  • Just a quick video on how to change out your SAB Kraken 580 secondary shaft due to recall. It’s easy. Don’t trip, you to can do this. I am using a pencil torch I stole from a San Diego crack smoker. I said, “Say no to crack and get yourself a Kraken 580 addiction instead.” Just heat the 5 screws and break them free with a new 2.5 mm Allen wrench. I also heated my main shaft screw and loosened it up, for easy main shaft change out in the future. Hope this helps you guys. All we have to do now is wait for the hardened secondary shafts. Should be around July 15. Hang in there!

      @@CoeShow619 I got a ikon 2 HD for my 700 Havok and could not get it to bind to my DX9.Thankfully I found a video showing a fix,you had to bind your sat. ant. to a receiver first,then bind it with the ikon.It worked,all I use is ikon on my heli's,great gyro!

    Thanks for the video! SAB always seems great with keeping their customers informed and happy. Question, what brand hex drivers are you using?

      Ah man, these are nice. They are the Dynamite aluminum handle hardened metric driver set. Part number DYNT2030. They are a great price at Horizon Hobby of course.

    I have 4 flights on mine and went to up the pinion tooth count and checked the secondary and it's already has considerable wear. So don't i now have shavings in the one way that will cause issues later on

      That’s why I’m waiting to fly mine. Pull it apart. New shafts are on the way

    Looks like enough grease inside the trans module so I don't need to buy the sab tube stuff when I get the retrofit shaft. Will my 60watt soldering iron be hot enough?

      Heli Thunder guess you have to try it. Torch worked great.

    Did I mis something or did I understand that this shaft needs replacing every 10 flights or so? Or is there a new shaft with a harder surface? Really like this helicopter and considering buying one down the line. Thanks

      It is a recall. They were not hardened enough. Sab is sending new part to everyone free of charge. Here is a link.

      CoeShow619 thanks for the clarification. This is what I’m shooting for once I’m skilled enough to fly it. Thanks for all your videos. I’ve already benefited from watching them.

    Step 1, find a crack smoker to steal their torch. Steps 2,3,4,5, these are easy, just follow this video :-)

      @@CoeShow619 no brother. Most heli pilots i know hate airplanes. You are an exception. Any videos on TH-cam of you and a plane? BTW. You're a huge help with all of your videos. Thanks

      The hobbie shop I learned all I know in the last 10yrs. closed last year ,90% of their. bus. was heli's,now I'm stuck with shops that do 95% airplanes and know nothings about helicopters, these videos are so valuable. Thanks CoeShow619, keep it up.

    I think I'm gonna change the one way for an extra $30. This is not acceptable. Why do they make a belt tensioner and not include it in the kit. It's the little things that annoy me about this heli

    • @CoeShow619
      @CoeShow619  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You don’t need a belt tensioner. They want your wallet. The secondary shaft is free if you email SAB and do the retrofit sequence with them. Put some bearing grease on the bearing and in 15 minutes it will be good to go. Helicopters require maintenance. That’s why it’s a hobby.
