Fantastic video and great analysis. I enjoyed using the Headhunters for fun on less pressured runs pre 1.0.25 but since the patch the Vraks III is now my main go-to weapon for both my Sharpshooter AND my Zealot. It's just so versatile, it seems to fill that mid point between the Kantrael XII and the Braced Autogun, being able to perform similar roles to both of them at only marginally less effectiveness than both. The ammo buff makes it even more efficient than the Braced. I enjoy the Vraks VII too but I agree with you that you need to be a lot better at aiming to make it godlike compared to the more forgiving Vraks III. On paper I really wanted to like the Agripinaa - the two round burst gave me vibes of my old Battlefield 4 love, the PKP Pecheneg LMG that had a low first shot recoil modifier that meant it was best used when firing in two round bursts like a DMR with a 100 round mag.... however I 100% agree that it just sucks in DT. I never even noticed the lack of zoom, but that makes a lot of sense. I feel that this gun COULD be awesome if they reduce the time between the two shots of the fixed burst, maybe increasing the followup shot time so overall DPS/RoF isnt increased. If both bullets came out faster with less recoil between them and you could almost guarantee double-tapping heads at midrange then it would be a beast, but right now the second bullet is just a coinflip as to where it lands. It also has a major bug where if you spamfire it too hard it breaks the double shot and it turns into a bad single shot DMR until you let it rest for a couple of seconds. if they fix both those elements (and the zoom) it could be the best of the three, right now it's just a liability.
Really good breakdown mate! Agree with everything you've written here. It is a shame about the Agripinaa IX, because it can actually hit some pretty filthy one burst break points across all the scary enemies with guns. But the recoil and accuracy are so bad at long ranges it just feels nonviable.
You should check out the autopistol with pinning fire. T4 pinning fire can give you up to +100% power. The autopistol can also get inspiring barrage and cavalcade which are quite good as well.
As soon as I saw the patch I pulled out the Vraks Mk III that was rotting in my inventory and started tearing up shit with it. Truly it has become what a gun modeled on the right arm of the free world should be. Now we just need some Short Shorts.
Another excellent video. Thank the Emperor we have someone to do all of this hard work for us. Can't wait for the crafting patch next week...finally. Keep poppin them heads bruh!
This was an excellent breakdown of the headhunter family of autoguns. Really, top work! If you're willing, if love to see you breakdown the luscious hellbore family as the lasgun equivalent to the headhunters. Also, I'd second another comment and I'd love to see the shotgun.
Thank you for your kind words mate. Duly noted, I was actually going to make a video on the Lucius III next as it stands, though if we get Blessings this week I'll consider the shotgun next instead.
@@theactionwindow5008 Do you find the Lucius I & II not worth it at all? I've only been trying the III myself, but I'm really bad with it, so I've avoided the I & II so far...
@@loganmulroney The general consensus is that the I is not very good, and the II and III are both good for different reasons. The II has been styled as a kind of rival choice to the Kantrael XII, in so that it can perform similarly with the right blessing/modifiers. The III has started to get some recognition as a 'heavy killer' in the vein that the Plasma and the Bolter are. Which makes it interesting to me because it competes with those guns rather than other lasguns. And when you build it to be a heavy killer, it feels very strong.
I for one can't wait to see what other shotguns they give us. I'm excited for the Arbites Black Hand Shotgun. Two Barrels of Hate. It was in fact the Doom Super Shotgun ported into 40k.
mark 7 is my favorite cuz it doesnt do burst fire and sometime i just need 1 bullet to kill certain enemy and burst fire seem like a waste in such occasion
Enjoying it a lot as well, really hoping I can find one with a native 25% UA/Flak and perfect modifiers so I can hit ALL the break points in this video
ive been using the mk vii on my veteran and it's a lot of fun. can definitely relate to mag dumping on maniac enemies though, i'm always holding my breath as i unload into a charging mutant just hoping i can kill it in time. i usually do 4s but i took it on a 5 and i think it was fine. probably swapping for my 499 power helbore i lucked out on super hard from the emperor himself
The Agripinaa Headhunter jams too often where it switches the fire mode from 2-round burst to a single shot for some weird reason when you click the fire button too quickly.
@@theactionwindow5008 Happy to announce that the Agripinaa HH got fixed in the Patch #14. It no longer switches from the 2-tap burst to a single-shot whenever you hammer the M1 as fast as you can. 👍
The agrapinaa 9 is no longer as crap as in this video. I would certainly take it over the vraks 7. Also, bit of a personal preference thing here but I quite like that it doesn’t zoom, keeps the tunnel visioning down. Ultimately it has one role: shooter management with ghost and 75% toughness DR while volley fire is on. This makes you virtually immune to ranged as long as you hit headshots and able to comfortably shut off the odd melee hit as long as you rock 25% toughness and 25% toughness over time on special or elite kill and, you know, get a few of those kills while mowing down shooters. The two-shot burst is enough to kill shooters in volley fire and is more ammo efficient than the vraks 3 which often wastes shots hitting dead targets. The recoil isn’t even that bad and mine has a fucking sub-60% roll. Yeah, yeah, I know “it is good at shooter management” isn’t exactly high bar but the ammo efficiency with which it does it is nothing to scoff at. With a max ammo roll it gets 8 shots back on elite/special kill and most of those it can take out with 3 well placed shots, less in volley and it seems to crit more than the other two but that could just be me. I would still rank the vraks 3 higher, but I think tot is better than the vraks 7 with less investment.
But... that is good. That increases your ammo efficiency (the bolter does this too, it is an issue with all burst fire weapons and yes, I could the bolter as burst fire not full auto since if you click a full auto it shoots one shot but if you click bolter it fires two, this is presumably an FPS issue because ever since I found setting that give me stable FPS I don't get that problem). Regardless this was a month ago and now yo uare fucking crazy if you take agri 9 over vraks 7 due to the 7 getting a big buff. There is no real reason to use the 9 other than liking the recoil pattern (which is still superb, both shots hit dead-on if you have 65%+ recoil)@@Mestari1Gaming
I got myself a vraks mk Vll with 79 dmg, 70 sp and opening salvo 3 with 25 flak & unarmored and the volleyfire breakpoints change slightly...over 35m I'm missing sub 20 damage to kill dreg gunner and scab gunners in one headshot but otherwise every breakpoint I tested was still the same. Its very nice if you want a change of pace
ooof, well at least the video is accurate. and I agree, it's a really lovely and fun gun, and even though it can't compete with the Kantrael XII's or Vraks III killing power, it has great accuracy and recoil while staying mobile and pretty amazing ammo efficiency as well. You don't *need* the god roll for it to be viable. Glad you're enjoying it :)
Savage Sweep and Rampage are ideal but it's more that it has good horde control with its heavy attack combo, mobility and a fast way of removing Flamer, Mutie and Hound specials. Can also remove Ragers in a pinch as well. Those blessings will help a lot with horde killing. You'll want one with a good Finesse modifier for the high attack speed. Perkwise, for Chainsword on Veteran, Rager and Infested are ideal.

@@theactionwindow5008 Generally agree with this though i've found I now favor the Vraks III over the braced simply due to being able to take out distant priority targets in emergencies.
