    ABOUT DANNY
    -----------------------
Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!
I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.
On TH-cam and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.
Be prepared though. If its a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble
I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

I use my 3 iron all the time. It is great at raking the coals in the back patio fire pit. I get much more enjoyment out of that than watching my shots dribble down the fairway, or slice into the deep woods. :-) Hybrids rule! Good advice Danny!

    Hi Danny
I want you to know I watched several of your videos and went to play golf and had the
Best round ever from your brilliant clear instruction. I was having trouble with my driver and after doing what you
Said I hit the ball off the tee the best in a year. I love your clear instruction and summary at the end. I even hit one
Of those difficult shots embedded in the deep grass around the green and popped it out perfectly landing it 6 ft
From the pin. You are my instructor from now on. Great work.

My 4 iron is 25° so I play a 22° and a 19° hybrid. Really enjoy having those clubs. The 19° is a great club to play a low tee shot into the wind on short par 4s. The 22° feels like I could basically do anything with it, slinging draws, feathery cuts. Sometimes if I’m feeling a little off in my ball striking I play down the grip and just play a chippy cut from even 150 yards to greens. I absolutely love my hybrids even though I still use my long irons plenty.

It the ball still travels far better than my four iron though I sill have uses for my four iron

When I started out golfing at 40, I had a 3 iron, that was very difficult to hit. I started later in life and being a lefty I used mostly men’s used equipment or whatever we could find. I became very frustrated and gave up for a while, as I was an avid bowler and very good at it, averaging over 200. When I retired, I tried to play more golf, and as I progressed I did improve. I got rid of the 3 iron and went to a new set of Ladies Adams left-handed with hybrids and they seem to work for me within 110 yards. Some times I still use my 7 wood in the fairway, which also has a lower loft and if I hit it properly it does well. I do however struggle using a 5 wood in the fairway. And I’m more consistent with the 7. I only wish I had started playing golf when I was much younger rather than bowling.

I will struggle with the hybrid more during a Round(fading it)Fighting to get it straight and as the round progresses, a couple of hooks will come out of nowhere :-(
My irons never get me in real trouble and as I use them more and more the beter they get. I have tried different hybrids from wilsonstaff, Callaway and Taylormade. On the driving range I can hit them any fashion but on the course.. dreadful.
Clubs i use now Taylormade MC forged tour preferred 3-pw.
    Dynamic gold S300 shaft. 2014. I got them when I was still shooting over 100 :-)) hcp36 in 2014
Most of my misses are still in play and I now play off hcp 7. I have some believe that hybrids could help my game a bit more. But I am afraid of of how it could also negatively impact my game.

a little late to the party, here, sorry, I’m thinking of replacing 6, 7, and 9 with hybrids. But, not sure about the PW. My favorite video of yours was BEST CHIPPING TIP EVER. Totally changed my game!!! I actually now “feel” my shots from within 100 yards, and can control from just about any distance inside of 100. I can’t thank you enough for that video. So here is my question: can you actually *feel* in the same way with the hybrid PW as you can with an iron PW? That is, does the hybrid PW allow you to control distance and loft through feel like the PW iron can?

    • @DanielMaude

Hybrid clubs, what a great way for club manufacturers to make a buck. Amateurs want more distance, so club manufacturers strengthened lofts and lengthened the shafts to supposedly enable you to hit the ball further, actually what they did is made it more difficult for you to play irons, especially mid and long irons. So, to help eliminate this problem, marketing geniuses invented the hybrid club. I still successfully play long irons from any type lie on the course. First and most important, I installed the correct shafts to fit my swing, added 2 degrees of loft and adjusted the lie angle, all for a fraction of the price of a new hybrid club.

Is it wrong that I can crack a 3 iron but not my 3 hybrid? I got the hybrid for better consistency but I find it impossible to hit, however I hit my 3 iron well 8 times out of 10.
Is it a drawback with a hybrid that I have a semi fast swing?

Hit the driver on average 220-230, 7 irons around 130ish but as soon as the 5 iron and lower comes out the bag my confidence drops and catch them fat and thin with horrible low ball flight. Borrowed a 20deg hybrid for a shot today out of the semi rough and smashed it 180 yards on to the green!! Interested to try a few different ones out though as you've said to find the right one, but really thinking about swapping the 3 iron down to 5 iron for hybrids now.
