Much as I am a proud Glaswegian. In Fife there is a village called Falkland, it has a pie shop, if you go there you will find the best pies you have ever had. I would particularly recommend the steak and haggis pie. Oh, and probably don't trust what the locals say about the house up the road.
I started my career as a Chef in the County Hotel Ayr in 1976 where the Sous Chef was Jenny or Old Jenny as we called her. She was a Baker by Profession and to this day I have never tasted better Cakes,Scone and her Pate a Sucre was heavenly. She even made Pate Feuilletee (Puff Pastry). Scottish bakery has always been of a high standard. R.I.P Jenny I have never forgotten you and still to this day admire and respect your skill.🏴🏴
I'm going to Edinburgh in April. Been following your channel for a while and anxious to visit all the places you have been suggesting in your videos. Thank you
Looking at all those delicious 😋 treats in the window made me so hungry here! Thanks for sharing this video of the most recommended bakeries there in Scotland 🏴
🙏thank you guys so so much for including vegan spots in your videos! I love ❤️ I love ❤️ thank you for your beautiful channel I love you guys so much 💕
I have to admit I really do love Outlier and 12 triangles so much that I am pleased with the choice. The quality of Kvasa is outstanding too but they don't have the biggest selection especially compared to the others.
Hi Kakibot, In my opinion if you would like a cake shop or afternoon Tea then you must visit Sugarfall on Byres Road, Glasgow. I delivered to them recently and quite simply was astounded at the Cakes. All Homemade and i guarantee you will be speechless when you walk in to their Cafe. Unbelievable. Stevie in Fife.
I'm watching this video, and making lots of notes! Usually when a bakery opens up in my area, all they seem to end up doing is very underwhelming tray bakes for inflated prices. I much prefer pastries and doughnuts to dry brownies and blondies. Some great bakeries I've visited are Manuela's Wee Bakery in Dornie, the Bakehouse & Crannog in Mallaig, Drymen Bakery & Deli in Drymen (they seem to sell out very quickly, probably because they're just off the West Highland Way), and Helmi's Bakery (branches in Rothesay, Bearsden & Glasgow). I'm also a fan of Tantrum Donuts, though they're really well known so probably don't need any publicity. Their Pistachio & Hibiscus donut is amazing.
Shoutout to Mhor Bread in Callander! Many times I have made my trip home from Edinburgh to Skye an hour longer just to take the scenic route through Callander to visit this bakery, it's sensational!
Love, love pastries and bakes, and as someone who lived in Leith I was expecting some familiar names on here but definitely not Twelve Triangles. I think they are extremely overhyped and their bakes are dense, stale and expensive. However Polentoni on Easter Road is amazing! I very much miss being able to get a loaded foccaccia on my way to the city. Also Rocksalt near the Shore, is brilliant! But I appreciate you didn't write this list, just simply followed the book and shared your experience.
Hi All, if you want to visit a fantastic bakery get down to Bulldog Bakes in Galashiels .... omg it's amazing. It's dog friendly so you can take your pooch in. The most amazing coffee's, tea's, smoothie's & the best hot chocolate you will taste anywhere !! Their cakes, brownies & cheesecakes ❤ they bake their own sourdough rolls every morning for various filled rolls & breakfast rolls ..... I wish I lived closer so I could go more often 😂❤
What a great video! Some many places to discover! I am based in Glasgow and surprised that cottonrake hasn't made it, it's my favourite by far. Unrelated to the content, is there a reason why you don't add the time codes to your videos?
Cubanos... I know Cubans make a "Cuban" sandwich with mustard on the breads, sliced ham, roasted pork, Swiss cheese, Pickles, Salami. The Cubano at KAF looks similar except the Pulled pork.
Hi there, I'm sorry to hear that you experienced issues with the sound. We do our best to shoot in quiet places when talking to the camera but unfortunately sometimes background noise is unavoidable. The intro was shot next to a river and so while we tried to reduce the rumble, it was still present.

Interesting! I love visiting Falkland - what a pretty place. Never tried much of their food scene though, so it's good to have a tip to go after! .)

I’m a big fan of Mhor in Callander. And of XOKO in Inverness. Both really worth a visit.
This project was a labour of love, and we had a blast making it. Which other bakeries do you all think should be in a future video?
L'Angelou on Northfield Broadway (a stone's throw from Jock's Lodge) is a wee gem, authentically French.
La Ballantine entire menu ! Hi Simon - Tom Chapman
@@oddjockI agree! Fantastic little bakery
We have to keep these beautiful shops open❤

Another one for you to try STATION HOUSE BAKERY, Hospital road 4 Station Yard ,Haddington.

Oooh interesting! I have been wondering whether they are a bit style over substance but now I am intrigued!

Thanks ❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊
Yum yum yum. I have only been to Aran out of all of those, but looking forward to trying the rest!
Im looking forward to your list of best bakeries.
Dunkeld is so beautiful.
Cinnamon buns from Deanston Bakery in Glasgow Southside are amazing!

Polentoni is such a hidden gem!! We used to get the garlic/spinach/eggy bread there during lockdowns, used to be absolutely obsessed with it!!

I was expecting to see The Pastry Section which has an amazing array of different cakes each day.
I knoooow it’s my favourite cake in all of Edinburgh!! (Not counting when someone bakes a cake specifically for me hehe)
Please up which scorn is best5 in Edinburg.
Aran? SO the bakery is literally called BREAD in Gaelic.
Indeed!
Cubanos... I know Cubans make a "Cuban" sandwich with mustard on the breads, sliced ham, roasted pork, Swiss cheese, Pickles, Salami. The Cubano at KAF looks similar except the Pulled pork.
The price has gone up for baked goods :( I like Patina and palmerston as well but Patina prices definitely went up a lot
I still need to go check Patina out! At least it’s still cheaper than most other dining out I guess 🫥
Now I just want to eat baked goods for the rest of the day. 😂 But sounds like maybe someone else needs to write a book about best bakeries, maybe… >.>
Hopefully a "foldable pocket sized pamphlet" will be enough for now! .D
@ Can’t wait for that!!
Yummmmmmm❤🇺🇸
Malin thom from sueden
Would be nice to have some gluten free baking.
Sorry but that wiht Malin for get you prettiy you really you are thom from sueden❤😊
Why not go to Perth, the nearest city to Dunked it has lots of local businesses
My stupid brother say something but me agen
No bakeries in Northern Ireland???
I think the book is just about Scottish bakeries.
@rosemarymee It can't be as she said that there were only 2 bakeries in Wales mentioned in the book.
I am hearing impaired. It is impossible to u derstand what you are saying because,of the tremendous background noise 😢

This video is an early Christmas present! Thank you :)
Glad it's appreciated!
