  • When Chico's Mick Smiley Band cut this previously unreleased demo track around 1981, they invited a few friends along for the ride, unaware their guests would soon become known celebs. The backup vocals are Freddy and Demi Moore, whom the band knew from gigging with Freddy's band The Kats. Guitars on the track are Redding's Aseley Otten, Chico's Kurt Kearnes, and his co-worker from The Troubadour - Phil Brown, who would later be hired by Little Feat and gain international notoriety as a virtuoso player.
"Me" marks a departure from the band's former power-poppish style, with an angular guitar line reminiscent of UK post-punk bands like Killing Joke.
