I grew up in Vermont , lived in winooski , Colchester area and in 1986 my wife and I were parked in a car on the banks of the lamoile river , not far from lake champlain . something swam by , headed towards the lake , under the water that was so big it left a wake like a boat had gone by. I was stunned by the amount of wake this creature had left. The wake hit both banks of the river hard. My thought was , whatever it was , it must have been like 800 pounds or more . My dad said it must have been a huge sturgeon. But I had my doubts . whatever it was , it was huge . if it was champ , I think my car stereo , which was quite loud , kept him under the water.
Your dad may be right. For years there were stories of the Lake Tahoe Monster , turns out the sightings were of fresh water sturgeon , that are gigantic, and occasionally come up to the surface.
Grew up around the finger lakes, been to champlain a number of times as well. All of these glacial lakes have at least a few monster stories. The most compelling explanation I ever heard was stories of 6 foot juvenile eels being found, these would have a projected full grown size of 60+ feet
Hey Seth and crew...I am also in NE Ohio and I LOVE cryptozoology and I am so happy to have new cool stuff to watch. Thank You to all of you for all you do.
You lack objective thinking my friend lumping Bigfoot with Champ, etc., together. The possibility of one or more of these phenomena actually existing does in no way justify the veracity of the others existing. Each needs to be studied and vetted based the results of its own data, facts, merits. I’m afraid all ‘Champ’ has going for ‘it’ is a few humps-n-bumps sightings and zero probability based on paleontology, biology, and good ol common sense.
I live here in vermont used to live in Burlington right up the road by the waterfront. Always hung out down there. I never saw anything personally and still haven't but do believe champ very well could exist! Fun fact: we have a baseball team named the lakemonsters and the. Mascot is of course champ. Went to my first game this past summer, it was awesome.
Thanks for putting this on TH-cam!!! I've seen 20 minutes of the beast of Whitehall, but I've heard you as a guest on alot of shows(i.e. where did the road go) and have always wanted to see an entire small town monsters movie!!! Thanks!!!!
I believe there's an underground water Cavern that house has a lot of these ancient creatures. I believe a lot of these ancient structures still exist today left over from prehistoric times. What do you think? Open Forum anyone.
The sightings historically appear in 10-15 year sequence basically as a juvenile is attaining it's full growth and possibly exploring it's habitat and feeling it's invulnerable as is the case with most species. Just an observation.
Not to be the sceptic one here but if the champlain sea had some kind of plesiosaurus we will had found fossils of thoses so i think it just people who have seen some other marin mamal , like two seal playing with each other. Because they all say having see gray skin and seal do have so i dont know i really hope that there are still some beautiful plesiosaurus alive but it kinda imposible.
@@emcee2603 still, very much more likely than a giant serpent-like creature that nobody’s ever really seen properly eventhough it’s apparently spotted very frequently. Who’s laughing now.
Even though I feel the champ creature is a myth I wish there really was a loch ness monster roaming around in the lake, the thought of it is extraordinary 😊
I first heard of Champy from a TV Show Unsolved Mysteries hosted by an actor of 40's & 50's Robert Stack. Some cable channel's still Air them, Unsolved Mysteries was cool because it introduce both people's point of view on Champy skeptics & true believers utilizing scientific data. By the way photo was proven Not a Fake Since, Unsolved Mysteries aired on TV I've seen numerous documentaries on the Subject pertaining to Lake Monster's. In fact I heard of Champy long before Loch Ness in Scotland both creature's sighted going back Centuries. Two day's ago it hit me the famous photo of Champy the animal in the Water it has one hump. Why is the one hump important? Because multiple witnesses out in there boat's an on land have testified to seeing an animal out there with 3 humps. Bottom line there's two different reptilian species within that Lake. The first one's been identified through the photo, an that's Champy. We still don't know enough about Champy and it's running mate within Champlain why not consider what we do know. First much of what we have is circumstantial evidence but often people convicted of crimes can go too prison for much less of course that relates to human nature. In this case one would be operating in Science, & supposedly according to said Movie Concussion Dr. Omalu is told that Science is about KNOWING. Through Theory of Evolution Darwin's scholars surmise it's impossible for that animal to be a Plesio yet, clearly the animal in said picture is not a Whale or The Amazon Dolphin in Brazil; especially, since there pink, they definitely aren't Manatees. To me, when, I look at the one photo, I see a Plesio. No one's been able to get a picture of the 3 hump animal and yet people have continually seen that one as well. Here lies my limited knowledge on reptiles that I'll use as a comparison let's begin with Sea Snakes. Sea Snakes can travel on land or swim in the ocean. They can hold their breath a long time but eventually like their cousins the Sea Turtle's come up for Air. They usually swim around coral reefs stalking its favorite prey Moral Eels (I thought that fish was a top Predator). It's quite bashful an timid when it comes too interacting with people accept I suppose Mating Season; yet, Sea Snakes are in fact Venomous. The two creature's in Lake Champlain are both bashful an timid they pop out for a breath of air when they feel secure an pretty much avoids people just like Sea Snakes do. We don't know if these guys are Venomous, clearly their not electric if they were to bite Us we don't exactly have an antidote like that of the Sea Snakes. So this is my View Point on the Subject of Lake Champlain.
Could it be a giant salamander species from prehistoric times or what about one of the ancestors of modern sea turtles the one with no shell or maybe a soft shell variant i hope any and all are true
Champ is REAL trust me on that there is actually a abc news footage caught by two fishermen back in 2005 and the whole video was never shown to the public and the cryptozoologists who saw the whole footage say ITS NOT A HOAX and that it shows a long necked plesiosaur or turtle like animal up close and personal and the animal was about 15 to 20 feet long swimming next to their boat sadly the video costs 100000 dollars to just buy it sadly
My question is what does this huge thing eat if it travels between here and to Loch Ness etc. we wouldn't have to worry about sharks and other creepy maneaters if it does eat fish. Great video, love this stuff.
If there were a breeding population of lake monsters, I’m pretty sure we’d have a lot more evidence. Still fun to consider the history, and psychology that goes into such a thing.
You guys are all silly I know EXACTLY what it is. I guess I will you all what it really is. It is the alien version of a pet dog, what you are seeing is when the alien's take them out for a swim (walk). If you ever come face to face with one you had better have tree fiddy on you or you are in big trouble. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Petroglyphs in the first photo with the woman who I presume discovered them are actually runes and they were likely carved by the Norse explorers who never settled here but in fact visited peacefully long before Champlain "discovered" it and colonized while stealing land from the indigenous tribes.
Why do you say, it was first discovered by some European...Indigenous peoples, Vikings and the Chinese came here WAY before any European, I guess in ur opinion, Columbus 'discovered' America too...hahahaha...
Sound like a 5 year old. Discovered as in by the western point of view. Not that hard to understand smart ass. I’m sure we all know indigenous were here a long time ago. And when did the Chinese come to lake Champlain? I’ve certainly never heard that one lolol Chinese came to the lake before Champlain did? I want what you’re smoking

i am from Whitehall N.Y it is also known for bigfoot sightings well over 150 of them i grew up there in the early 70;s and 80;s
70's an 80's were the most exciting times for Sasquatch sightings 👮 officers and many others!

Adults and juveniles, God bless you and your family.
What documentary shows a video of champ towards the end? I thought it was small town monsters

Champ or not, it is a beautiful lake.
You ever catch one?

long necked seal is more plausible than plesiosaur imo
