Now if you are in Houston franks is one of the better pizza places in the city and I’ll still grab a pizza from them every now and then but let’s be real Houston isn’t well known for its pizza, you can literally get anything in the city food wise but pizza seems to be the biggest thing that we haven’t gotten right.

It's getting better. We now have places like Rosie Cannonball, BOH, Tiny Champions, Gypsy Poet. Frank's has never ever been in any conversation about good pizza in Houston and IDK why it's so popular besides that downtown is pizza desert except for BOH in Bravery Chef Hall
Star, Fuzzy’s, old Panjo’s,, iFratelli’s, Girabaldi’s - but yeah, we suck overall for good pie. Surprising given all the other things we do well. Why aren’t our NY transplant’s representing and opening good places?

Come back to Cleveland, Ohio ... but visit the East Side suburbs. LaRich's, Pizza Roma, Dewey's, etc. A lot of Italians making great pizza in this area.

I think a big reason for Franks Pizza’s success was always its location. It is a NY style pizza place on Market Square downtown but it was successful even before the downtown renaissance which made downtown much more successful.

Frank's isn't like REALLY good pizza. It happens to be right next to Houston Community College and it shares a yard space with the popular bar, Axelrad. Also, you're not in Downtown. You're in Midtown, west of Downtown. Downtown is east of I-45.
