Hi Julie this is Grace thankyou for your videos they have help me alots i just took my exams today in Texas both written and skills and i have passed thankyou so much keep safe God bless you

Hi, Jazmin! Body mechanics is not scored during testing. If you raise the height of the bed, you must remember to lower it to a safe position before you walk away from it. I strongly recommend not doing so, as you will be nervous during testing and might forget to lower the bed. This could cause you to fail due to safety.
Hi, Horn Man! Not exactly. Having the client to position themselves in the two manners you describe would actually increase the candidates risk of overexposing the client. Furthermore, raising the HOB is wasting the candidates allotted time. However, you may perform this step in any manner you feel comfortable. This is how I train my students to perform this skill. It it has not failed them, to date!!!
If my next skill is something where they have to be wearing a gown, at what point do you take off this shirt and put on a gown for the next skill? Same with positioning a patient on their side, once you say your skill is complete do you take the pillows out before starting the next skill? Ty so much
Hi julie! How r ya ?... I passed my skills ( 2nd time ) and I passed my written (1st time ). Followed all ur study tips and all ur produres... Watched ur videos every day! Thank u soo much💖💖🙂
Hi, Samii! You may either dress the person while the person is lying in the bed or sitting in the bed. Although I train my students to perform this skill both ways, I encourage my students to perform this skill while the person is lying in the bed. Performing the skill this way will lower your risk for overexposing the client while undressing and dressing.
Hi, Kemi! Are you referring to the HOB or the height of the bed? If you are referring to the height of the bed, ensure you lower it before leaving the bedside. Also, remember you are being timed. Unless required to do so, I always encourage folks not to, as this will waste your time. But, if you feel you need to, although it is not required, you may.Yes, you may.
