I used to think I could help my younger sick, medicated, surgery inclined friends have healthier lives. Nope. Every single person has to come to health under their own volition. I just want to be left alone with my yummy vegan kitchen food and grow super old, able bodied and clear of mind. Every person chooses their path.

If you look into it you will find find studies showing than a vegan diet is deadly. The same as with carnivore, ketovore, pescivore, etc... At that stage of science there is no way to get a consensus. Personally I wiil stick to low sugar omnivorous diet.

@@Ranch-girl Well at the end of the day it's all about GOD's blessings. People have been eating meat, dairy, eggs and fish since Biblical times. I choose to be plant based for my health. I truly believe plant based is the best diet. But some people are just blessed with good genes. Watch the short documentary video Richard Overton on TH-cam. He was a World War 2 veteran who died at 112 or 113 years old. In the documentary he is about 109 years old. He was still able to drive his car. Besides that he smoked cigars, ate ice cream, drank whiskey, and ate canned soup everyday. He was a man of faith and expressed his faith in the documentary. And he was also in phenomenal shape. He had no fat on him. He was just blessed by GOD with good genes. Comedy legend Mel Brooks is 96 and still eats Reuben beef sandwiches. I don't know if you believe in GOD but I would say eat with wisdom and faith. Pray over your food and eat with faith. Meaning what ever food you eat will hopefully not give you cancer or a heart attack. But have wisdom, if the foods are known to cause cancer and stroke be mindful and don't eat it. Have a blessed day. GOD bless you!!

Red meat consumption went dramatically down over the years, and metabolic diseases like diabetis, high blood pressure and all cancers are going through the roof.
Otto Warburg won in the 1930 ties the Noble price, for proofing that cancer frenzies on sugar, so it make sense to replace a zero carb food with a high carb food as they promote.
India has the highest rates of diabetis and the highest rate of vegans. Diabetis increases your risk on all cancers 10 fold.
Hongkong has the highest red meat consumption in the world and they live also the longest (WHO statistics).
The masai, the rendeer and yak people and the intuit have no cancer and they eat almost only animal products.
I just don't get where they get that nonsensens from.
There is no single study that proves causation.

Those facts that you have heard somewhere are false. Red meat consumption in the world has increased by 150% in the last 30 years. Consumption per person in the US has increased 20% in 30 years. What you say about Otto Barburg is false. Read their research. The tribes you mention live only 50 - 60 years and their illnesses are not recorded because they do not go to hospitals. Long-lived people in Hong Kong have eaten very little meat during their lives, because they come from regions where they do not eat meat. It is young people who eat more meat.

It’s very confusing for don’t understand why all doctors have common studies and answers to the public. One doctor says eat everything in portion control and exercise while another says no meet no dairy. Another say’s Mediterranean diet.
It sounds more politics than anything else. Who pays for the research what the interest groups doing it for.
The public need to do his/her judgment. Our forefathers lived mostly in meat diet lived long happy life. We should rather focus what makes today’s food poison to body? We’re focusing in the wrong place. What’s causing our food poisonous?

Also if you google Dr. Neal Barnard, he is an animal rights activist, and this explains his biased opinion. It's just sad. You can't just say "red meat" cause cancer. I believe if the animal has been treated humanely and fed grass in a stress free environment, the meat ought to be safe to eat. It's also the marinade of sugars, salt, colours and other ingredients added to the meat before they're cooked. And also how the meat is being handled before they're cooked and after cooking (storage). I'm not sure but I'm saying it's not just "red meat" that's the problem.

we should all be able to just look at the queen of tv's "evoo"(rachael ray) and obviously plainly see the detrimental effects of years of "evoo" use...there are plenty of counter examples of tv stars who have aged much much better who are not drenching all their food in evoo...even if she doesn't eat the exact same as she cooks, just one bite an episode of food drenched in evoo was enough to cause her health/weight gain problems....but surely she normally eats the way she cooks on tv right? "tv" the fantasy world they've made look so realistic?! crazy...all the conmercials! i've never seen a conmercial that told the truth about anything!, nor a tv show for that matter...or very rarely if a single tv show exists that actually told the truth/the whole truth/nothing but the truth...i can't think of any off the top of my head...all that waste...wasted resources making the tvs wasted resources producing all those lies of shows/conmercials, wasted hours of humans watching/learning all that garbage...ugh sure "entertainment" is good also beneficial for humans and all but when there's too much confusion between "entertainment" and "the truth/reality"...this, our modern for profit sick care system and humans lifespan/health span shortening instead of improving for the 1st time in modern history is the result...

You should interview Professor Thomas Seyfried who has shown that tumor cells need glucose for energy whereas normal cells can use glucose as well as ketones for energy. So when the glucose supply is cut off the tumor cells can starve. This is done by a keto diet where fats comprise around 70% by calories. This forces the body to switch to ketones as the metabolite of fats. You can see his interviews on youtube but you should do an interview with him also.

Question for Dr. Barnard: I am unhappy that you did not warn us about the TWO KINDS OF B-12. One form of B-12 is Cyanocobalamin and the other is Methylcobalamin. I heard the best one to take is methylcobalamin, which is naturally sourced & absorbed by the body better. Cyanocobalamin is the poor choice, but more economical, and is synthetic made in a laboratory! I also heard cyanocobalamin contains a molecule of cyanide, which is a deadly POISON!! I have been taking the bad one for months & had I known, I would have taken the other one. Grrrrrrr... PLEASE have Dr. Barnard address this.

The amount of cyanide in cyanocobalamin B12 pill is negligible. Your body can handle it. The stomach itself is acidic. There is unfortunately hardly any research comparing the health differences between different kinds of B12 supplements.

Cancer is a metabolic disease: cancer needs glucose to thrive. Diabetes is probably the number one factor contributing to disease such as cancer and heart disease, and it has been tied to various mental health diseases such as Alzheimer's. The risk is highest for liver, pancreatic, colorectal, endometrial, breast and bladder cancer.
Your statements re meat causing diabetes and cancer are really questionable. But we should first understand diabetes, the number one contributor.
In late 50s, overweight and prediabetic I went on a low carb diet with lots of meat. Lost 50lbs and prediabetes completely gone in 3 months. When you eat meat with animal fat and reduce carbohydrates, one goes into ketosis which is exceptionally good for ones health, and the pounds just melt away like the butter I eat. A low carb, high fat and animal meat diet has been used to treat people with type 1 diabetes since the late 1700s - to claim it causes diabetes contradicts 100s of years of medical reality. Animal fat has no insulin response, protein only a small insulin response, while sugars, alcohol, and carbohydrates which are massively present in grains, vegetables and fruit require a large insulin response. The insulin response is required to lower your blood glucose level, otherwise the glucose will kill you. The yoyo insulin response causes insulin resistance, which if untreated by lowering your carbohydrate in take will likely lead to type 2 diabetes. Most fruit are just sugar bombs. Starchy vegetables and grain products are just groups of sugars. So you are telling everyone that eating many foods that readily turn to sugar (glucose) and triggers an insulin response in your blood is good? The American food guide states the minimum daily required intake of carbohydrates is zero - so clearly carbohydrates are not required for humans to live. You should look up the storey of artic explorer stephansson who adopted an Inuit diet and then spent one year in a new York hospital eating only meat so they could observe his condition. Of course his health after this period was excellent. The Inuit had extremely low incidence of diabetes and cancer, until they recently adopted the agrarian lifestyle of eatin more grains, fruits and vegetables and now they have one of the highest rates of these diseases.
Fibre is a waste material for humans; humans cannot process fibre and as a result it has zero nutritional value to humans, and why it comes out of our back end. Are you telling everyone that humans evolved to eat a waste product that provides zero nutritional value ?
People who eat a strict vegetarian or vegan diet are less likely to eat a lot of processed food, and positive outcomes are largely a result of not eating processed foods which are stuffed full of sugar, used to replace the fat that used to be in our foods but is now removed, and processed seed oils. Both sugar and seed oils are plant based products.
These studies always conflate having a diet high in processed food e.g. fast food, as high in meat. There is a small meat patty in amongst the 70% of vegetable based processed food, buns, katchup, fries, soda pop. How are the plants and fibre containing cookies, chips, crackers, cakes and desserts doing for people's health ? These are 100% plant based!
Industrial processed meat is also stuffed with sugars and preserved with seed oil.
Those of us who eat low carb, eat a proper human diet with whole animal products, not processed foods which are the real culprit.
Again, cancer requires glucose to thrive, and the most glucose in the blood stream comes from a diet high in sugar, natural or otherwise, and carbohydrates (which are metabolised to glucose), or turn into fat if not used up for energy!

While the PAHs are lower in grains, we consume more of them - and thus get a greater exposure is what I remember (w/o double checking with google). On a side note, Americans consume a whooping 100 lbs of sugar per year per person. Think, you eat more sugar by weight than beef, what can possibly go wrong 😂😂😂?
I would be careful listening to anyone who looks like a ghost, especially a "doctor" who gets $$$ from Cargill, ADM, Montesano...

So if one were to really for example sear an eggplant or any other veggie in a pan (not atop a charcoal grill), would it still have those cancer causing chemicals?

Browning of anything causes AGE's which are cancer causing. Don't eat food that's been browned a lot by baking.

It can appear to help in the short term because it is an exclusion diet.
Unfortunately it's an illusion and causes the microbiome to become very restricted and will almost inevitably lead to problems with cardiovascular health, brain health and inflammation, unless you are very lucky.
