Most recently he was arrested for invading the capital building on Jan 6th. Yup he was one of the guys in the pictures. He was arrested by the fbi and let out on bail I believe. After that the singer quit the band and that’s why they released trash. Shame too because he was a good guitarist

So I think it's reasonable that Fantano would give a listen to something that the guy made afterwards, lmao. Jon Schaffer was actually a big figure on the Power Metal stage, despite him being outspoken on his political views, but noone could tolerate him anymore after what he did.
Didn't know they had a new album out. I doubt it's one of the worst of the year if it's anything like their older stuff. People might not like his views/actions, but that doesn't automatically mean the music is bad.

City of Delusions is literally a song about breaking free from state propaganda and fighting against corrupt power. Absolution had songs about the apocalypse, mass hysteria, and a bunch of other conspiratorial topics. Their vague politics goes all the way back through their discog, or at least to Origin of Symmetry. I haven't listened to Showbiz but apparently it's heavily comparable to Radiohead so take that how you will.

I used to be a Muse fan, origin of symmetry is one of my favourite albums of all time. But fuck, I absolutely despise will of the people, except kill of be killed, that was a pretty fun song in my opinion but it was flawed. The rest of the album is absolutely despicable, cheesy and just dissapointing. Especially the halloween bullshit.

I don’t listen to them, but i am slightly aware of the situation. The guitarist got kicked out, and I think the band broke up afterwards (if not broken up then just left very scrambled and messy). You could just google the drama and get an idea of what had gone down.
