I have been making there's for years and I promise you they work 100%. You have to use the right components and make sure nothing is touching. Also the coil can't touch anything when it is firing. Lots of mistakes can be made, but if you do it right it works. Main could is 25-30 and smaller secondary coul is 2x the primary. Power with 3 9volt batteries but can handle 5 9volt batteries.

It is strange that the power is connected across the emitter and collector.
Also the primary circuit. A high current low impedance supply would not be good. But it seems to work with batteries.
The length of the power leads must affect operation.

0,7 mm copper cable
electrical tape
9 volt battery
transistor 2SC2078
10k ohm resistor
47 pF capasitor
220 pF capasitor
soldering-iron

Für die kleine Spule empfehle ich einen Zahnstocher oder Schaschlykspiess. Drumwickeln, abziehen und auf das Drahtende der Maincoil schieben. Das ist etwas einfacher. ;-) ♥

cool stuff!!! But: I cant see were the big coil ends. And a circuit diagram and explanation would be nice in the next vid :-). Is it possible that the device requires the voltage supply to have an internal resistance? Otherwise it would not make sense to connect the power supply accross Collector and Emiter.
What would happen if I use other diamater for the coil? Would that change the frequency?
is the wire used magnetic wire(enamel coated) or basic copper wire

will it work with ordinary copper wire? We cant find magnet enameled copper wire anywhere in our hardware stores around. will it also work the same with electric or speaker wire?? Thanks

what did you do with the end of the main wire? just cut it off or loop it through the main coil. Also the schematic u listed for this doesnt match your video build

I got mine to work a little. But i dont know where to buy transistor that works. There are so many. Does mosfet have these and do they work? Not all 2sc2078 works.
I have seen this circuit using the 2SC2950. The package is different, the outer leads are reversed.
