Thank you for the video I had no idea that filter was even there so I pulled it out and I do believe that it was in there since 1999. You would touch it and it would disintegrate to your touch. So I thank you for that information.
Excellent solution. I hope that holds up to the attacking oils that come through that tube. My stock filter or whatever was in mine turned to sludge. I assume makeup pads will also be good because they're meant to handle harsh makeup removal chemicals.

You didn't know because you can run the bike perfectly fine without it.

Scotch pads will work too.
I used a green scotchbrite pad.
I ended up using the same thing. I was concerned about constricting airflow.
