So I assume there are similarities there too.
Justin describes it perfectly. To me it smells like a fusion between the beautiful Le mâle le parfum + some Baccarat rouge made it more classy. It s an incredible cardamom fragrance but I don't like the drydown

Great stuff! My top is also Amouage but my close second is Liquides Imaginaires, for the scents but especially for the esthetics, for the ideology and thought put into each scent. Not the best longevity or projection but each of the fragrances transports me and gives me a different emotion and that's what the art of perfumery is all about for me. Smelling good is great of course but perfumery as an art is so much more.

I just received 2nd Soul today. Really nice. Seems that it has components of different scent genres wrapped into one and takes you for a journey, even during the first 10 minutes of wear.

Your authenticity and unique but slightly tongue in cheek approach to your videos is something I’ve always looked forward to viewing. I got a few samples of the Zaharoff fragrances last week and sampled yours first… just in case I wanted to buy a bottle before they ran out. Man o’ man… that scent was intoxicating. I bought a bottle the same day. The perfect marriage of amber/fall vibes but yet still light, airy and aromatic as if a nod to other seasons. I can’t wait to get the full bottle and wear the heck out of it. 👊🏾 keep up the good work and honest, authentic reviews/videos. Man , when you got to Argos, i was cracking the caps off the ones you highlighted and my lord they are fantastic! My top three would probably be #3 Adonis Awakens #2 Triumph of Bacchus and at #1 Bravido Della Caccia. I absolutely love the green earthiness of this fragrance. Great list Justin!

Thing with a definitive top 10 of your own taste means putting down a definitive version of your own taste. But you are human; not a stale record. It could be eased a little bit by changing it to "top x niche fragrance brands of the moment". Personally, I wouldn't consider Creed all that fast, but that Original Vetiver bottle has that lovely fading green. Interest being going out to Nishane more, but haven't found them in nearby shops. I smelled Amouage Enclave once... and it left me with an image of Pop-Eye eating mint instead of spinach. Never knew it could be that strong. Still on my get-a-sample-sometime list.

I get why you HAD to put them there but i JUST complimented you on integrity...! However Zaharoff fragrances are great. Zaharoff has its own shelf in my collection I have them all. Zeds included. With Zaharoff you get a fantastic smelling scent that will last....2 hours. Yeah. It's the Zaharoff plague. NONE of the releases last more than 2hours. Zeds included. Great video! Let's talk! Thank you Jeffrey. I’m glad you enjoy enjoy Zaharoff’s fragrances. It sounds like your experience with them is a testament to how WILDLY volatile fragrance performance can be. With the exception of Citrine, every Zaharoff fragrance I’ve tried lasts 8-10 hours on my skin. 2nd Soul is one I can smell the next morning, every time. We created it to be long-lasting, at 24% concentration. Not to mention the idea of detection versus longevity: our sense of smell is not infallible! Unless you have dry skin, it is more than likely that you are experiencing olfactory fatigue and can no longer detect the scent even though it’s still there. This can also happen if you’re smelling them up close (or any fragrance) for an extended period of time. Because actually evaporating in 2 hours flat is not the norm! Your mileage can and will vary! We are the variable-not the fragrance!
@stayfreshproductions olfactory fatigue is absolutely an issue. As a fraghead, you want to grab onto that first spray and keep it with you all day long! But as you all know, that's just not feasible. I do use alot of molecule 1 with my daily fragrance choice. I know the perception of M1 is extended life. I'm now wondering if the mix is changing the chemical make up enough to make a longevity difference. I'll test. But probably just olfactory. At 24% there is no reason to not be around after 120 minutes. You make a very valid point. I have just sprayed 2nd soul and Brass and Soul on my hands. Also will make one of these tomorrow's Sotd and will ask others if they can smell a fragrance. These Zaharoff fragrances are so good that I WANT to be wrong on the longevity. I love your taste! It seems like we're on the same wavelength. I know it's totally subjective, but Amouage is definitely my top pick in my fragrance collection. I've got a total of 16 full bottles - 13 tall bottles for men and 3 short bottles for women (though all are unisex). And I totally get why you left out PDM and Initio in your top 8. I was thinking the same way 🤣🤣
I’m officially a niche snob now. I make an exception for the house of Brioni. I just picked up the EDP Intense and it blew me away. They seem to get better as they go along.
I love Amouage Beach Hut Man and Enclave. I couldn’t find Beach Hut man on discounters so I guess I’ll stick with enclave for now based on your recommendation. Just out of curiosity have you tried any of Zoologist fragrances? I find T-Rex and Bee as their masterpieces but I couldn’t find a time and place to wear them so I went for a full bottle of Squid instead. No regrets with squid, it’s a dark aquatic masterpiece.

Guys, I have commented on COUNTLESS YT vids, both here on Justin's channel, TLTG, Frag Apprentice, Fragmental, Gents Scents, etc. etc. about how insanely good 2nd Soul is. Justin, I know you read these comments, and I've said it a hundred times but I'll continue to say it: 2nd Soul is one of the best frags I've ever put my nose on. To anyone that hasn't experienced it yet, know that the best way I can describe it is basically taking a timeless fougere/barbershop scent and bringing it into the 21st century. Quality, presentation, hell, even the value for dollar...it's all outstanding. Part of me wishes there would be a Zed Creators 3.0, so I could see where you went with it next, but I'm more glad that there (apparently) won't be, because this thing is at the damn apex, and any other attempt at another iteration of this modern classic would likely just be an exercise in futility. Although I own just a couple of Amouage perfumes (Reflection Man and Interlude), I had the chance to test many more and it has easily became one of my favorite houses, along with Nishane. Papilefiko is my wife's favorite right now and I totally understand why. My next purchase would be Enclave, but I still have a sample, no rush on that one, yet. Has anyone tried Toskovat? The perfumer of this niche house does something different with his perfumes, he always comes with an interesting story for each of his fragrances and tells it through the very peculiar, evolving accords.
This was a great idea for a video. I hope others follow suit. I am shocked that parfums de Marley didn’t make top 8. Although I will say respectfully I find your taste to be a little bit Boozier than a lot of other TH-cam channels. That’s just my opinion about your taste that I’ve seen anyway.
Yes. Parfums de Marly is my #1 house(with both Men's and Women's scents). I would say that PDM has more "Oscars"/"Academy Awards" than any other house.. although Tom Ford is a [very] close second. And..Amouage, MFK, Roja, Kilian, and Xerjoff round out the Top 7 in my Favorite houses.
People crap on creed but I still think they are a great house. I think because they keep their frags classy at all times I think the fact that they still make male and female targeted frags hurts feelings and I think people crap on Aventus because of it’s success but to me no other niche brand has never made such a hit until BR540 came along. Like it or love it Aventus still is a champ and creed is still a great house.
Also....although neither the house nor the fragrance itself was mentioned...... Oajan for me was LOVE at first sniff lol. Immediately. Interestingly enough on my skin it even dries down to something reminiscent of TF Lost Cherry so looks like I got a twofer lol 🙂
I just went to the by Kilian shop by me and tried a few and for me L'Heure Verte was love at first sniff. It's not going to be for everyone. You have to like that Anise smell, but if you do. DAM!

I simply can't get into these niche fragrances. I understand the artistry and collectibility, but I can't wear any of this stuff. I can spray it in the air and appreciate it for what it is but I can't go in to work or go out on a date smelling like a rotted piece of old wood sprayed with lemon pledge or a 20 year old used wet leather boot from the thrift store. It's all just too much, you have to be a real weirdo to wear such pungent stenches on a daily basis. I guess normal people like me just have to stick to mass appealing designer fragrances until I find something more versatile
It's a great scent. I had gotten a 3 ml decant of all 3 zed creator 2.0 scents. Too classy for me but it is great. I'm still a super immature 37 year old 😂 so it's a little too grown for my tastes but it does smell great and amazing quality. Enjoy it

@@stayfreshproductions update, i received the samples today, given 2nd soul its first full wearing, i dont find it too mature but it definitely is very very classy, in the air right now its reminding me a little of Yatagan by caron, LNDL bleu electrique and rochas l’homme, and some fougère royale for sure but its incredibly unique, im very impressed :) Edit, Drydown is making me fall in love with this scent. Ill be saving up for a bottle perhaps 😁

I love your taste! It seems like we're on the same wavelength. I know it's totally subjective, but Amouage is definitely my top pick in my fragrance collection. I've got a total of 16 full bottles - 13 tall bottles for men and 3 short bottles for women (though all are unisex).
And I totally get why you left out PDM and Initio in your top 8. I was thinking the same way 🤣🤣

I’m officially a niche snob now. I make an exception for the house of Brioni. I just picked up the EDP Intense and it blew me away. They seem to get better as they go along.

I love Amouage Beach Hut Man and Enclave. I couldn’t find Beach Hut man on discounters so I guess I’ll stick with enclave for now based on your recommendation. Just out of curiosity have you tried any of Zoologist fragrances? I find T-Rex and Bee as their masterpieces but I couldn’t find a time and place to wear them so I went for a full bottle of Squid instead. No regrets with squid, it’s a dark aquatic masterpiece.

Guys, I have commented on COUNTLESS YT vids, both here on Justin's channel, TLTG, Frag Apprentice, Fragmental, Gents Scents, etc. etc. about how insanely good 2nd Soul is. Justin, I know you read these comments, and I've said it a hundred times but I'll continue to say it: 2nd Soul is one of the best frags I've ever put my nose on. To anyone that hasn't experienced it yet, know that the best way I can describe it is basically taking a timeless fougere/barbershop scent and bringing it into the 21st century. Quality, presentation, hell, even the value for dollar...it's all outstanding. Part of me wishes there would be a Zed Creators 3.0, so I could see where you went with it next, but I'm more glad that there (apparently) won't be, because this thing is at the damn apex, and any other attempt at another iteration of this modern classic would likely just be an exercise in futility. Thanks, Justin!

Although I own just a couple of Amouage perfumes (Reflection Man and Interlude), I had the chance to test many more and it has easily became one of my favorite houses, along with Nishane. Papilefiko is my wife's favorite right now and I totally understand why. My next purchase would be Enclave, but I still have a sample, no rush on that one, yet.
Has anyone tried Toskovat? The perfumer of this niche house does something different with his perfumes, he always comes with an interesting story for each of his fragrances and tells it through the very peculiar, evolving accords.

This was a great idea for a video. I hope others follow suit. I am shocked that parfums de Marley didn’t make top 8. Although I will say respectfully I find your taste to be a little bit Boozier than a lot of other TH-cam channels. That’s just my opinion about your taste that I’ve seen anyway.
Yes. Parfums de Marly is my #1 house(with both Men's and Women's scents). I would say that PDM has more "Oscars"/"Academy Awards" than any other house.. although Tom Ford is a [very] close second. And..Amouage, MFK, Roja, Kilian, and Xerjoff round out the Top 7 in my Favorite houses.

People crap on creed but I still think they are a great house. I think because they keep their frags classy at all times I think the fact that they still make male and female targeted frags hurts feelings and I think people crap on Aventus because of it’s success but to me no other niche brand has never made such a hit until BR540 came along. Like it or love it Aventus still is a champ and creed is still a great house.
Also....although neither the house nor the fragrance itself was mentioned...... Oajan for me was LOVE at first sniff lol. Immediately. Interestingly enough on my skin it even dries down to something reminiscent of TF Lost Cherry so looks like I got a twofer lol 🙂

I just went to the by Kilian shop by me and tried a few and for me L'Heure Verte was love at first sniff. It's not going to be for everyone. You have to like that Anise smell, but if you do. DAM!

I simply can't get into these niche fragrances. I understand the artistry and collectibility, but I can't wear any of this stuff. I can spray it in the air and appreciate it for what it is but I can't go in to work or go out on a date smelling like a rotted piece of old wood sprayed with lemon pledge or a 20 year old used wet leather boot from the thrift store. It's all just too much, you have to be a real weirdo to wear such pungent stenches on a daily basis. I guess normal people like me just have to stick to mass appealing designer fragrances until I find something more versatile

It's a great scent. I had gotten a 3 ml decant of all 3 zed creator 2.0 scents. Too classy for me but it is great. I'm still a super immature 37 year old 😂 so it's a little too grown for my tastes but it does smell great and amazing quality. Enjoy it

@@stayfreshproductions update, i received the samples today, given 2nd soul its first full wearing, i dont find it too mature but it definitely is very very classy, in the air right now its reminding me a little of Yatagan by caron, LNDL bleu electrique and rochas l’homme, and some fougère royale for sure but its incredibly unique, im very impressed :)
Edit, Drydown is making me fall in love with this scent. Ill be saving up for a bottle perhaps 😁
