    Business ethics are however considered insignificant in the eyes of an entrepreneur. So that is another problem;small businesses don't have the time or money to do a lot of community activities.

    I find the comment the presenter makes at 34:59 incredibly sexist. Not all women have children, and men don't want to work 16 hour days just as much as women don't. Work/life balance is appealing to all genders.

    The times square test is a weird one. I get that its loosely like "would you want to say this in front of a jury?".....but....if i'm being intimate in a loving committed relationship...that's not unethical but i wouldn't want it broadcast on times square. i get naked and shower every day i wouldn't want that broadcast. Hell even if i were a closeted homosexual, i might think that there's nothing UNETHICAL about my homosexuality but still not want to shout it from the rooftops. I don't find my political positions unethical but some of them I wouldn't want broadcast because they're contentious* and could get me in trouble. but contentious is not the same as unethical.

    If in a Company the lower level staff has high Ethical values and beliefs (personal principles & values)and sees the company doing some unethical Behaviour which is harming the Environment & Community. What should the Employee do....incase the employee has approached the Supervisori & the Manager concerned and shuts the employee stating its none of your business and thats one way to make profit for company by being lil unethical....
    The employee is isolated and threat of unemployment.....in such a case its very difficult for employee.....should employee follow the Company & its Managements and work silently or report the case ......and what would be the Stakeholders state if the unethical behaviour is reported in media ........

    I am revising for an exam on Exploring Business Ethics on Milton Friedman's social responsibly theory. Do you have a Lesson on theories such as these people?

    • @Alanisbusinessacademy
      @Alanisbusinessacademy  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      I actually just put together a video covering the social responsibility perspectives, one of which being Friedman's. Here's a link to the video: Episode 150: Common Perspectives of Social Responsibility
      Hope this helps.

      Thanks a lot. Would you be able to help me a little further please as I can,t get my head around the basics of tge theories of utilitarianism and kants theory as well. Thank you so much for the helo

    • @Alanisbusinessacademy
      @Alanisbusinessacademy  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not terribly knowledgeable of either theory. I know that utilitarianism is about maximizing the happiness of everyone as opposed to simply the one making the decisions. Kind of the is it in the best interest of society mentality. If you can find John Stuart Mill's Utilitarianism that will provide a great deal of information.
      I'm even less familiar with Kant's Theory, although its based on the idea that morality was based on people adhering to universal principles using rational thought.
      Hope this helps a bit. Good luck.
