis but he's scared of Chipping up because he lost his father to Cyberpsychosis.
That talk about Multiplayer, as a side discussion, I'd love for "a game like Cyberpunk," but... the people on the streets are real players. As an MMO player, on-and-off, for the last 25 years, MMO's _should be the most "immersive"_ sim's out there. If you think about it, they're pen-and-paper RPG's graphically represented on the screen in front of you, played in realtime with you acting as your digital avatar, but, they lack that immersion. No archer sees an opportunity to shoot down a chandelier onto a patrolling guard, they just "go through their rotations". No wizard casts fire all over the spilled oil, they just tab-target the boss and 1,2,2,2,3 whilst avoiding red circles. How immersive it is to be a healer when you're just focused on healing raidframes. Know what I'm saying?
honestly i hope its not as ambitious as you say, I kinda just want a multiplayer game with missions built to use the cyberpunk engine to make every combat a sort of puzzle to be solved together. think halo, that's what I want halo in the cyberpunk engine
It would be cool to see our V as the owner and fixer of the Afterlife. Maybe cameos of Pan Am and folks we call friends. We could interact with V, from jobs to advice. It would be a fun way to connect our new character with the old. Specially if we can import (or be allowed to create) our version of V into the new game. Maybe have missions where we work together. And somehow Johnny can be there. Perhaps V finds a way to coexist and survive. Alt needs to be in the game too. We need to learn more about the black wall. And maybe Also NPCs must have a degree of freedom-AI. To make interactions rich. And more physical interactions with world objects would be fun.
I feel like there hasn't been an exception but, I feel like if they have a whole building devoted to it and they have a true love for the property that live-service might not be terrible? I mean maybe more like a MMORPG, where the live service would be focused content influenced by the community, maybe when another show or movie comes out they can directly add something in! Though it can absolutely go south, I like to imagine what the ideal situation would be personally! It's not needed, but done right could be awesome!

TBF i would love to see orion go back 20-30 years. I think it could easily provide completely new setting and feel without making the game feel out of touch from 2077. bunch of lore that is already made etc.
@DNye It’s what Russia becomes in the cyberpunk timeline. The Soviet Union didn't collapse the same way or did in our world. Basically, Gorbachev reformed it to resemble the EU where each of the republics became sovereign but still had mutual defense and economic arrangements. Then, in the 2010's the country's oil monopoly, SovOil, forms a paramilitary and coups the government, turning the soviet government into just an oil company with a state apparatus. One can only imagine how great of a cyberpunk dystopia this setting is.
Personally dont really care for multiplayer games anymore after being burnt out of it from years of playing Destiny 2, I just want a good single player experience that immerses you in the world.
Seems like multiplayer, would do a number on all the slowdown effects, in game. I have to wonder how they would deal with that. It just wouldn't feel like cyberpunk without it.
I wanna see them, do something other than a merc, or a street rat. Like can we get a dark story about Regina jones with the cyberpsychos? Or a dark story about a dead beat cop in night city. Or even, you can be a MaxTac operator, and like how all is in night city, you get screwed over and such on a call out to deal with a cyberpsycho.
That does sound really cool. A black mirror type of show that follows a different person in night city each episode might be a cool idea to see many different perspectives.
It would be awesome to be able to go to multiple cities even as dlc or something. Being in a new location but also being able to visit night city again
I had one sick experience with Cyberpunk to tell you dude. I avoided the game and never played it and even managed to avoid spoilers etc. And 2 weeks ago I finally got it, Put a few 100 mods on to it 😂. And thanks to that "frankly perfect" gaming experience that filled a hole in my heart after long last, I made the plan to save for PC upgrade for next Witcher and Orion.
Love to hear it! I got a new PC last year, but I will prob need a new one by the time Orion comes out. I'm also playing the Witcher 3 for the first time right now on Ultra+ settings and its amazing!

In my opinion, the worst part about gaming is waiting for that next big release. I can deal with the bugs and glitches… would rather have something then nothin…. Even if it’s tiny.

Game studios (not CDPR) like multiplayer games because they can generate more revenue for years after the game is released through in-game purchases, subscriptions, and downloadable content. Players are more likely to spend money on items in a game because they need to "keep up with the Jones" and not appear "lame"
Multiplayer also provide opportunities for social interaction, which can be a significant draw for players. This social aspect can lead to a more dedicated and active player base for many years, leading to more opportunities to make more money.
There's been examples of great single player experiences having good multiplayers without needless corporate greed involved. Ghost of Tsushima, GTA IV, and Uncharted 4 are just a few that come to mind

I agree it doesn't need multiplayer but it would be nice especially on pc. I can picture it already it would be like gta. Then the modding community will come in and make a rp server like they did with gta 5 and gta san andreas. The potential is there and it's good.

Cdpr and rockstar are pretty similar in the way the do things. They deliver good quality! Cyberpunk had a bad start, sure, but it's nothing compared to the Tons and Tons of shit ubisoft, ea and many other Studios deliver over the past years.
I could see going to the Afterlife to start a multiplayer gig. None of the story will be affected but doing this could be fun.
Cyberpunk 2077 had a multiplayer in development that never made it. One could only imagine what they could have done had they used that resources on the Singleplayer instead.

@@danielstone2541there are some 3rd party cut scenes and they are very powerful exactly because you do not see yourself from that perspective normally. I love the fact it’s 1st person. The mirrors will certainly be way better next gen, that should be solved by the time the game is released.

I would at least hope there's coop with up to 4 players. Imagine forming a merc band with your friends and doing gigs. You each have different roles. You have one friend who is hacking away as netrunner, another who is stealthy, one who straight up goes berserk into the fray etc. And of course simply just vibing and cruising around night city with your friends

The game was being run on their own engine... They used for cyberpunk. Old gen games had the most bugs... Meaning maybe they should've scrapped Old gen entirely. Why not think of that instead of... Oh getting rid of multiplayer is the solution.

Cyberpunk is the most locked "open world" game CDPR needs to actually play ACTUAL open world games because how is Avatar frontiers of Pandora to the Crew 2 to RDR2 more open than Cyberpunk don't get me wrong I like cyberpunk but I hate fans that think cyberpunk is great like no it's in a great shape only on pc and fans are in denial that mods is what saved cyberpunk because series s port still has bugs and glitches and isn't a stable 60 fps and visible frame drops still happen in pupppytown

Mod the game, is my 4th run and this is first time with mods, is another level. New game+ with choice of starting post-heist (after Jackie incident) with all items you had and if im not wrong you can choose to have same lv and att points. Also one mod that allows to reset the points at any time

The mod that I saw does everything but carry over your clothing items. Is this the case in the mod your using? Thank god for modders!

Best new from this is Unreal Engine 5. This means that the game will be able to be directly ported to vr which will easily be the best experience for the game imo.
ehhhh Red Engine was better than ue5, which has just become cookie cutter slop and honestly not that great. Plus Unreal props up an asshole who doesn't belong in gaming and let to a serious downgrade in quality with *fortnite*

Night city is truly the main character. We just happen to follow the different stories of legends that come from it. It's truly one of the best cities in gaming. Im glad we get to see more of it.

One of the things a hated about Cyberpunk was how it made no sense for me to go play any side missions when I could have been doing main missions to save my life!

@@Dreygan-pf5hb oh yes, they did pretty good comparing it to most other games but this is the type of have that needs extensive character customization. I also feel like they cheaped out on clothing design. They have quite a few ok things, she a couple really good things, but so much of it Doesnt work together. Adding simple things like color choices really opens up a lot of creativity.
I completely agree with your opinion on multiplayer. Make it 100% completely optional with absolutely no bearing on the single player experience. That being said, IF it can be done without impacting the overall story, I wouldn't be opposed to having a "crew" you can run with that could be made up completely or partly of friends.

Personally I hope for a separate online mode from the main story were you make your own personal merc ie name,backstory,design,weapons,outfits, and story, being able to meet up with other mercs/real players and forming your own edge runner squad would be awesome

My guess is that Orion will resemble Phantom Liberty in a lot of ways...it will be an expanded and more detailed environment in Night City, with a new protagonist, a new cast of major NPCs [with some familiar faces mixed in, I hope] and a new story to be told. The fact that we've seen this formula 3 times now [Dogtown was all new, the cast was all new except for V, the story was new, just like Edgerunners] suggests to me it will be used again...maybe be a permanent feature of the franchise. It's possible that The Tower ending of Phantom Liberty will be made canon, and the glimpse of Night City we saw in it, set in 2079, will be the kind of world we encounter in Orion. IMO the CDPR devs have thick notebooks full of plans and ideas for future development...they aren't reinventing the wheel...and this will speed development of the new game.
I am thinking the release date could be around December of 2028 or 2029...those just feel right. I have no interest in a multiplayer game...I think it would be a mistake to change the game into something radically different from the format we're all familiar with. I'm not an anime fan, so Edgerunners did not excite me the way the game does, but I'll definitely be interested in new animated stories. Imagine if the rich backstory of some familiar characters was put into reality...Rogue, Wakako, the Padre...maybe the origins of the Aldecaldos and other gangs...there are practically endless possibilities.
I like the ideas you mentioned and I would also agree with the release date. My best guess would be 2028-2030.
Playing the campaign together with a friend would be amazing imo. Kind of like the old Halo games.
What I would love to see, that NightCity (or wherever the game will play) includes a faction system. Like you get the option to do missions for a gang (or corp) and eventually join them while, if action is taken against other gangs they despise you and hunt you down. (expand more on the assassins essentially). Also add more Gang-strong-holds and hide outs so that faction-relationship will have more of an impact.
Edit: I think Fallout: New Vegas implemented this quite well, would be cool if they take inspiration from that.
Always online would be a no go for me.

CP 2077 is the best game I've ever played and it doesn't even have a multiplayer option. I also want Orion to either not have it, or have it as a side option because I don't want the next game to become one of the idiotic always-online titles. Hopefully CDPR will not make that mistake...

If they do multiplayer, don’t change the Sandy or other time slow stuff at all. Just slow EVERYONEs time and force other players to pop their sandy if they want to fight on even footing.
i honestly love how gta does their multiplayer, you can either be a character or go online and i still feel like im playing in the same world and not some online server. i personally am excited to see what the multiplayer has in store but also understand ur perspective because i also love my single player story modes.

There’s only two things that I want that Cyberpunk 2077 didn’t have:
1. More Main Missions For Act 1
and
2. Third Person Cutscenes (I don’t mind if it’s an FPS, but besides Inventory or riding a motorcycle, I want to see what my character looks and how they look interacting with people from time to time)

I think its more likely they start fresh with a completely new main character and story. As you said, continuing V’s story would force them to somehow account for every possible outcome of the original game. It needs to be entirely possible for V to still be in NC, be in Arizona, be somewhere out there with Johnny’s mind, or be dead. Best way to account for everything is to just take V out of the equation entirely and not involve them in the new story
@@DNyeThey would have to substantially change the map for it to feel fresh and new again, so a one year difference is unlikely. They could do 2079 or 2080 after Arasaka pulls out of the city and Militech takes over, effectively putting the city back under federal jurisdiction. Could be interesting to see how people in a free city-state adjust to living under a dictatorship. Plus, by 2079 V is either dead or just another insignificant citizen of night city, so they wouldnt have to deal with the character at all.

I’m both impressed/amused and angry about Cyberpunk 2077. It is certainly one of the best games I’ve ever played. I mean, its birth has been difficult, it needed further efforts to fix and update it to the point it has become the masterpiece and the reference even for the next gta title. Phantom liberty is well integrated in the game but in the end they decided to abandon it. It’s the typical nonsense that keep occurring in modern day gaming. It’s a shame that after all the efforts to let us live an awesome Night city they abandoned the game before we ever thought… after only one dlc…what a waste.
That’s what I hate about video games industry nowadays. I remember we got fallout 3 in 2008 and several dlc… and new Vegas 2 years after.
They used to produce more content. Now they produce more graphics just to waste it all. They could do even small activities like introducing new cars and bikes to unlock and sell it. Won’t it be profitable? Won’t it be enjoyable?

I would have liked more Cyberpunk 2077 content but I think they moved on to move efforts to UE5 since that is the new engine all of their games are being made on. And its been 4 years since release so they need to focus on future games more.
I don't care much for multiplayer game modes....I like to play & enjoy I my game with less distractions....Plus the online always to me I'm not a fan of......a good offline single player mode will be epic......

imagine a gta like multiplayer but has a built in faction system thats true to the cyberpunk lore and you could beomce a fixer/ suit and dominate low level players. While low players have to catch any break they can until they make their way to the top. Possibly doing heists/ setting other players up or even betraying them. The potential for chaos is amazing haha

So you could have a crew of all brawlers, crew of ninjas. Or you can have a balanced crew with one of every build. All while competing for the top statistics and potentially crossing paths as you go about missions in a live action gang war. With some people opting to be NCPD and can level up to be MaxTac users.

Good luck quick hacking in real time, and good luck doing Sandevestian players (like me), You're going to have to be able to think as fast as you're technically supposed to be moving in the game, because everyone else gets to keep their real time so you just have to go faster
i think multiplayer would be sick in the "crew" aspect. as long as it could be some thing thats like. a literal setting or like whats being said a separate kind of side to the game. I wouldn't want them to give up on the quality of the single player experience just to add in a multiplayer feature.

im guessing we get a release around 2029 or 2030, not as long as 2077 took since its got a much better engine and stuff but not super fast since its gonna be a lot bigger than 2077
And with the first game they had to do alot of world building for the game. The had the table top rpg but alot had to be animated. But they are also moving to UE5 so that could make it take longer too.
But many assets could be recycle here... npc's, cars...etc not only that but with the animated series and game, the story telling is much easier to elaborate as is not a new saga...something like the witcher, gta or any other open world saga.

I built my pc for the first time to enjoy cyberpunk 2077 to the fullest... took me about a year to save up the money and purchase all the components...
it was so painful to see the state the game was in... but luckily I had no crashes and had fun watching jacky walk through walls and other npc glitching around
and try to fight the defence system set on all buildings as a substitute to the missing police

Honestly, i just want a 3rd person camera in this game. It's really frustrating that you can customize V in such depth and basically never get to see your character apart from some stills in the menu. It could be like Bethesda's cameras in Starfield, Fallout and Skyrim where you can go between 1st and 3rd person.

Yeah don't get excited. We began hearing about Cyberpunk 2077 development back when Witcher 2 came out and started getting teaser trailers when Witcher 3 came out.
It took a lot of R&D to get the series going so they don’t have to do as much of that this time. The R&D phase took that long and now they are already in pre production. Great sign if you ask me.

The online portion checks out because Cyberpunk, 2077 was originally supposed to have an online, whether it be baked into the main game or a separate thing altogether, but they canceled it.
I know with 2077 it was going to be sometime after launch but it idk if it was co op or a gta online type of mode
CDPR made a public statement last year that moving forward they will be ESG compliant.

I would be okay with a Max of 8 people for an online play, you go and make a person for it, and you get a world more or less that is just for that group play. the game takes into account how many are in the group and scale the missions to it. then you have the option to play solo and have to make a person for that story line. seems like a good balance if they have the people to make it work.

I think a good way of adding multiplayer to a game like this is how Watchdogs 2 did it. Have a chance for players that are in the same area as you to pair into your game at random and you can choose to play with them or outright ignore them. Have separate multiplayer missions and gigs, and maybe have the option to play main story quests in multiplayer, kinda like Ghost Recon Wildlands I guess.
The issue with cyberpunk is the slow down mechanics with the sandi.
Not super excited. Been reading they have SBI on board for Orion. I vote with my wallet and don’t support products that are using SBI’s services. Between that and the ESg money they have been taking, I’m not interested.
Where is the source saying that they are using this? I will prob withhold judgment until the game is released, but on the same note we should never pre order games nowadays.

Ghost of Tsushima is an example of multiplayer done right in a single player game
I have not played it but I heard the legends mode was pretty cool. Can’t wait for ghost of yotei!
This game might miss it but CD project has apparently gone fully woke, I would be surprised if the workers move quick enough to destroy Orion but anything is possible I guess

Completely agree. I love my single player RPG experiences. Having online, but keeping like a second game mode is the way. I'm open to multiplayer..Would be neat if they could pull it off! GTA online is fun..but it's too heavily reliant on matchmaking with randoms (if you're not playing with friends that is) It wouldn't be that big of a deal: but kids rarely will stay in the mission if someone fails...then you have to start the mission all over with more random kids. I like the idea of a seamless multiplayer experience; but don't stake my whole experience on whether little, squeaky Timmy has the patience for a retry. It Also bugs me everything is expected to take a stab at a live service these days. The ones doing it well; people are happy to hand over the cash for the extra content. For the games not doing it well; it feels like they've designed the whole game around microtransactions (not fun gameplay) It's insulting spending 60-70 bucks on a game, just to load it up to another hand reached out wanting more money (for the rest of the game)
Both Edgerunners and Cyberpunk 2077 and Phantom Liberty are immersing that I had made my own OC.
My OC once worked for Zetatech as a Paper Pusher and Gloria Martinez always cheered him up and reminded him that David looks up to him and he's not much older than David.
Then Zetatech made my OC redundant but he Klept their experimental Cyberdeck before he left and David just got his Sandevistan installed and they both joined Maine's Gang and my OC is partnered with Kiwi and learns to become a Netrunner.
My OC's name is Antonio Davis but he's scared of Chipping up because he lost his father to Cyberpsychosis.

That talk about Multiplayer, as a side discussion, I'd love for "a game like Cyberpunk," but... the people on the streets are real players.
As an MMO player, on-and-off, for the last 25 years, MMO's _should be the most "immersive"_ sim's out there. If you think about it, they're pen-and-paper RPG's graphically represented on the screen in front of you, played in realtime with you acting as your digital avatar, but, they lack that immersion. No archer sees an opportunity to shoot down a chandelier onto a patrolling guard, they just "go through their rotations". No wizard casts fire all over the spilled oil, they just tab-target the boss and 1,2,2,2,3 whilst avoiding red circles. How immersive it is to be a healer when you're just focused on healing raidframes. Know what I'm saying?

honestly i hope its not as ambitious as you say, I kinda just want a multiplayer game with missions built to use the cyberpunk engine to make every combat a sort of puzzle to be solved together. think halo, that's what I want halo in the cyberpunk engine

It would be cool to see our V as the owner and fixer of the Afterlife. Maybe cameos of Pan Am and folks we call friends. We could interact with V, from jobs to advice. It would be a fun way to connect our new character with the old. Specially if we can import (or be allowed to create) our version of V into the new game.
Maybe have missions where we work together. And somehow Johnny can be there. Perhaps V finds a way to coexist and survive. Alt needs to be in the game too. We need to learn more about the black wall. And maybe Also NPCs must have a degree of freedom-AI. To make interactions rich. And more physical interactions with world objects would be fun.
There have been rumors that rogue ai could be a part of the story in Orion. Would be cool and could incorporate Alt Cunningham in some way.
I feel like there hasn't been an exception but, I feel like if they have a whole building devoted to it and they have a true love for the property that live-service might not be terrible? I mean maybe more like a MMORPG, where the live service would be focused content influenced by the community, maybe when another show or movie comes out they can directly add something in! Though it can absolutely go south, I like to imagine what the ideal situation would be personally! It's not needed, but done right could be awesome!

@DNye Absolutely! I personally like to try and imagine what successful live-service could do! I feel like CD Projekt Red learned from their mistake, if they decide live service is what they want to do, I'm confident they can do it!
TBF i would love to see orion go back 20-30 years. I think it could easily provide completely new setting and feel without making the game feel out of touch from 2077. bunch of lore that is already made etc.

@DNye It’s what Russia becomes in the cyberpunk timeline. The Soviet Union didn't collapse the same way or did in our world. Basically, Gorbachev reformed it to resemble the EU where each of the republics became sovereign but still had mutual defense and economic arrangements. Then, in the 2010's the country's oil monopoly, SovOil, forms a paramilitary and coups the government, turning the soviet government into just an oil company with a state apparatus. One can only imagine how great of a cyberpunk dystopia this setting is.
Personally dont really care for multiplayer games anymore after being burnt out of it from years of playing Destiny 2, I just want a good single player experience that immerses you in the world.

Seems like multiplayer, would do a number on all the slowdown effects, in game. I have to wonder how they would deal with that. It just wouldn't feel like cyberpunk without it.

I wanna see them, do something other than a merc, or a street rat. Like can we get a dark story about Regina jones with the cyberpsychos? Or a dark story about a dead beat cop in night city. Or even, you can be a MaxTac operator, and like how all is in night city, you get screwed over and such on a call out to deal with a cyberpsycho.
That does sound really cool. A black mirror type of show that follows a different person in night city each episode might be a cool idea to see many different perspectives.
It would be awesome to be able to go to multiple cities even as dlc or something. Being in a new location but also being able to visit night city again

I had one sick experience with Cyberpunk to tell you dude. I avoided the game and never played it and even managed to avoid spoilers etc. And 2 weeks ago I finally got it, Put a few 100 mods on to it 😂. And thanks to that "frankly perfect" gaming experience that filled a hole in my heart after long last, I made the plan to save for PC upgrade for next Witcher and Orion.
Love to hear it! I got a new PC last year, but I will prob need a new one by the time Orion comes out. I'm also playing the Witcher 3 for the first time right now on Ultra+ settings and its amazing!
