I actually personally encountered this one. Abigail is like that overprotective mom that wants her child to be a doctor. It’s funny that Arthur tries to convince her that he should be a Gunslinger.
When I was watching this video I was imaging Hosea teaching Arthur to read when he was 14 years old. We all know that Hosea And Dutch found Arthur in the street when he was just a Kid and join him in the band and both cared for him. I'm still wonder who of these two dads taught Arthur how to use/shoot a gun, how to fight and how to ride a horse? I'm curious.
Hosea for all of the above most likely. Remember, Hosea used to be younger (maybe Arthur's age in the game) and had a lot of skills to teach while Dutch did all the planning.
The reason why they said that is because you have a mission from sadie which once you get to the cutscene you’ll see kierans head on his hands and yet shady bell was ambushed
Funny how Jack becomes two things: 1. He hates reading but later in life, he becomes attached to it and is smarter than ever. 2. Jack said he wanted to be a gunslinger. Now that John and Abigail are gone, he’s now *become* one. I love prequels on how they backtrack everything leading up to later.
Fun fact, in franklins house in gta v, there’s a book called red dead redemption written by J. Marston, we can only assume it’s got to be written by Jack
This is the most wholesome dialogue in the camp ever for me. and the funny part was after the conversation Arthur literally says "Gunslingers can read too y'know" had me cracked up lol. I'm gonna miss Hosea :'(
I love the innocence of Jack even though how he's around all these thieves and killers. Its also great how the gang tries to keep him innocent too. Especially Arthur.
Hosea was a granddad to so much people, he saved Arthur as a kid and was a dad towards Dutch. He never started any fights, all he did was try everything to help the gang. The first mission with him is when he's going out hunting, he never hurt anyone or done anything bad. It was heartbreaking to watch him go, he was one of the best characters of the gang, will never be forgotten
You are right for the most part, but don’t mistake kindness for weakness, in a interaction between Hosea and either Bill or Uncle (i forgot) he pulls his gun out on one of the 2 when their drunk and even twirls it around before putting it back into its holster, and he pulled it out just as quick. he’s still a professional gunslinger and con man. but that doesn’t mean he wasn’t sweet because he was one of my favorites in the game and his death still makes me sad
@UrGayLmao But he was more calm and tempered. A great man? Not really, he silver tongued his way out of many situations and into a lot of scamming and leeching money off of people. However, he still has moralistic traits and openly attempts to deescalate situations or spare those who aren't involved with their situation or aren't deemed much of a threat. Only resorting to gunfights to defend himself and his group or during the raid on the Braithwaite Manor. He is a pragmatist and someone who possesses a lot of foresight and wisdom beyond the short term as well, which made him such a good right hand to Dutch. Think of him more as a wise thief, who doesn't involve those who aren't actively a threat/part of the situation, seeks the most bloodless or otherwise most moderate solution, and generally attempts to be a fatherly figure, mentor and best friend to everyone in camp. He's like a weird mix of chaotic good and chaotic neutral with some, still working for himself, but showing immense care and work ethic for his fellow gang members and wishing to do jobs with the least amount of collaterals or needless bloodshed. He's a team player and a good friend to most of the gang, and actively puts them equal to his ambitions, yet doesn't feel locked to a specific code either since he's both a criminal and because of his ingenuity and more mentor role, rather than an absolutist Dutch sycophant.
@AnselmoBabimbola Yes for sure, he wasn’t a good man by any means, but he was better and he always wished and tried to work with Dutch to get everyone a new life. I think any typical brigand or roaming gang of thugs would either be in this way of life until they die, or find more brutish ways of managing their criminal holdings. You could argue it was more a means to an end for him at some point and less just cons for himself and his own personal pleasures. He wanted to see the succeed and maybe find himself a life to settle and to put his criminal skills aside. I miss Hosea and wish he had stuck further
Jack : I wanna be a gunslinger Abigail: over my dead body 15 years later Jack: yay my moms dead now I’m a gunslinger Abigail in heaven: why did I say that
No I think its about Eagle Flies getting killed because of Duch's greed. Jack always tends to refer to the future in his readings, He did it at the end of Red Dead 1 when reading to John (foreshadowing him avenging his death) and in Undead nightmare ("The brave man has to kill everyone"). But they only made in super obvious in undead nightmare
The man being thrown out for his greed might as well be Micah (falling out of Dutch's grace at the end) or Dutch himself, losing everyone because of him trying to come up with new schemes which costed him so many people
That would be awesome. He has a wife and child by 1917 and is forced by the government to join the military or go to prison for RDR1 SPOILERS, SPOILERS FOR A 10 YEAR OLD GAME murdering Edgar Ross in the RDR1 epilogue. The final chapter could be him in the trenches and ends with him dying or going home to his wife. And they could continue the story with some of his military buddies getting into the growing mob business. Then in 90 years when we are all old or dead the story will have progressed so far they’ll be in the GTA timeline and maybe THEN they’ll make GTA 6 lol.

Abigail "Over my dead body"
That's a big oof right there
When I was watching this video I was imaging Hosea teaching Arthur to read when he was 14 years old. We all know that Hosea And Dutch found Arthur in the street when he was just a Kid and join him in the band and both cared for him.
I'm still wonder who of these two dads taught Arthur how to use/shoot a gun, how to fight and how to ride a horse? I'm curious.
Pretty much everything besides riding a horse: Hosea.
He was 16 when he joined. He’s 36 in 1899
Wait, really? I though it was 13y old.
Hosea for all of the above most likely. Remember, Hosea used to be younger (maybe Arthur's age in the game) and had a lot of skills to teach while Dutch did all the planning.
@@MarvinT0606that’s where dutch gets all of his plans from lol
Hosea is the type of grandfather everyone would want
Grandfather, father, uncle, friend, brother. Hosea would be an incredible human being in general
2:34
“Have you seen Kieran, Mr. Pearson?”
oh, god...
Oh nooo ;-;
Such a shame that guy didn't deserve that.. the reality hits hard and this game damn realistic :(
The reason why they said that is because you have a mission from sadie which once you get to the cutscene you’ll see kierans head on his hands and yet shady bell was ambushed
@@Trashkid62 we are aware
@@Inkognito-ts4to ok
Funny how Jack becomes two things:
1. He hates reading but later in life, he becomes attached to it and is smarter than ever.
2. Jack said he wanted to be a gunslinger. Now that John and Abigail are gone, he’s now *become* one.
I love prequels on how they backtrack everything leading up to later.
"Gunslingers can read too, you know" -Arthur
Fun fact, in franklins house in gta v, there’s a book called red dead redemption written by J. Marston, we can only assume it’s got to be written by Jack
I miss Hosea.....his dialog with Jack is so heart warming that it almost made me forget what was coming.........for all of them.
They are not criminals. They are outlaws.
@@1th_to_comment. They kill and steal their definitely criminals
@@mrpringle9479 Dutch himself says in one mission that they’re outlaws not criminals
@@jds8438 please explain to me what's the difference
@@mrpringle9479 why should I?
Man, RDR3 should have hosea as the main protagonist, he’s such a badass while also being so nice and wise, he could be a great protagonist
He's d e a d
John Marston is also dead yet he appeared in RDR2
Because there is a thing called P R E Q U E L S
PingedMirror47 And in RDR3 we meet Hosea's wise and badass mentor, and in RDR4 we play as him...
No this will take too much time when we can make RDR3 about Uncle and how he got lumbago
How about young dutch and hosea's adventure?
That’s why Hosea is my favourite character
I like all characters, except Micah.(Sorry for my wrong english i am german)
@@edgareckstein2799 You wrote nothing wrong though, you don't need to apalogize for bad English everyone isn't from an English speaking country.
@@TortoiseBlaster Of course he need (Sorry for my english, I'm African).
Mine are Dutch, Lenny, Sean, Bill, Javier, and Uncle
Not really a father figure to Dutch he was like his older brother
@AnselmoBabimbola Yes for sure, he wasn’t a good man by any means, but he was better and he always wished and tried to work with Dutch to get everyone a new life. I think any typical brigand or roaming gang of thugs would either be in this way of life until they die, or find more brutish ways of managing their criminal holdings. You could argue it was more a means to an end for him at some point and less just cons for himself and his own personal pleasures. He wanted to see the succeed and maybe find himself a life to settle and to put his criminal skills aside.
I miss Hosea and wish he had stuck further
“Over my dead body!”
Jack *”challenge accepted.”*
Jack : I wanna be a gunslinger
Abigail: over my dead body
15 years later
Jack: yay my moms dead now I’m a gunslinger
Abigail in heaven: why did I say that

4:04 The Skyrim player in me- FUS RO DAH
1:10 lol, chill Abigail, Arthur didn’t even say anything, he’s just silently watching a child he helped raise learn to read like most people would.
I laughed so hard when Jack just casually said
*But, I wanna be a gunslinger when I grow up*
But then it saddened me.
I love how hosea uses his middle finger to point, that's exactly what my dad and grandad did when pointing at words
I want to be a gunslinger😂😂

Hosea and Arthur should’ve taken down Dutch change my mind
Casey's Vinyls they probably would if Hosea didn’t die when he did and he lived till after guarma they would have taken down Dutch and Micah
James Lit it’s really not Dutch’s fault, it’s just because Hosea died.
Just Micah
Bongo Cat nah. Dutch would have busted out Hosea. He loved him. The biggest reason he went crazy was because he died
True. I agree
Jack: I wanna be a Gunslinger when I grow up!
Abigail: OvAh MaH dEhD bAhDy!
Jack: Ok.
Hosea really can leave an impact, teaching Jack how to read really did wonders for him.
It’s so cute that Hosea teaches Jack his favorite hobby.
Hosea's "What?!" Is so funny caught off guard and they really never heard of spaghetti that's wild 2:43
The part about the “bad prince being thrown out for greed” is literally about herr Strauss
The man being thrown out for his greed might as well be Micah (falling out of Dutch's grace at the end) or Dutch himself, losing everyone because of him trying to come up with new schemes which costed him so many people
@@stefanosiclari I do think it's mostly Dutch. A LOT of the books and readings you find are allegorical for him and the gang.
Did Blind Man Cassidy write the book?
RDR3 with a chapter where Jack fights in WW1. Let’s do this.
He's out bounty hunting and got stopped by government agents who know his past and they draft Jack into the war.
I can see that being story dlc
Lol yes
Or when jack fought in the mexican revolution with the rebels to overthrow Reyes
That would be awesome. He has a wife and child by 1917 and is forced by the government to join the military or go to prison for
RDR1 SPOILERS, SPOILERS FOR A 10 YEAR OLD GAME
murdering Edgar Ross in the RDR1 epilogue.
Hosea's face when Jack said reading is boring
Gotta love Hosea
2:33 you can hear mary-beth looking for kieran in the back :(
Omg you can hear like Karen or Marybeth in the background of the Hosea one asking if anyones seen Kieran! We know why he's not there :( Holy shit it's like these characters are alive

kieran dies 2 chapters later

Damn Hosea was like a father of everyone in the camp, he made his decision to be an outlaw a long time ago but he doesn’t seem like one.
1:20. Lol over her dead body. In the first red dead redemption when Abigail died, Jack Marston did actually become a gunslinger. Not a lawyer
The more Jack speaks, the more I realized that an adult woman is voicing him.

Jack over Abagail’s body: I guess im a gunslinger now yaaaa
