Can you imagine the stats if MJ played 20 years? He'd own them all.
Yes sir😂
Right but as MJ said, he didn’t play basketball for stats; if he did he would have played longer to chase Kareem’s total points. He had nothing left to prove and he left it all out on the floor
@@CaptainFalchionfacts ! None of the pre 2010 greats played for stats. They were purely tryna win and make their opposition submit. That’s it. You got players nowadays that will dribble out the clock before halftime just to make sure their FG percentage don’t go down.
@victormartin3539 : And You know this man!💯(Chris Tucker voice)
Absolutely, plus Michael put in an effort to play all 82 games, so his stats would be quite excellent lol
8% 👀 🤣. It's clear Lebron not just the biggest hype in NBA history. Dude is the biggest hype in professional sports history period! 20+ years no DPOY, 20+ years only 1 scoring title 😂, 4-6 finals record, 22-33 final games record, over 100+ playoff losses, 5000+ turnovers most in NBA history, soon to have most missed shots in NBA history, jumped teams 3x, played with more HOF than Jordan and Kobe combined and still lost more than both of them and finally the 👑 of load management. All that juice 💉 and the NBA conts to lower the bar and this dude still losing. Lebalco, Lestat chaser, the imitation 23 and I can go on and on.
PREACH!!!!💯💯🎯🙌🏾
This might be the most complete MJ argument I've ever seen
💯💯💯
👏👏
Now list all his successes or all Jordan's failures. How about add context to those numbers. Like he's 4th all time in assist and has a 2-1 assist to turnover ratio. Or how he's #1 in scoring, shoots over 50%, and that it took 20 years for him to miss that many shots, while others (kobe) did it in 3-4 less years
Some of these people act like MJ played with James Naismith and was dunking on peach baskets. There is a ton of game footage on youtube. So easy to look up.
I'm old. Watching MJ play basketball was pure joy and that joy blotted out the hate I had in my young heart for the Bulls. I was a pistons fan!😂😂😂😂
He played against linebacker built men lmao and he took it straight to the rim
@@rodleyeriffe9149The hate in my heart I had for Jordan has been blotted out by this new generation... LoL
I now appreciate Jordan and Kobe so much more!!! The game was pure back then.
It wouldn't matter.. if he did what he did it would be the same
I doubt a shocking amount of kids from this “new era” have even watched MJ, Kobe, Karrem, Magic, Bird, etc even dribble a ball. They don’t care enough to look them up, but care so much to disrespect them.
The Standard is the Standard..
LeBron didn’t and will Never meet those Standards ….

Too late. LeJoin Blames played most of his career wearing number 23. That number will forever be MJs. He should have had the courage of picking a least known number and make it his own. Kobe, Wade, AI was inspired by MJ but have the courage to pick their own numbers instead of piggybacking on MJ's.

There’s Mike and there’s everyone else, but Kobe is also above all others not named Jordan.
10 scoring titles with a PLETHORA of go-to moves (not just one i.e. Kareem), DPOY, 9x All defense 1st team, 3x steals champ, most blocks by a Guard all time... he was a THREAT on both ends, period. Best 2-way player in history. This is why he went 6-0. This is what separates him from the rest. Kenny is right.
Bro that man won defensive player of the year, MVP and led the league in scoring all in the same year. In 1988. Something that has not and will not ever happen again.
@@jramirez2068 absolutely. He also got his first steals leader in '88 I believe. MJ was possessed.
Only thing close is Olajuwon winning DPOY, MVP, and finals MVP in the same year
They critics don’t even bring up the fact that he was the best player on both sides of the ball at his position and he was really the first wing player to lead his team to multiple championships in a big man era. A lot of times Jordan would be exhausted from playing defense. They took equal pride in defense back then where as now guys are resting on D. Lebron has been resting and hiding himself on D for quite sometime now
Right. If your only playing half the game how can u even compare to someone who went out on both sides of the ball? For that reason alone I'd say LeBron should fall somewhere around the top 25 if that. Cuz all the players ahead of him were great on both ends and didn't take breaks on and off the court. Defense is literally half the game so if your not great at it that makes you half a great player. Dude has no business being mentioned anywhere near the goat debate. He has more weaknesses than strengths.
Both comments absolutely perfect.

Super facts
What problem is that
Mj was a general on that floor. You may not like his approach with how he " treated" his teammates. But he won, and he made them winners. He never quit on his coaches, himself, his teammates, the fans, and the game itself. Mike got beat up by the Pistons, and Knicks on nightly bases and never bitched to the refs like Bron. He picked himself up, and got better and figured out a way to win and to get his team to win. He went to bat for Pip, regardless of how Pip is trying to portray Mike as a person and teammate. You can't say that about Bron. He leaves his team hanging on plays cause he's too busy jaw jacking with the refs. The man is 6'8/6'9 250 lbs, and he flops like a fish out of water. Bron is supposed to be the "self-titled" goat, yet this "goat" walked off the floor of a game with 4 minutes left once. He basically walked out on his coach, the fans, his team, and essentially the game. Bron is and will go down as one of the greats, but a goat like Mike, he will never be. Surprise Mike as The Goat,he will never do.
I’m gonna simplify it just a tad. Between the 2, there’s only one guy who CHEATED the game. Hint… he’s a 6’9” traffic cone on defense and he currently wears a Lakers uniform. 😂
When it's all said & done, this isn't even going to be a debate

LeTraffic Cone.....I like it
Teams now want to run their offensive plays to whatever side Lebron is on because how weak he is defensively.
@doogiebear139 that's what the national teams did in the Olympics. Most players were trying to get LeBron switched onto them. It looked exactly like what the Celtics did to Luka in the Finals.
Lebron isn't a more complete player than Kobe. What happens is people think he's more complete because of his passing and rebounding. Kobe was an elite rebounder and passer for a shooting guard. It get's overlooked because his main job was to score and play defense. They started Kobe at the point for a stretch and he dropped a 17 assist game in that stretch. Because Lebron is a more willing passer and rebounder doesn't mean Kobe wasn't elite at it. But let's give them that Lebron is better at both and driving to the rim...who's a better scorer, defender, shooter, post player, left hand, counter move, mid-post, off ball, free throw shooter, pull up, below the finisher etc. etc.
If you want to include passing, then you have to compare his skills to Magic and Bird. Is he even on that level? NO!!!
@@bitmanagent67 huh?
Wow Kenny Smith hit the nail right on the head What that the first time I ever heard something like that other coach will run their offense base on what side he’s in the floor !!!
Not in his prime. At the peak of his career and his youth LeBron James could guard all five positions on the floor. That’s Chicago Bulls playoff series. He absolutely destroyed Rose.
@@dbreiden83080 LeBron could never guard all five positions on the floor, that's a claim the media made up since his sophomore season to make him look good. LeBron wasn't guarding Tim Duncan, Dwight Howard, Amare Stoudemire, etc. But yes, he could guard perimeter players.
@@dlt2k7
He didn't guard Duncan for 40 min, no big deal NOT like Jordan was checking Ewing and Shaq. But Lebron did check Duncan in spurts in fact he used to strip him all the time when Duncan would go for his turnaround hook shot..
@@dbreiden83080 nobody's ever told the lie that Jordan can guard all 5 positions, so there's no point in highlighting the fact that he couldn't guard Ewing. And LeBron never succeeded in guarding any version of Timmy D. It's all media narrative.

So you didn't watch him strip Timmy in the 2013 and 2014 finals in the post repeatedly then? Got it..
I just want to say this about the ELITE DEFENSE of MJ. He was to basketball on the defensive end what DEION SANDERS was at Corner to Football. Those that saw DEION play corner know EXACTLY what I mean. The man pretty much cut off half the field from opposing offenses.
MJ did that on the basketball court and also had the LUXURY of having Scottie Pippen as his defensive sidekick. The 2 of them used to strike FEAR into point guards bringing the ball upcourt.
Many times teams couldn't get the ball over half court for back to back to back posessions because of MJ and Scottie. Bron has NEVER been feared like that on defense...and as great as Kobe was on defense...HIM EITHER. MJ THE MOST COMPLETE BASKETBALL PLAYER EVER CREATED!

From the look of your comment you never saw Michael Jordan play but that’s OK because no one can hold that against you. That’s out of your control. Never trust a poll where LeBron is over Kobe
High basketball IQ is the equivalent to „he has a great personality“…
I was waiting for you to talk about this. Kenny broke it down. When the matter of longevity arose, I felt he should have said that one cannot compare career terms equally. One therefore has to use averages and achievements. But once you do that, the argument is still in Jordan's favour. Like A.I. said, you are great LeBron but you aren't HIM, and that's okay. They spoke on other sports and how only in the NBA someone can't be better than their elders. But, Tom Brady doesn't go around saying he's better than anyone. The fact is that what LeBron, his camp, and his stans are doing is watering down the NBA product and disrespecting the foundations which allow for today's careers to flourish.
"Preach" I felt that!!! Spreading the word of black jesus
You can put anyone at number 2 spot. But remember, the gap between MJ and whoever it is was not close as what you can think of.
“There’s them and there’s Mike”
This is that Michael Jordan couldn’t go left, which is just as stupid as saying that Michael Jackson couldn’t moonwalk! I saw Michael Jordyn driving left countless times and finishing with his left countless times, switching from a right hand to left hand countless times, doing reverse layups with his left-hand countless times, and coming up with defensive stops with his left hand countless times! Because I lived through the Michael Jordan era! I was born in 1977, and I fell in love with the game of basketball somewhere in the mid-80s, so I got to follow Michael Jordan pretty much for his entire career. Plus, there’s TH-cam dispels that myth that Michael Jordan couldn’t go left! And that so-called argument also flies in the face of common sense! You don’t win a record ten scoring titles and have the highest average in points in the history of the NBA for both the regular season and the playoffs in an era when hand-checking was allowed and bigs were allowed to man the middle, without having a left hand!
Lebron nowhere near the offensive player mike was10 time scoring champ to 1 title for lebron offensively and defensively lebron is nowhere near mike facts

The flaw in that argument is that Michael Jordan is on record saying he wanted to win the scoring title every single season. He even got into an argument with Malone about winning the scoring title. The eye test agrees with those polls. You don’t even have to look at the numbers.
He also brought up the importance of COLLEGE for player development
Nobody else ever said that
I just watched that video where kenny said jordan had no left and no handles 😂
No. In proper context, Kenny was laughing that Jacksons son asked if Jordan could go left? Kenny & Mark Jackson were laughing at the question😂 He didn't say Jordan had no left
School was in session that day.💯🏀🏀🏀
There's NEVER been any "LeBron Rules," nor had MJ ever needed to be pushed in the back by a teammate in order to get him to play defense.
Damn. I posted myself about this a few weeks ago. Great content 😊
The guys that have won Regular Sesaon MVP from The 60's, The 70's, The 80's, The 90's and The 00's would dominate The NBA today.
Any time someone agrees with DreamersPro the other person got annihilated 😂😂😂
Funny 🤣 how you never seen the ol Gs shutdown the his Airness empire when he was young. They knew what's up
Straight facts!
So are you saying LeBron didn’t have defense?
Plain and simple, Kenny is correct.
That’s NEW. Teams would construct their offenses depending on where Jordan is on the floor. I never thought about the Jordan’s defensive skills in that light.
This is the new Black Skip Bayless show. LeBron! LeBron! LeBron! LeBron! 🤦🏽♂️
Like you Dp I never thought this was a debate 🤷♂️
Watched the whole podcast and can easily say Kenny was on spot with everything he said. And the reason for his view is the New York mentality that he explained before. Watching the overall play and impact of the player on court and not just scoring or just assists. Also, he's right about average players today being average back in the 90s. And specialists wouldn't even be in the NBA, or would maybe come off the bench at certain points of the games. Athleticism didn't change, it's just that now it's more visible with being allowed to run thru defences like Jerry running past Tom. Back in the 90s you'd be put down..
To be fair, watched it, he was half joking. I mean, he cracked up on his own question. But the follow-ups on the value of playing multiple years of college hoops was fantastic. Kenny and Mark were sheer $.
I agree !!!
Kenny is a class act.
Jordan was the ultimate killer. I'd say that made all the difference in the world. He got the job done. He dominated teams filled with all-stars. He's the reason some of the greats never got rings, like Malone, Barkley, Stockton, Drexler and Ewing. No one dined under his watch. That's what it is.
Mark Jackson's son could not use the narrative that 90s players were plumbers which is usually the last shit Lebron fans say when they can no longer refute MJ's case.
Adding Tim Duncan would have changed that whole list.. Because LBJ would have to scoot down a little bit more.. 🤷🏿♂️
Like Kenny said in this podcast episode (if you watch the full episode you’ll see), a lot of why players today would struggle in the game from the 1980’s and 1990’s is because of the different rules. A lot of the moves like the step backs and the eurosteps would just flat out be called traveling back then, and it would be a turnover. It’s sloppy, careless and not truly skillful - they’ve relaxed the rules so much it’s like playground rules. So since they’ve relaxed the standards, a lot of guys that would otherwise be average to below average back in the 80’s or 90’s look like world beaters today. It’s easy to score if you can take 3-5 steps after you pick up your dribble instead of just 2. Yes, MJ could average 40+ easy in today’s game. He averaged 37.1 points per game in the 1986-87 season. Without shooting 3’s. That was just shooting 2’s and getting to the free throw line. Since there’s more emphasis on the 3 in today’s game, he would have shot and made more 3’s playing in today’s rules. He didn’t shoot many then because for the most part coaches back then saw the 3 as a gimmick and it was pretty much looked down on as a legitimate strategy - you shot them only if you needed to. Everything back then ran inside out because it was a big man dominated league.
Imagine how many points at the peak of his athleticism he could have scored on average if he shot the three more, and if there was no hand checking, and if there was the 3 second rule in place. No one could touch him, the driving lanes are wide open, and there’s no one at the rim to challenge him. No Patrick Ewing, no Dikembe, no Rik Smits, no Kareem, no Hakeem. And especially if Doug Collins was the coach - he ran EVERYTHING through MJ. He could average 40 easy. He lived at the rim and the free throw line then - his attempts at the rim and at the free throw line would probably double under these rules today.
And I had never heard of the point Kenny made here before I listened to the podcast - where coaches game planned for MJ AS A DEFENDER. It does make sense. It’s kind of like Wemby today - coaches have to take him into account, probably want to get him involved in some actions away from the basket so he’s nowhere near the rim - and hope you can get to the rim quick when you swing the ball around because he can cover ground quick. With MJ, it’s the fact he played the passing lanes as aggressively as anyone and was a terrific help defender. In the 1998 Finals prior to making the game winning shot, he stole the ball from Karl Malone on the post AS A HELP DEFENDER. Dennis was guarding Malone, I believe MJ was guarding Jeff Hornacek and Jeff was cutting behind Malone along the baseline and Jordan trailed him - but then came back to swat at the ball from Malone. That was as big of a championship winning play as the shot - if he doesn’t do that, there IS no shot at the other end of the floor.
He had a high basketball IQ, he was aware of time and score, he had great instincts and fundamentals, and he had an unmatched will to win. You’d be hard pressed to find someone else that was as high in ALL of these traits as he was in his playing days. Kobe may be one, Larry Bird and Magic may be others - I don’t think LeBron is close to Jordan in all of these categories. He’s an all time great for sure - but MJ is just head and shoulders above everyone else because he was at such a high level across the board in every meaningful basis of comparison. Like the Jet said - he was the most complete basketball player there’s ever been.
Don't understand the disrespect for the history of the NBA. Can't wait to see the current disrespecting fans & players become old(er).
Wizards Jordan faced Shaq and Kobe, while Phil Jackson was their coach. Lebron never faced anything like that. And if he did, his whole career, he wouldn't have any rings at all. In fact, Lebron had to wait until the players from the 90's got too old and injured to compete with him.
Dude shot ten free throw every game how hard could the game be
Teams also modified there defense to try and slow MJ down. It wasn't just the Pistons who implemented the "Jordan Rules"; numerous other teams adopted similar approaches. Another ability MJ had that surpasses LeBron and Kobe was his effectiveness in moving and playing without the ball in his hands. He was equally potent without the ball as he was while handling it 5 on 5 and in isolation.
"The apostleship in the Odyssey" 💀
Kuzma pushed Lestats into playing defense 😂😂😂
Unrelated question but has Shannon Sharpe ever interviewed Lebron? Cause that just make sense if Klutch pays him to tell Lebron's good side.
This was several months ago. It was hilarious.
I don't think LBJ has chased anything but greatness his entire career. He realizes he & MJ are 2 different players. No matter the era, they're different. Drastically Different!! He, just like all the others before him, is the best version of himself!
That's some Deion Sanders ish 😆 🤣
The skill level is way beyond when jordan was playing. I’m a fan of jordan but let’s be honest
One aspect to look at- Imagine Jordan a little taller and bigger with his game and LeBron a little shorter and smaller with his game.
I know that's not really a straight translation because the size you are will affect what positions you're put in growing up and what you will work on during your own time trying to improve your skills.
But a lot of LeBron's game is leveraging his size. And Jordan's approach and mentality to the game has always been different.
Jordan said that scoring 30+ a game all the time is easy. Make 4 shots a quarter. But he always approached the game that to win that may not be what is needed for any given game.
LeBron's approach has been to score because that was important to him constantly verifying his position among other greats of the league. And before anybody uses the "had no help" myth again, I tell them to look at the years that he was scoring a lot of points but felt no need to work on developing a shot.
If Jordan played 21yrs he would own EVERY record 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Kobe didn't make more all defensive first teams than Jordan. In fact, Jordan was the first in history to get 9.
Bro I feel like you're obsessed over this Bron and Jordan goat debate! 😂 Like once or twice every single week, you're posting what someone said about Bron not being the goat. It's hilarious to me. 😂😂
Bron drops 6 Finals in 8 straight seasons (2011-2018) But even before all that
-2007 Finals vs SA, shoots 35% for the series and gets swept.
-2008 ECSF vs BOS shoots 35% for the series "AGAIN" gets gentlemen swept 4-1
-2010 ECSF vs BOS
Collapsed in the Final 3 games of the series shooting 26% FG, and 14% 3PT.
And in the win or go home Gm 6, coughs up 9 turnovers, loses series 4-2.
-2011 Averages 17 PPG in the Finals vs Dal. (About 33% lower than his regular season PPG avg)
BUT WAIT.... In a crucial gm 4, the Heat desperately needed a win to tie the series or go down 3-1.
and LeBron goes for 8pts 3-11FG, 0-4 from deep, and 50% from the line playing 46 min
One of the worst implosions (If not the worst) by a top 25 player in a Finals game.
And then he went ahead and lost 6 of the next 8 straight Finals.
We don't even need to discuss his playoff performance woes with the Lakers.
If a guy plays great and up to or beyond his potential in the playoffs, but his team loses, we're not going to fault him.
But look at 2007, 08, 2010, and 2011 playoffs for example. In those 4 series, he played terribly, and they lost.
When Jordan was losing in The playoffs in the '80s, He was playing at such an incredible level, not to mention his insane numbers Even when losing.
The Bulls never lost in the playoffs because of Jordan, but in spite of how great he played.
And that's the difference between Jordan and LeBron. Jordan never had a statistically weak playoff series in his 51 appearances.
Jordan's worst of the worst playoff series was
1997 ECSF vs ATL
26.6PPG/ 10.2RPG/ 5.2APG/ 2.0SPG/ 1.4BPG shooting 45% for the series.
Out of 51 playoff series appearances, that's Jordan's worst statistical performance.
So when it comes to playoffs, and rising up when the lights shine brightest, in the biggest series, in the biggest games, LeBron often collapsed. And Jordan never ever did... Actually the opposite, Jordan rose up, and the numbers don't lie!
The discussion of LeBron actually passing MJ isn't even a discussion when we just look a little deeper. Just have to look at the playoffs.
Sorry about the long post but I hope some LeBron fans read it and learn something about their hero, I mean zero
Scotty was guarding the best players. Poor Pip.

I'm ecstatic that "Jet" has always told people what it is when the talk comes to his UNC brother. Seen Dog in college (who he played with), and against, while playing with the Kings and the Rockets, as to why Jordan is way better than the fake King.
When defense is taken into account, which it should, my all time favorite is Jason Kidd.

Fundamentally sound MJ & Kobe then you can add anyone else but those 2 are on class on it's own.
I agree with the Kobe Jordan on off ball defense. They really are different players no matter what the crazy lebron fans and casuals say.
Kenny has always hated on Kobe never gives him his due respect
Or Kenny Smith could be exaggerating 😂😂😂😂GOAT JAMES

there is simply nothing to discuss. People talking about Jordan vs LeBron is a fake GOAT debate. Kobe even entering the GOAT conversation is beyond bizarre
Lebron James is not an “all-around” player. This is one of the biggest myths in basketball.-He’s definitely not more of an all-round or more of a fundamentally sound player than Kobe.
When I think about it Lebron is closer to Shaq. But he's somehow above players because of a fake debate
He’s at worse, the second greatest player of all time to claim otherwise means you’re ignorant to the game of basketball. He has all the records, he has four NBA championships, he has the greatest longevity of all time. Michael Jordan is greater prime for prime OK that’s fine. LeBron James is second and honestly it’s not close.
@@dbreiden83080 I dislike when people try to say that when you think otherwise than them you are ignorant. I said what I said and I don't need to argue
However I want to make things clear for those who would try to argue this ,with me : for me he needs both records and championships. Jordan wasn't considered the greatest before he had the ladder and he still has records Lebron never will get (and some of his records were beaten by either Kobe, Wade or Jokic). So with everything he has he's not number 2 for me because using that logic can elevate everyone who played in the NBA for at least 18 years.
Also the losing records in the finals and the lack of defense since 2016. That alone ends the debate.
@@vectory674
That could end the debate for being the GOAT even though it is close thanks to the longevity argument.. But he is 2nd easily by any reasonable standard.. All NBA teams, MVP awards, titles, finals apps, AS selections, career numbers reg and postseason.. I mean dude Lebron is great..
@@dbreiden83080 if he's second for you that's great. He's not for me because I don't feel like some of his accolades are truly deserved and the longevity is not an argument if you don't win. And he didn't win ENOUGH in my eyes that's it.
@@vectory674
NOT deserved how? Because of who he played with? If that is the case the question is who is number 2? Someone like Kareem? Well he played and won 5 chips with Magic.. Got pretty lucky on that one.. Kobe got 3 with Shaq.. Lebron did team up and I didn't love it, but his game and the impact of it was massive..
I think MJ is a greater player than Lebron because his peak was higher, but why do Jordan fans have to constantly beat this dead horse of a topic? Comes off as very insecure to me, and also annoying 🙄😑.
Well said. MJ was perfect offensively and defensively.
AI answer, Kobe, Kareem or LeFraud were not good in defence.
Even in scoring, MJ was not only good but also decisive
Kawhi is the most complete player in this era but he's too injury prone to prove it.
His offense is elite and his defense is also elite, help defending, disruption of the passing lanes, deflections and so on and forth.
His scores with his left, dunks with his left, floaters, midrange, brilliant footwork, shoots the 3, long 2, passes the ball lead his team in points, rebounds org and def, assists, steals, blocks in his failed bubble run.
He's just too injury prone frustratingly so.
