Considering how stock this car looks and how stock the motor looks without a turbo side intake like every other Barra ever, this is one proper sleeper 🤤
Being an Aussie Ford nut in NZ I rate my current daily (2008 Territory FPV F6X #111) a way better all round package than my FGX XR8 manual. That Barra turbo is such superb power unit matched to the ZF 6 speed with AWD. In my opinion the F6X was way ahead of its time as the ultimate “Aussie sleeper”
I did the PD inspection/drive on one of these and the 351/404KW GT-F before leaving Ford in 2016, I'm torn as to which is better, the Barra just squeaks thru cos we'll its a Barra, a Turbo, and the V8 a bit heavier in the front #Barratheworld
Does anyone know what piping kit the owner has used to join the air box to the crossover pipe? Or is that some custom one off job? Looks like the back of the air box is modified to take the larger pipe, or is it a different air box than the normal xr6t/f6/sprint6?
I have a FG MK2 XR6 N/A manual- and it is shit, i have driven a manual converted FG X Sprint- and it was as bad as my FG. Autos were soooo better- always on boost, driver friendly, and they really nailed the ZF in the FG X Sprint. No matter what you do to the TR6060, it still has that shitty roll over/ bag of nails sound to it. ZF everyday- the ZF in my BF Tornado far, far out performed a manual version.
@@maxrockatanksyOG I have 2 manual F6s and they're fantastic. Autos suck my will to live. I don't care if the auto is slightly faster in a straight line, I like actually driving my cars. If you can't drive a real car that's fine, and I have no problem with them offering the auto for people who prefer it but it was an absolute slap in the face not to offer the choice for the ultimate XR6T.

stock the V8 is faster overall but off the line the 6 is faster.
All it takes is a tune and they make super good power, gotta love a barra
Wouldn't own a 6 pot even if was free. Give me a v8 anyday
