Beocord 5500 Feature Demo

I recently picked up an old Bang & Olfusen Beocord 5500 cassette deck, and thought that I'd do a quick demo of some of its rather unusual features.
Excuse the horrid lighting and focus; I completely lack any of the right equipment.
Most of the songs I'm taping are off Jeff Rosenstock's excellent album, We Cool?, so you should go and buy that.

Great video! But actually it's a 2 head configuration, with reverse recording option, not a real 3 head system (discrete heads for recording and reading). Also not a double capstan transport, just a standard auto-reverse deck with two pinch roller (one for each direction) and a single motor beltdrive. The nakamichi origin is doubtful to me, i never heard about any nakamichi with rotating head mount.

I own the same deck, found it at the streets near a trash container (...) Plays excellent. For one year or so, the draw was "stuck" (?) but suddenly it opened again. I have a new belt for the draw, but this goes far beyond my repairing skills. This machine is NOT service-friendly (like almost all B&O systems) and you need a lot of patience till you get to the bottom of the machine to change the belt.

Nice Video of a great Tape Deck. A have the same and it works very fine even if the Open and Close Button needs a little Force. I even learned a little more of the recording process with it now.

B & O was the Steve Jobbs of audio, minus the performance to back it up.
Wow and flutter was a pathetic 0.15%. To put that into perspective, entry level japanese decks were 0.045 % or better. Freq range: 30Hz - 18kHz (blah terrible !). Yank the guts out and use the enclosure for something more useful, like a big ashtray or something.

Never mind😂 i had to ask my mom about it, she is just old enough to know it that tge holes on a tape has to be closed to be able to re record
