I smoke native cigarettes, I used to smoke store cigarettes but the price just kept going up and up and I can't afford them. When they were five bucks a pack, even six bucks a pack I would buy them but when they started going higher I couldn't afford them and I was offered them at upto 60% off retail for native cigarettes.
There was also a difference between public & private transportation of Native Tobacco, from reserves with the intent of distribution. Again, how do we get up? From Poverty?

When taxation gets out of control a black market will develop as it has in Canada. You can't blame consumers as they can't afford to buy fully taxed cigarettes. The governments have listened to the anti-tobacco groups and raised the price so that legal cigarettes are unaffordable. The federal and provincial governments have only themselves to blame for creating a black market for tobacco products in Canada. They have also caused the exit of tobacco companies from Canada. If you are a tobacco company in Canada it became a very hostile environment in Canada. So they have left Canada or are leaving. Tobacco companies were good employers and paid their employees very well. They spent millions of dollar on sporting events, promoted Canadian fashion worldwide, and Canadian music entertainment. That's all gone now. Now we have a government that taxes all the "sin products" to excessive levels. Tobacco, booze and gasoline are all very heavily taxed in Canada. The Canadian government is even moving into the drug business with the legalization of cannabis. One might say your government controls the numbers racket,(lotteries), profits off gambling with Casinos, is your bootlegger, and now drug pusher. Add the increased taxes on gasoline from the Trudeau carbon taxes and that is a bundle of money you pay in taxation. What is next an Amsterdam style red light district in major Canadian cities?
