We stayed at the lovely InterContinental Resort and Spa; a five star hotel that offers something for everyone: families and kids, all-inclusive guests, couples and people just looking to relax.

Um -Ul Quwain (smallest emirate) if you want that small town vibe. Also check out 'Khor Fakkan' on the opposite coastline (Fujairah) as well as 'Hatta Fort (Dubai) but on Oman border. Also dont neglect 'Al- Ain' (Abu dhabi) especially the water sports park (canoeing, surfing and rafting) and 'Siri Baniyas island - wildlife reserve' (Abu Dhabi).
