YOUR DISMANTLING YOUR PALLETS WRONG!

แชร์

  • เผยแพร่เมื่อ 10 มิ.ย. 2015
  • This is me working. Dismantling pallets for material. For building and repairing pallets as well as building furniture.
    Quick way to take boards off pallets to create furniture ideas. Taking nails out of pallets but leaving the heads if you don't plan on plaining them.
    Plaining pallet wood is a different story though with an ap700 it makes it easy to take nails out of the pallet wood.
    Building furniture is easy with simple pallet wood ideas for building pallet furniture and finding pallets is easy when you work at a pallet depot.
    Better than any pallet buster by far,
    Thanks for watching !

      Half million? That entire setup used is less than $20k. You can find just the dismantle for less than $5k.

    Available now at Home Depot LOL thanks for posting the video. There’s so many complainers on this video why don’t they just accept it for what it is? I know about this piece of machinery because an ex friend of mine owns a company here in San Antonio but I have never seen it in action. So to the gentleman that posted this video thank you very much 👍

    Used to work at a pallet recycling yard. Was pretty good at using the band saw. That guy needsto be careful at the end cause the bandsaw will fling those boards over if theyre too close.

    Great video John!
    A lot of people are narrow minded and ignorant. Despite some pallets being "perfectly fine" prior to being taken apart., Odd size/different size/custom sized pallets such as the ones he's ripping apart in this video - are only worth as much as the the company who originally ordered/had the built is willing to pay.
    In this video, the gentlemen is taking apart pallets in odd sizes, cutting the boards down to 40 inches, in which will be re-used to manufacture popular standard 48x40 pallets. They are taking a pallet with pretty much no re-sale value, and re-building a pallet that is more commonly used around all forms of shipping.. Logistics!

    Dozens of videos on how to break pallets, yet I turned in two last week at Lowes and got my deposit money back. $15 apiece for the deposit for two loads of Sakcrete. There's a worldwide shortage of pallets because of hoarding them for firewood or breaking them up for short little pieces of wood. Strange world we all inhabit.

    Why are there so many pallets that are in good enough condition to make it worthwhile to have machines that can disassemble them for reclaimed wood? What is the reclaimed wood used for?

    • @eatwhatukiii2532
      @eatwhatukiii2532 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Reclaimed pallet wood is usually free and makes beautiful decorative furniture, or rustic furniture, or even really crude furniture (i.e. a pallet bench). People make floors, decorative walls, doors, kitchen cabinets, cabins, sheds, and chicken coops out of them. Just look them up. I think someone even made a car out of reclaimed pallet wood. Oh, and don’t forget fences and children’s toys.
      Heck, I just used two reclaimed pallet planks to brace a patch I need to make in drywall because we removed the baseboard heater that was there.
      Some companies reuse reclaimed wood from disassembled pallets to make NEW pallets.

    • @iKronic
      @iKronic  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Dave, we actually use it to tear down less useful pallets (odd sizes, broken ones etc.) to use the wood to fix other broken pallets that are a more standard size or to what our customer may need

    this machine CUTS NAILS which still place in wood ... not acceptable for me.

  • @Nadine----

    You're so funny. Why do you dismantle perfectly good pallets? They appeared brand new. The shop where they make them possibly on the same street could sell you the wood before they put them together.🤣🤣

    • @richardwadd9769

      Cos the pallets come from China and they don’t want them back.

  • @eatwhatukiii2532
    @eatwhatukiii2532 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Wait, WHAT?!
    Cool bandsaw type machine cuts all nails simultaneously so the entire board length can be salvaged...then the guy puts them through another machine to saw off the ends. 🤷🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️

    • @davefoc
      @davefoc 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      So the boards have cutoff nails in them? How are the reclaimed boards used where that isn't a problem?

    • @eatwhatukiii2532
      @eatwhatukiii2532 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@davefoc I remove the nails and save the entire board length (some people pound them out, some drill them out). I just spent the summer salvaging pallet wood and have built some very nice things with them.
      I’m just saying, if the purpose is to salvage the wood so it’s not wasted, that’s several inches cut off that might be needed for particular projects where you NEED four+ foot lengths. Plus, the nail holes add character to the final project. They can be left as holes or filled in with a contrasting color filler.
      It’s all good.

    I wonder why he's not getting splinters handling them without gloves. We use these pallets at work and the first few times I had to sort them outside the plant I got those nasty splinters because I wasn't wearing any gloves.

    • @iKronic
