Udaipur, India ➖ I came across a local leather craftsman here in Udaipur and wanted to get a custom case for my Air Pods. The gentleman inspected the goods and got straight into the design by measuring and cutting the leather. I was unsure how it was going to turn out, but after about an hour, we had an awesome custom case for my Air Pods.

It's very good that you went to this particular shop because firstly he didn't try to scam you knowing you are a foreigner and secondly he's obviously very skilled at his work and him being happy hearing you are from Australia where his friend is just concludes that he's a really good hardworking person the tip you gave him was totally worth it

He only charge 500+200 =700 and that's reasonable price rest money was given to him by a luke as a tip for his hard work and kindness .

I did the conversion, this dude charged you $6.15 for that Air Pod cover, here in the states, that would have been $20 easy. He did really nice work! No wait, that would have cost $40 here, he spent an hour working on it. I'm impressed.
no one is doing leather work this custom and detailed in the states for less than $200 tbh

In Norway that would SERIOUSLY be like $200-$300 depends on some stuff...... If it wasn't leather then like $60-$100 and if it wasn't even hand made still expensive lmao, like $30-$50. Norway you get robbed just entering a shop, i hate here !!!! 1 Lemonade or 1 Ice Tea from the street is $9-$12 LOL.....
In Switzerland this would have cost 700-1000 USD
The local vendors are the real gem of India.....so proud ....jai hind 🇮🇳

It’s uncomprehending that a guy so talented in leather craft only charges 500 rupees which equates to only $6.15 UDS for making this product. That in essence means he makes 8 to 10¢ a minute. I would say the material costs $1.15 so he made $5 for labor. That’s CRAZY!
I don’t think originally Luke wanted the leather glued onto the case rather he wanted a separate case which he could put the air pod case into. So I’m not really sure how Luke feels about what he really got. Wow - so the guy is putting leather on the top. Just like Luke I was not expecting him to do that as well.
I know he got a nice ‘tip’.
Being an Indian I feel really proud this local vendor...He was such a professional and pure soul ...He didn't try to scam you....To be frank for such precision work it shouldve been worth more than the ask price... .Really thank you luke for such an amazing content ...God bless than talented gentleman..Loved that craftsmanship...Wish him all the goodness for a wonderful life ...Thanks again loved it!!
He was such a skillful leather-smith. Beautiful work and so much focus in his process. ❤️
What I didn't like was how it had to be permanently glued to the case, but the art with the gem was very nice.

@@amr2568 it's much better than ready made cheap quality shit that we usually get for 5$
But it isn't his fault, Luke should have told or stopped him from applying glue to the case. And you can also make assumption form the architecture behavior that he doesn't know well about airpods, it maybe his 1st Or 2nd time making cover of earphone case.

Hey Luke if you have already visited the street part of udaipur already you can visit the main city part too it's beautiful like fateh sagar good hotels and stuff you will surely love udaipur
If you re looking for hiking you can also visit few mountains like neemaj mata sajjan garh etc
Man you really need a indian guy who can guide you and you will just explore the best side of udaipur

Just a quick note on air pods…
You can use rubbing alcohol to clean the case. Ear wax can be removed with Q Tips & a bit of rubbing alcohol
