- How to Migrate or Clone Windows to Another SSD NVME Drive
EaseUS Disk Copy - bit.ly/3AwC9TP
I will show you step by step on how to clone an NVMe SSD to another NVMe SSD, this exact same method also works if you are cloning a SATA SSD or HDD to an NVMe SSD

EaseUS Disk Copy - bit.ly/3AwC9TP
Not paying to them. Others were pulled into a subscription, bombarded by spammy emails, hard to get rid of them. People better check up the business practices of these. There are free alternatives. You are disappointing me, Brian. Here is a video how you pay to clone your disk. No, thanks.
Is that link an affiliate link? It looks like one. Much better free cloning software out there. Like your videos Britec09 but this one feels like a sponsored advertisement to me. Also, EaseUS licensing is a bit scummy. Last time I used them, you could not deactivate a key to move it to another PC and I had issues rearming my license after rebuilding my PC. Maybe that has changed but I refuse to buy from them now.
I did this the other day to a 5th gen 1tb nvme using Mini Tool and now its in my main system, Thanks Brian good video
Nice 👍
Acasis has one that does the same thing but doesn't need the entire enclosure...just pop it in BUT while it's cloning you will notice the nvme heat is actually a real thing.
In the past I've successfully used programs like Macrium Reflect to even clone larger disks to smaller ones as well - as long as the files that are already saved on the larger disk fit on the smaller one
Or do it for free with Rescuezilla running from a bootable usb you created in advance. Most of us have some usb laying around. You only bpneed a few GB, maybe even 4 or 8 would be enough. And depending on what the old hard disk is, could be a sata one, rather get an enclosure for that sata if you want to use it as a data storage in the future like myself, if your comuter has spaces for both disk drives like mine, insert nvme into the computer, boot into rescuezilla and clone the system from the external sata drive into your new nvme in the computer. When finished, boot into your new nvme (remove rescuezilla usb) and see if it works. Nobody needs to pay for anything on top of the equipment they already have. I use Ventoy as a bootable usb, can take many .iso files at once.
Cheers, 2nd time I have seen you do this as I forget information as fast as I learn it and doing it with years between, helps me forget faster. Cheers
Thanks, so timely, planning on doing this in the next few weeks
Have fun!
Funny enough, I started doing this, with this method and software, while clicking on today's video!
Excellent!
Thank You this worked perfectly. Great Video👍👍👍
Glad it helped
0:48 can i just transfer from ssd to ssd nvme without using usb type c for nvme? my ssd nvme is connected to the motherboard
Very helpful tutorial, Brian. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
I have that same enclosure! Question - Can I leave the NVMe in the enclosure and run Windows from there?
I ask because I'd like to install Linux on the computers internal HDD. Thanks.
5:30 Make a video on sector by sector. Also, what if we don't have enclosure? But have an extra m.2 slot in mobo instead.
Like I said This worked Great. It was a real pain to get rid of that program though. I had to hack it out of the registry but that worked. Thanks Again!👍
revo is brilliant for quickly deleting everything, including the tons of bloat windows insist on
Thanks. Nice enclosure.
Thanks for watching!
What do you think of Macrium Reflect? It's from the UK as well. Unfortunately they are now on subscription model like most software is becoming...
nice video, personally i use Acronis or macrium
Acronis has become bloated in my opinion
All my OLD PCs and OLD Laptops , Have 2 SSD ( SSD or mSATA , or NVME Drive )
One was the origin HDD, concerted to SSD on the computer with Win 10 , another One was a new SSD with Win 11 on it.
Each time I have to choose Win 10 or Win 11( with up down key ) to run the computer 。。。。。。I love it 👍👍👍👍
Thanks for sharing
Aoemi Backupper or Partition Assistant have cloning software, free, also many NVMe drives contain free cloning software.
If I dual boot with linux mint do I have to undo linux mint before doing the clone.
@Brian please tell this. DON'T FORGET TO TURN OFF SECURE BOOT IF YOU WANT TO MAKE IT BOOTABLE. I cloned and it said its not a bootable drive. But at least I have it full backup. Maybe make a video of how to turn off and back on SECURE BOOT please.
Thanks for another great video :)
I always used Windows build in system image tool, for when I wanted to go to a faster or bigger drive, why is this almost never mentioned, when you only need this "simple" job done?
Not a fan of the windows tool
@@Britec09 I get that, but it's been working for me ever sins Windows 7, and when I try other programs, I'm not sure if they are really creating a full image, so I always end up using the build in tool :)
I might try and use the EaseUS Disk Copy when I decide to migrate to Windows 11, as I want to have a copy of my Windows 10 pc, in case I don't like Windows 11, or something goes wrong.
I have a NVME drive that is not recognized for some reason. I have checked the BIOS but not sure whats going on. Great video
Thanks, maybe your drive has failed?
All my softwares will remain installed on the new cloned drive?
What about cloning your computer to your friends one so you habe all the same games etc?
After this cloning process it is not need to repair the bootloader? Thanks!
no
I've been using HAsteo backup software , you made a video about the software a couple of weeks ago
correct
hey britec, what do you prefer? windows 11 24h2 or windows 11 23h2?
I am on 23H2
@Britec09 why?
@@levouxx Because its supported until 2026, not need to rush to a buggy 24H2
I have a question about what you just did please. The M.2 that you just made a clone from your C drive if you were to take that M.2 and put it in another desktop computer and it becomes your C drive for the other computer will it work from it just being a clone? Thank you sir.
You can put this drive in another computer and make it the boot drive in BIOS and it will boot up
How to clone and restore to other computer? Thank u
How would you clone a hard drive to an nvme ssd on a 2014 mac mini?
Through mac os?
Every SSD I've ever bought came with software that allowed you to clone! No need to buy any software! If your SSD doesn't, the supplier of your HDD that you're cloning from, probably does, too!
This is how i made my cloned windows 11 a little over a year ago
Nice
i use disk genius works for me but interesting video all the same
external nvme enclosure support maximum 1gbps speed right ?
This one is 10Gbps
That's great!
Thanks
The internet archive has Acronis True Image software ISO available for free.
Those SN series from WD are almost terrible in terms of non updateable firmware and buggy HMB. Had to disable write cache on 570 and even SN740 shipped by ThinkPad.
This is very complicated and i used macrium free pe to image the original drive and simply restored it back without issues.
I've got one of those enclosures, for the money its good. I run Samsung NVME drives, I use there software for doing this job. 👍
Cool 👍
There is free open source clone software on windows bootable disks.
i did this so many times
Alwys good to know
This is by far the worst guide of how to clone your hard drive to an SSD I have ever seen on TH-cam.
Move on then nobhead, not everything in your mind is beneficial to others, or needs to be said 😂
OK Mr Linux user, go troll somewhere else.
@NightNurse3711 Don't waste your energy on jealous trolls
I’m not a troll but you really need to give much better background to the various hardware scenarios the average user may have. This video could make people go out and spend money on SSDs when their hardware doesn’t even support them. I have noticed (and this is constructive criticism) you do do seem to assume people are using very modern hardware when in reality many are using PCs that are over 10 years old. “Linux Troll FFS”
@@steveskipper6473nvmes have been around for a decade. Your point is?
DO NOT USE aseUS Disk once installed, you can not get rid of it very poor video this time it needs deleting
How do you mean?
Does it work with Windows 11 for ARM64 laptop's?
does not look like it, check there site
@Britec09 It does not, x86 or compatible CPUs.
I would prefer Clonezilla, it can even clone defective HDD to SSD, and it's totally free.
