  • It's the afternoon session at Hervey Bay! I was looking for moon snails, and I sure found them... and so much more!! I am absolutely stoked with my giant Brown-lined Paper Bubble. In the past, I had heard that these shells could grow to lengths of over an inch, but I never thought that I'd be luck enough to come across one for myself! This one is just perfect, too. As always, thank you so much for watching~
    Morning at Burrum Heads: • Finding Seashells at L...
    Let me know which ones were your favourites ;D and if you enjoyed this and want to see more shell finding videos, I'd appreciate a like or a comment. I read all of them and try to reply when I can. You have no idea how much of a smile you guys put on my face. Thanks everyone!

    I didn't even realise that Hervey Bay and it's surrounding beaches had such lovely seashells until I saw "Shellcade Shelling Down Under" - I admired him a lot, and you can also check out his videos here:

    I’m sorry for dropping all of the shells this time 😅 My excuse should be that there was a tiny piece of a sea urchin spine (like a wood splinter) in my thumb...but truthfully, I didn’t notice it was there until many hours later 😂 Fun fact, ever time I collect sea urchins from Burrum Heads, I have at least one splinter to dig out by the end of the day 😆 Take care while picking up pointy things, kids!

    Hey Maddie...I agree with your favorite today...the Brown Lined Paper Bubble...it was epic !! The swollen Wide-mouthed Top Shell was interesting and I always like it when you find the Dog Whelks. Thanks again and hugs from Ontario, Canada.................Wanda

      G'day Wanda 👋🏻💖 Yes!!! Epic is the right word for this one 😁 I still can't believe that it was unbroken with all of the lined patterns intact; they can wear away to easily! I can't only imagine how large the snail must have been, I wish I could have seen it while it was alive. Oh wow, the Swollen Wide-mouthed Top Shell gets a mention too- it think it's a crowd favourite this time! Ahh and thank you, those Dog Whelks don't get enough love...but I guess they do look like a less interesting and smaller version of the Common Nutmegs from all of the Florida shelling videos, so I understand 🤣 I don't think my Jewelled Dog Whelks can have any patterns. Anyhoo! Thank you so much for watching 🥰

    Good morning, Maddie
    Looks like you had a great day. The brown lined paper bubble was just so amazing. Love the wide mouth top shell. The turkey wing, all the scallops, the flat scallops are awsome, flinders shells, dog whelkes, the murexs all of them, the Haynes turban, the moon snails are just so different and lovely colors. There are so many shells today. They are all beautiful. I really enjoy all shells. Even with people stepping on a few of them. Thank you for another wonderful shelling adventure. Thank for sharing your time with us. It makes me relax and just enjoy how excited you get. I know I would be the same way. Hope you are doing well. Things are going slow but everyday a little better. Things are still very slow but I do see a little different everyday or almost everyday. With everything I went through was more than I ever expected.
    Have a marvelous day Maddie
    Thank you again.

      G'day Toni 👋🏻🏖️ Oh yes, this was a nice day out at the beach(es); it's nice to be out in the sunshine on these cooler winter days. That Wide-mouthed Top Shell is a crowd favourite this time, I really like it, but it actually surprises me how many other people like it as well! I love how you always give a bit of love to all of the shells; those bivlaves need more than what I'm giving them, especially when those turkey wings are excellent from this beach 🤩 The murexes were a lot of fun to find, I'm glad I found a few on one side of the beach before going in the other directions to find more moon snails. Thank you so much for coming along on another big shelling adventure, I'm so happy that you enjoy seeing these little gifts from nature. Thank you for letting me know how you're doing. I know I say this a lot, but you're probably one of the strongest people that I know. Life puts you down, but you'll never stop it from letting you back up again. Have a wonderful week, Toni, and thank you so much for watching 🥰

    The big sundial you found is very similar to what I find at Matagorda Beach. ☀️☀️☀️ I still pick up everyone I see even if it’s broken. That GIANT paper bubble was gorgeous! What a find. 🎉 The lamalite venuses are beautiful too! I’m really partial to the swollen wide mouth top shell. Love those flats! Too many favorites today!!! Thank you Maddie for another wonderful video! 🥰🥰🥰

    • @SandCoffeeRocks
      @SandCoffeeRocks  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      G'day Pam 👋🏻💖 I suspect that our two Sundials from here and Matagorda may even be the same species?? I know, I usually don't say this because of the distance: we have similar shells, but never ones that are the same (Bladder Moon Snails VS Sharkeye) but this time??? I actually don't know enough about your sundials; I tried researching them in the past, but I came up with them being a Perspective Sundial too, and I never learned if that was right or wrong. I digress 😅. YES that Paper Bubble is HUGE! It's no longer a microshell, but a shell...shell!! The Lamellate Venuses were particularly nice today too, and gosh, a few people have mentioned the Swollen Wide-mouthed Top Shell this time; it was a lovely bit pale pink! Your favourite colour still? It sure was an interesting day! Thanks again for watching the big adventure 🥰

    Hi Maddie, that was an enormous bubble shell! That broken sundial was amazing too. Loved that wide mouth top shell, really unusual. Cute dog whelk. Always love a Haynes Turban. Hope the strombus was stink free😂

The sundial was interesting... it gives me hope to someday find an intact one someda 😁 Ahhh, you know, I don't think I'd mind a stinky strombus a this point! I haven't found a nice one in ages; there are too many damaged and sunbleached ones that just aren't as nice as the disgusting stinky ones 😂 is something wrong with me?? Be honest!! G'day Sheila 👋🏻💖 Hehehe yess, our top favourites match up!! I don't know if you're still picking them before I announce my own, but I think the Paper Bubble deserves all the love this time. That Swollen Wide-mouthed Top Shell was nice too; very light pink! I though the pink colour would be more vibrant, but this one didn't change much with the oil. Oh, and the Vitate Cone too! I hope yo someday find a perfect Vitate Cone; sometimes they even have patterns on the shell that are similar to Campbell's Strombuses. I hope you had a great weekend, and thanks for watching 🥰

    1st the moonsnail from the footprint😂
    2nd brown lined paper bubble
    3rd vitate conch (idk why I like the shape and the white color of it)
    The rest actually also pretty, including the bivalves,

      G’day Nelly 👋🏻💖 You’re up late, but luckily it’s the weekend 😂! Hahaha, that moon snail was perfectly squashed in the footprint, wasn’t it! I don’t think that felt good for the personal walking over it! Ah, so of course, the Brown-lined Paper Bubble is second; I’m glad that you liked that one too, the pattern on it was fantastic! Oh wow, number three was a true surprise 😲 the Vitate Conch! These Vitate Conches usually don’t have many patterns, but this one is maybe a bit beach worn...still, it’s shape is really nice on this species! Awww thank you for your kind words once again 🙏🏻 and thank you so much for watching so late at night 🥰

    Great trip for shells,Maddie 😊! This bivalve here
    Placamen lamellatum is prized by collectors for its beauty🤗 But this interesting shell Stomatia phymotis, at first I thought it was a haliotis😅 Due to circumstances, I haven’t been filming or watching videos lately, but I’ll definitely watch the ones you made during this time😊

    • @SandCoffeeRocks
      @SandCoffeeRocks  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      G'day Mikhail 👋🏻🏖️ Oh is it! I didn't know that it was a prized one; it's certainly beautiful enough! Do you think it is actually Placamen lamellatum? I had trouble with finding a perfect match on the Internet to these ones that I find at Hervey Bay. Ahhh yes, Stomatia phymotis is often confused for a haliotis shell! It's a really weird one. Another weird on that I mistook for a haliotis is a Stomatella impertusa; I found a tiny one many months ago that really confused me 🤣! Oh no Mikhail, I hope your busy circumstances pass quickly so that you can have a little more free time. I will spend this time catching up on your videos too. I think I have too many videos though, so maybe just pick the most interesting one 😂 Thanks for watching 🥰

      @@SandCoffeeRocks G'day Maddie 😊👋 Yes, it happens here that Placamen lamellatum in good condition and with a beautiful shell sculpture was sold 10 ~ more expensive than on eBay and sites selling shells👀; honestly, I don’t know whether anyone bought it or not, but it happened😅. Probably bivalve lovers ended up buying it🙂.
      Yes, I will disappear for a while, then probably in July I will make an issue about one of the most unusual👽 and famous cowries from South Africa, you can probably watch it, for it I will have to re-read a lot of different literature😂📚📖📚

      @@mikhail-tikhonov Oh wow, I feel like I'd be rich if I sold me collection of Placamen Lamellatum 😂 but I don't think anyone bought the one you saw at that price! This reminds me that I need to create and account on the Shell Auctions website so I can have a look for myself! Ohhhh I am very interested in this Cowrie???!!! It's a shame that you'll be busy until July, but that is how life is sometimes 😔 So for this mystery Cowrie, is it a big one or a small one? Oh 👽, is it that, uhhh, one that looks like a fingerprint? And you guessed a little wrong with the cowries😂, I’ll make a video about those cowries that live deep and wear a Maltese cross on their back😁. True, the condition of my shell is somewhat unsatisfactory and the cross is not particularly visible there🤭😂

    • @SandCoffeeRocks
      @SandCoffeeRocks  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Good question 🤔 I think it’s mostly because there are thousands of them on the beach, and many of them are worn or sun-bleached. They’re very common like this, and they don’t hold my interest as much as the fresher ones (with more colours and textures intact), so in the end, I don’t pick up a lot of clam shells. I did collect a few though, those Antiquated Surf Clams are cool when they’re shiny and joined like that! Thanks again for watching another big adventure ❤️🐚
