  • I was extremely happy to celebrate the momentous occasion of Sadhguru's Enlightenment Day on Sep 23, 2020 by presenting this jugalbandhi (duet) along with my good friend and national award winning vocalist, Mahesh Kale, and the fabulous Sounds of Isha.
We hope you enjoy this unique combination of Thillana and Tharana in the ragam Sindhubhairavi.

    More about the composition:
Thillana and Tharana, (featured traditionally in Carnatic and Hindustani art forms respectively), are both rhythm oriented pieces that use a unique combination of rhythmic syllables and lyrics. Mahesh and I decided to bring together the traditions of the North and South by putting together these two pieces in ragam Sindhubhairavi. Our offering concludes with these lyrics...
    Ekam nithyam vimalam achalam
    sarva dhi sAkshi bhootham
    bhAvAtheetham thriguNa rahitham
    sadhgurum tham namAmi
    Meaning:
The one who is eternal, pure, unchanging, and witness of cosmic intelligence. Beyond existence, and without the three forces (purity, action, inertia)... I bow to that Guru.
