I love this concept for a challenge and it fits in perfectly with my 2025 Sewing intentions. Lovely vlogs Una…. Looking forward to seeing how you get on ❤
@@SewLetsSparkleWithSam thank you Sam! Almost finished my first 2… Just buttons for Steve’s shirt now (done 2 of 7), having an ‘interesting’ time with the other project… 😂
Wildcard category is imperative! I so love this challenge and can’t wait to see how much we accomplish end of year! (I also haven’t made society dress yet 😂)
@@nicoled2831 Yes! Some people have built that into the challenge as a category itself which is very clever. I maybe should add that as a 5th category seeing as I only have 4… 🤔🤩
I love your Hepburn. Never thought of stripes, and it's perfect. I like the idea of a flexible list, because I don't know what I'm going to be interested in in August. I also really want to use stash fabric so that's going to guide a lot of decisions. 25 is too many for me this year! But I'm hoping to do more this year than last year.
@@elizabethanstuff4430 thank you! It’s my 2nd striped one - and my fave. 😉 Yay to flexibility! 🥳 I’m the same… Hey I’m not going to making 25 garments. That’s why I have a scrapbusting category. 😉 Plus we’re not far off the end of January so you could leave off 2-3 items also. Would that make it doable for you?
Great video! I love your logic and parameters. The flexibility of this challenge is great. I've tried to do make nine before but, like you say, plans change and excitement levels vary. I've got a few big things in mind which I want to get done but I'm excited to see what 25 things I end up with by the end of the year. 😊
@@patterntreasures thank you! Yes great to have those ideas and work them into the challenge as appropriate. I need things to be flexible… Yet seeing people participating sharing their makes is definitely helping me be accountable! 😂
@@sewvintageglam I've got all the supplies for a Betty dress. I just need to mock up the bodice. I've had my eye on the pattern since it was released and finally bought it in Gertie's Black Friday sale last year. The fabric is a vintage black and blue floral cotton and the cummerbund will be blue. So excited to make a nice cold weather dress. That's a big hole in my wardrobe.
Lovely video. I tent to participate in monthly sewing challenges (when the theme fits into my overall plans for a specific period) Last year, I did the first time to make 9. It was quite successful (almost 6 makes). This year, I decided to do out of the box, make 9, and I am quite excited about it. I tent to sew what we need - I sew the majority of clothes for my family (2 adults and a teen), so I usually stick to basics Best of luck with your challenge
@@InAgatasCottage thank you 🙏 Did you know @StashHub has a blog with a monthly challenge calendar? I’m hoping to tie some in with my sewing plans… Yes it’s good to see what you need. I think my problem is I have a LOT of wardrobe gaps! 😂 Best of luck with your make 9. 🤩
@sewvintageglam I know. I love stash hub and I keep telling all my sewing friends about it :D I was recently "interviewed " by Yvette in Stash Hub chats
One of my parameters is definitely "seasonal". In Sweden we get ALL the seasons and they are quite different. In Stockholm it can go from -15 in the winter to over +30 in the summer, so a lot of projects just do not make sense to do at certain times. So I organise my projects by season first, and then spin the wheel to pick from the current season's list.
@@AngelikaOlsson great idea 💡 While our temperatures don’t vary as widely, we have definite seasons too and I’ll be considering that when choosing my projects. 👍
I'm so behind with Gertie's Patreon. I've had the patterns printer and bought the fabrics then never made them! I won't commit to this challenge but you have inspired me to actually plan out what projects I want to do ❤
@@velvetycleopatra then this video has done its job… 😂 Note it doesn’t have to be 25 garments - I’m doing a scrapbusting category because I’m lucky to do 12-14 garments a year. 😜
@@velvetycleopatra almost every time I’m adding my Gertie patterns to Stash Hub I’m getting excited by them again… It’s been 4-5 years of Patreon and I’ve only made a handful! 🙈 More to come though. It’ll be fun to see what I end up with. 🤩
@@lovejohandmade sure Jo. Won’t be in the immediate future because I’ve got certain content planned. But maybe the next time I’m making adjustments or playing pattern Tetris I could give an overview. 🤔
