The race where Brian Vickers ran my favorite paint scheme from this era. The GMAC Green Day car. I’m happy to say that I have this car in diecast form.
I find it crazy that Sadler missed the Chase that year, considering that going into the Pepsi 400, he was third in points. Third. He ended up crashing in that race, and the beginning of the end for Sadler's season officially began. He ended up finishing 13th in points. Someone seriously needs to do a video on that subject.
And the inverse of that is Matt Kenseth who was not in the top 10 in points until after California the week before. Weirdly enough he did the exact opposite in 2009 by being in the top 12 in points until after the final race before in Richmond

As a Washington resident that raced against Kasey Kahne, this race absolutely rocks.
As a Jeff Gordon fan, the summer of 2005 was pain.

Terry Labonte driving the 11 messes with my mind
He had a great top ten finish, and fun fact it was the first top ten for the #11 JGR car 🤯
Looking at the grandstands makes my absolutely speechless and kinda sad to see what NASCAR has become in the last 15 years.
@Ryan O'Hara Yeah I wish they'd go back to a season-long points system.
We've had a sold out crowd in every race since Mid-May except Atlanta... probably due to it being run in Mid-July.
All five of the Roush Racing drivers made the Chase in 2005.
Fun fact, There was a Nickelback Car in this race, and they performed pre race
4:44 now adays pulling a mayfield is not something you’d want to do
Tony Raines completely Dumped Jamie McMurray. That should have been a Parkable Offence for that.
For sure, what a pos
1:54:07 It's not on the screen, BUT... CUE THE DUCK!! 🦆
Awful summer for guys like Jeff Gordon, and Elliott Sadler.
Alternatively a great summer for Matt kenseth as he miraculously got his shit together and managed to make the chase that year
is that a thing in NASCAR? bout to go a lap down so you dump whoever you are racing to bring out the caution?
Pretty much. Still happens today.
@@AustinLaPlante that’s mental. I love it.
