Culled the largest cow (who was the dominant one of the herd) for the same reason. She seemed to be more concerned about being the queen of the herd then raising her calf. As far as counting calves, after they get 3 months old or so then I don’t worry as much. Had 1 cow pacing the fence line, overlooking the neighbors trees, which was odd, turned out her calf had gotten out and was stuck between some trees and couldn’t figure out how to get out from the trees. Good momma saved her calf by her actions. 😊.
Thanks for another great video Peterson family. You’re in a busy time now with your milo. You are concerned about your yield I hear. Hang in there. Your cattle in the video look good. You always do good with your cattle. Thanks for the video. The Iowa farm boy. Steve.

Try a bottle of corn syrup on that down calf, it is a source of readily available energy, Mix with the milk. 😊
Great video. Thank you guys
Great job guys. Always dreamt of working in mass grain production but now it's just an illusion. ❤
Thanks for sharing God Bless.
All good! Did you get any rain out of yesterdays storms? Not sure if they were far enough west to catch you.

Do you run over the milo stocks with your disk mower before raking or do you just rake what was run through the combine?
We run a mower conditioner over them that crimps the stalks and lays in a windrow. This year they had 12-14 days to dry.
It’s Halloween night booo
What is the nutritional value of Milo as a feedstuff…
The grain is nearly the same as corn. The stalks and leaves can make decent hay if they aren't too dry when the grain is taken off.
Nice set of calves
Go gators😊
