The overall car is good but I really wish they change the front a little to make it look more appealing.

The only reviewer who speak out the truth about the drive feel of this car... some other youtube reviewer who used to be very honest last time were also blinded by the 'incentives' given by UMW Toyota and praises this car as if it handles like a Supra. Thumbs up always for AutoBuzz.
But it handles well, this reviewer didnt push this car to the limits because tnga platform now is capable of good cornering abilities

exactly. 100 ish horsepowers are just too slow for this day and age. and i think the car can take more of it. jazz is noticable faster.
i guess they just dont want to get into corollas territory.toyota says if you want faster car go buy a corolla. so i can get more profit.

The front and the info system are questionable, but everything else seems fine.
To be honest, the yaris on the side looks more like a wagon cause it looks long, btw great review :)

the car looks sporty but the driving experience was not that sporty kind of..it just typical daily driving cars..fun..easy smooth drive..
The design is busy so the body kit is overkill. Also they should have had some more colour options.

Bar power output the Kia Rio is a far more sophisticated offering.
I have a rio at home and while it's a great car to drive with no problems, fuel consumption and service/cost to replace parts are a pain.

I actually like the Yaris. I like the prefacelift Yaris that was exclusive to Indonesia and Thailand. And it's great they finally brought it over.
But I'd probably say this over and over again(I already replied to 2 comments below with mostly similar points). But UMW botched up the looks of both the Vios and Yaris.
For 1) The bodykit, if possible, avoid it. The car actually looks better without it. For the Vios anyway, I know it was supposed to be optional, but every dealer listing I came across so far, all insisted of including the bodykit for "free" regardless of trim level. So literally all the 2019 Vios' I've seen, they all have bodykits installed. Even if it's the base model J trim.
Mind you, I've seen the same Vios in Singapore(Which they already got the car probably 1-2 years earlier than we do?), it doesn't have that stupid bodykit and I actually think it looks better without it.
I don't know why but UMW Toyota has a gay obsession towards bodykits.
2) Front grille. UMW Toyota botched up that lower front grille for the Malaysian market and I don't even know why. That colour matched insert at the number plate area there, it's hideous. But then the Singaporean/Thailand/Indonesian market Vios/Yaris/Ativ all have more normal looking grilles.
EDIT: I realized the Yaris for Malaysia will only have that ugly front grille if it's equipped with that bodykit. Thank goodness! But meanwhile in Indonesia, their range topping Yaris will come with the bodykit as standard (TRD Sportivo trim. Which I still think it's equally as stupid slapping the TRD name on there), but even equipped with the same bodykit, they don't have that ugly front grille no matter what trim level, or if it has a bodykit or not. So I still don't get why UMW will do that.
Meanwhile for the Vios, I'm not sure if it ever has the normal grille, because I never seen one without the bodykit.
That's all I need to say, I apologize if this sounds like a bitching rant.

agreed.. even my ikan kelisa yrv 1.3 turbo.. rates at 6 -6.7 ltr/100km.. how pathetic toyota.

Hmm ya we all know that the Yaris is a Japanese branded hatch, but while the Jazz is JDM, the Yaris screams ASEAN. Idk but sometimes when I am shopping for a Toyota, I prefer smtg developed in their home country. But there's a non JDM Toyota that I like, which is the Kijang Innova.

I really don't like how Toyota made the design at the back, especially the rear lamps. If I were to choose between 3rd gen Vios rear lamps and these, I would take the 1st one. So thin looking, so meh. So ugly. The rear black bumper below also looks ugly. Why can't it be simple? Like the 3rd gen Vios G. A car that looks sporty isn't my cup of tea.
Oh.. No I'm prefer Honda jazz...

In 2019 I test drove a brand new 2019 Toyota Yaris at the dealership. I was very unimpressed. I would stomp the gas down at a red light after it turned green and the engine would just roar, but when you watched the speedometer it was barely moving and I could smell something burning. A brand new car is not supposed to have a burning smell coming from it. I think they are junk. I would get a Corolla instead.

First impression when i enter the cabin, cheap plastic and hard touch everywhere. Way behind from mazda 2, and Peugeot 208. That screen resolution for 2019 car omg its like from tft phone screen.. 🤭🤭
Ride and handling, damn boring! Just nice to go and back from work.
Powertrain and engine output so sad👎👎👎 compared to predecessor like jazz 120hp mazda 2 114hp way shy for yaris only 108hp😂😂😂 not mention yet about torque!!
People just by this car for look only, between i also like hothatch, put ride n handling, car quality big turn off.. not fun car to drive.. i would rather go for kia picanto gtline even different segment..

the bodykit is just hideous , and i have no idea why the car sits quite high , look at that gap between the tyres and the fender arches.....but i suppose this is an everyday car , it shouldnt be advertised as anything else...i still go for the jazz though...more eager engine , slightly more room , and it sits better on the road....oh , did i mention that the bodykit is really ugly?!

Yeap it's a shame Malaysia don't have the Fiesta. However SDAC, Ford distributor in Malaysia is now focusing on more profitable models like the Ranger.
@@DylanChng The profit margins on the new MK4 Focus are apparently a lot higher with greater manufacturing efficiencies, SDAC/Ford should consider importing it to your market. Much better than the Civics and Corollas of the World which are sub-par and overpriced.
@@th-l8936 Ford has failed miserably in Malaysia. Very often they dont even sell 1 car in a month. The Focus and Fiesta's were poor sellers in Malaysia. Malaysians prefer VW Golf R and GTIs, Renault Megane and Mini performance vehicles in that category. The only Ford Malaysians want is the Ranger.

I love the fact that they have blind spot assist but i really can’t stand the look of this car, totally hideous. Too hideous to the point where i got honda jazz instead🤣 yikes!
