@@duckjive1 Hy duck. In this vid they talk about Best scoring a hatrick for West Ham in a boxing day match. Do you have it? I looked (twice) through your lists but couldn't find it. Anychance of a link or pointer? Once again, many thanks. And a very Happy New Year to you and yours, too.
@@duckjive1 any chance of uploading from 2nd September 1978 the match between Liverpool vs Spurs. At anfield. The result 7:0. 😱 😱 . The spurs squad included Ardiles and Villa and Hoddle.
Did JP ever play as well? The commentator was wax & lyrical about him, calling him ubiquitous and a dynamo. I was at this game a fully deserved victory.
Chivers was an enigma looking for an answer he never really found. Even when scoring it all seemed too much introspection. The Press, fans got on his back. I think if he had left Spurs for Wolves, Southampton, Derby where pressure was less & more fun. Derby's Roger Davies a similar big lumbering centre forward got plenty goals, lost plenty goals but knew his limitations.
Yes, his lack of pace showed & he never was a defender with pace but knew exactly where to be & tackle with precision. Fulham was a good move & many pros he knew in the same boat arrived & a certain George Best arrived & Marsh too. Bet he enjoyed these last professional seasons.
Magic times.Thanks Duckjive1
Great footage an memories of how football an life used to be
Hey, Duck. Just wanted to say a big thanks for reminding me I was once young!

Excellent viewing...🤔⚽
Nice video 👍
Unfortunately days we will never see again...where 99% of players were British and football was fun.
Jennings Scullion and a Pat Morrissey hatrick. Brilliant !

If ever one game basically finished a player it was the Poland disaster for Chivers. He was never the same after that match
Agreed. He suffered a career-ending trauma after the Poland match at Wembley.

I do believe this match was the end of an era, from memory Gilzean lost his place after this game and hardly made the starting 11 again
@@duckjive1 Already do sir....
@@duckjive1 some great posts, real football in those days.
With Coates & Gilzean & their comb overs it looked like Dad's Army but great players both.
West Ham’s Keeper is mustard
Probably the last match Bobby Moore played for West Ham.
