For the benefit of the team we need a transfer fee for Trent he would move for big money that would be reinvested into the squad it’s the fsg model. Virgil and salah I can except because of their age and value we’ve had from them but Trent is in his prime and it’s scandalous that he could leave on a free.

Younger fans will struggle with this more than us oldies. We've seen the Premier League era, we've seen players come and go, we've seen our best players leave all before. This is different than those times as I trust where the club is and their vision but the more younger fans who have only known the Klopp era will start to ring the alarm bells.
I still think Trent will stay, it all seems to be a media hype up. Seen enough winters too see a media hype up.
I think it will be salah to go if any, because as you've seen from many examples a back like Virg could go onto 38.
At the end of the day I hope salah and Virgil take a paycut too stay.
We've seen the team without VVD, can look at season he was out & stats with him and without throughout his LFC seasons he's a elite defender, who realistically is out there, who LFC can get to replace him with then what would they cost for FSG who don't like to spend!
VVD clearly happy to stay and has 2/3 seasons left top level, he's our captain whose experienced in winning!
There's no excuse to not offer him deal!

How many VVD level defenders we had last 30 years?! This is different to other prem years when we weren't genuine contenders or winning things regularly we are now and fsg are letting 3 key players walk free. Klopp was key big reason made us elite not fsg.

2. What excuse have you for fsg leaving it so late to offer 3 elite players contracts?

Fsg net transfer spend is lowest of big 6 clubs last 10years, despite revenues,they've made profit in 2024 transfer window and reduced wage bill significantly with player exits 2024, they showed with Caceido bid they have money yet won't keep 3 of our best players, that's not ambition to win titles?
4. Do you actually want Liverpool to be genuine consistant contenders for big trophies or happy with a 8th to 2nd place finish, the whole "we've seen players come and go" sure but they wanted out and it didn't effect anything much in majority of prem era years, because we weren't consistant genuine contenders anyway for league, weve had many awful seasons, we are now genuine contenders but losing 3 elite players in same window clearly takes us out of running for Prem based on their stats!

Losing any top player for no fee is what needs to be spoken about. If Trent wants Madrid with his mates fine, but to go for free? Criminal

I really doubt any of the contracts are gonna be sorted before January. It just gives players so much negotiating power - Even if Trent really does want to stay he can then say to FSG "Give me 350k/w or I go to Madrid". Personally I think VVD and Salah stay but Trent leaves. It would suck, but imo losing VVD would be a much much bigger blow than losing Trent.

The people who abuse players for moving or are simply immature. All three have been great servants to the club and brought us the kind of glory I’d not expected to see again.
I hope all three stay but I think Trent is nailed on to leave and we need to wish him well and leave the door open to return if things don’t work out in Spain.

I respect what either player decides, just frustrating that we allowed it to get to this stage. Potentially losing all three for FREE is criminal. I hope it gets sorted, VVD a 2 year deal with a potential 1 year extension, Trent a 5 year deal and if Salah stays 1-2 year deal.
I knew trent was gone when we seen him crying at Klopps fairwell last season. I really want him to stay and be our captain. Its been so nice having a top class scouser in the team again. But I just can't see him staying. It's gonna hurt, especially if he goes to Madrid. And I can't honestly how I'm gonna feel about it. I just know I'm either gonna be really sad, or really angry
Can’t abuse the player. This is completely FSGs fault. I dare you to argue that fact. Who the hell allows Trent to get down to his final year of his contract? He should’ve been resigned to multi year contract right as he was named vice captain that was before Klopp even thought about retiring. That was last summer. Spanish football is an expression of Spanish culture at large: Leisurely. I look at a team like Wolves, and wonder: Are there any middling teams in La Liga with a midfield that aggressive?
This explains why Trent may succeed as a central midfielder in La Liga, especially in those low stakes games where a Madrid victory is seen as a foregone conclusion. No guarantees in the Prem. Not with hungry players like Ryan Yates, Joao Gomes, Mario Lemina, Abdoulaye Doucoure, etc floating around at sub-par squads.
Horrendous management if they go on a free, personally disappointed in Trent.
Loyalty in football is a one way street. Fans expect players to show loyalty but fan loyalty is a flaky thing. Did LFC fans show support and loyalty to Thiago, Henderson, Fabingo? The moment you are injured, lose form, the fans call you useless and want you out. I love all 2 players and I want whats best for them. They honoured their contracts, they paid their dues on the pitch, they dont owe the club or fans anything.
@@djkittypuff I did. Was frustrated with their injuries but i wasn’t blaming them. Would only blame someone if their attitude stinks (thankfully i have no examples from the current Liverpool squad)

My only concern is Virgil. Trent is not a good defender. He has admitted himself he prefers the attacking side of his game. He was getting rinsed at Old Trafford by mid players at times. My only beef is if he goes for free. Get him to sign a 2 year deal then sell him in the summer for a fee. Mo would be a loss but not a fatal one. Virg though we need to keep, he is the best captain we've had since Gerrard because he's also a world class player and he holds the defence together. Konate never looks right without him. Sell Trent, Mo and Nunez. Bring in a quality centre back and forward.

I'm sure some fans are too young to remember but this is Gerrard all over again. And just like Gerrard I can't imagine Trent leaving liverpool, it's his club and for him there's no bigger club in the world. I can only assume because of all the changes that happened in the summer is the only reason why salah, Trent and virgil haven't gotten new deals yet. Players of their status have some complex contracts that aren't as easy to sort out like say quansah.

Trent is a good fit for a team with a diminished midfield, and/or a team with diminished prospects for bringing in top quality central midfielders. However, if Liverpools midfield improves, or is set to improve, “Cheat code” Trent can become a hinderance to the development of said midfielders.
We all agree that Trent has failed to play a 6 outright, because he needs more time to read the game, and does not respond well to being pressed.
By skipping over the midfield in the buildup, it is quite possible that Trent is stalling the development of Szoboszlai and leaving out an adept attacker Mac Allister.
Trent is worth more when the squad isn’t firing on all cylinders, but worth less when the team is fully healthy and in form. “You can’t put a price on Trent” is a true statement today, just as it has been true for the past 3 seasons. Just not sure if people are taking the statement literally lol.
trent can do whatevr he wants. we will always hold him highly, he's done everything with us. the club loves him regardless.
Facts
If he wants to leave and do it on good terms, he'll sign a contract with the understanding he'll be sold in the summer. Him leaving us for free would be a genuine slap in the face. With that said, I think he signs with the understanding he'll be club captain within a year. I just don't think he could turn that down.
Couldn't have picked a worse time for an international break - no agreement reached with Trent and Carvajal's recent long term injury means Bellingham will be even more in his ear in the England camp, doing Florentino's dirty work.
I believe this is the continuing process that FSG started when they let Faminho go, its a project to reduce the cost of the playing staff, I dont think the 3 contracts will be renewed.
It also presents the rest of the squad with the example of what they can expect for their contracts.
The value of an individual is not only in a fee you may get for them, what they may cost you moving forward is also has a value to owners, and becomesca saving.
The issue is, if VVD and Mo both leave at same time, you have huge holes to fill especially Mo - how to do you make up the g/a he gives?. Teams will be aware and ramping up the price for anyone we go for IF we go for the best promising ones. TAA?. like someone else said, will be crime if he is let go for free. An Owen or Macca free :/
I agree but that isnt a concern for FSG,they are attempting to make the club more sellable not better. These players will all be gone in a few years and you cut their salaries and reduce squad costs. It becomes a problem for mew owners,vand they achieve a very lucrative sale. LFC are a commodity.

He’s going to choose wherever he will win the most trophies in the next 5 years. If he believes in slot he will stay but that’s a big if . I wish we invested in the club with players more often because I think this would help with believing in the project etc
If he stays at Liverpool, he will be remembered as a local hero. And he is not at a club that does not have the capacity to win the biggest trophies right now. If he goes to Madrid, he will be another "English star" for Real Madrid. Honestly, I am tired of this saga. And with all due respect, replacing Van Dijk is a much more difficult task for the club, no matter how unicorn Trent is. I would like to see Van Dijk's contract resolved more quickly.
Those three going in itself would be unfortunate obviously, but it would be an absolute nightmare if all three go for nothing…as far as mistakes from owners, I don’t think it would get much worse than missing out on 150-200+ mill for them
I have no idea if they'll stay or go but I think we can pretty safely assume the VVD & Mo issue is around yrs of contract. I am only guessing the Trent issue is money per week/years and possibly bonus's and image rights, and for all we know Trent could be asking for 500k a week for 6yrs ? What we do know from the past is Edwards (if he has the final decision) is not be trivialised when it comes to contracts and I do believe if the hierarchy think its in the best interest of LFC future they will let all 3 leave for free.
The issue is cost of VVD + Mo wages vs cost of bringing someone in to replace them AND the numbers. I personally think TAA is gone - if he leaves for free, he will leave like Owen and Macca and wont be welcomed back in the short term.
Trent's great, I really enjoy watching him play and I hope he stays. But if he doesn't he'll be fondly remembered, and they'll find someone to fill the space. Maybe not an exact fill, but I firmly believe that no one player is bigger than the club. Having said that I'll stress again - FSG should get their management team in gear and hand Trent, Virg and Mo new contracts sooner rather than later.
Imo if anything slot has improved trent defensively he is running back unlike before and his positioning has massively improved. Any 1 can get done on a 1 on 1. But to leave LFC on a free thats what will taint his legacy its like the dirtiest thing you can do to your supposedly supported club

Its just poor management from Fsg. We need more players in midfield and defence and if salah, virgil and trent will go the club have to get replacements for them. So they will have to buy 5 or 6 players which is wery unlikely.

Look it my opinion on the subject is simple. Firstly no one yet knows how the contract situation will turn out,but we only want players that are 100% behind Liverpool so if it takes till January for all minds to be made up so be it.

I think FSG have already got the ideas where their going on contracts that's why their making sure to tie down our other two center backs as they are young and are the future of the club, we all know Bradley has come on leaps and bounds as far the Trent situation, Salah could do another two seasons and his goals are important but do FSG wanna give a player of his age the same type of contract can't see it, specially with Edwards in charge he had problems with Klopp in the past when they were both at the club about giving older players & bit players contracts extensions but Klopp always got the nod!!!

All this talk of the contracts is getting so old, like fans feel like he's going to leave, how does anyone know anything? It's the media playing everything up about Real Madrid wanting him and creating this, because that's what they do, every player that plays today and will play in the future is going to Real Madrid. Maybe he will, but I really haven't heard anything from him to suggest that, it's all BS from the media. There's a Liverpool channel run by a British guy who lives in Spain, and he says there is really no talk there of this. Maybe Trent will go there, but from what I can see as of right now all this is just BS being spun by the media.
It feels like there's a lot going on behind the curtains. I think Salah will go, but I think TAA and VVD stay, and I'm *happy with that. I love Salah, but I think there's a big draw to Saudi and his culture and I cannot begrudge him. I'll be sad, but I get it.

He’s a £75 mil player. If he could learn how to play left back, like Philip Lahm did, then he could be a £90 mil player.

There isn't a issue the club is very mean. They rather cut the wage bill letting them all leave for free is a loss paying another extreme wages (5-6 Mil taking the wage bill down to to 60-120K 2Million annual wage bill. I'm so gutted for our club. We were at such a strong position back in 2020. We could have gone on to win multiple leagues and trophies if the owners had shown serious ambition. Klopp clearly deserved more backing

Personally i think if Trent leaves his legacy at the club is done. 1 prem at Liverpool is worth more than 10 la ligas with Madrid. I can see in 2024 though why he would want to leave but no one remembers what Owen or McManaman won at Madrid and they have no legacy at Liverpool. And the challenge is that if he wants crazy money he won't get that as others will want more.
