You’re too obsessed with some pixels on a screen

- Welcome, early adopters.
I'm currently testing something. The following may or may not have been written by a robot;
In this video, we’re diving deep into the strategy behind growing a TH-cam channel by focusing on True Fans instead of chasing massive view counts. We’ll explore why aiming for millions of views might not be the best approach for content creators and how a more targeted strategy can lead to sustainable growth. Inspired by Ryan Trahan’s success, and insights from books like ‘Crossing the Chasm,’ this video is a must-watch for any creator looking to build a dedicated audience and scale their message effectively.

dont worry jay, we'll be your core audience
this is the best "youtube advice"
*results may vary*
Thank You! This is a really good reminder for creators of Any size, to focus on making actually good content that appeals to your core audience, rather than trying to please the algorithms. Your audience will be able to see the difference and they'll support your better in the long run.
My content is superior to yours.
I don’t understand why your channel hasn’t blown up yet, because all the ingredients are there. It certainly will. That said, you have a great loyal core viewer base…some of whom would already be willing to pay you for channel coaching / mentoring if you went that way. I would.
when i see a huge youtuber, instead of seeing their millions of views, i genuinely now just see their (usually) incredible content. i think its finding a way to make incredible content that people should shoot for. great vid
The crowd visuals were actually gold. Such a good reference to use
Puts it all into perspective.
Jay, it's only a matter of time til you're at millions of views. Your videos really are a breath of fresh air mate.
I've had this mindset for a while. I always compare 20k views to selling out my favorite NHL team's arena. It's a good mindset to have.
Also delusional, because those tons people doesn't care much and just slop watch
Viewers > views
genuinely needed this advice, especially as somebody who has been relentlessly chasing for greatness/"mainstream success" straight from the get-go. thanks a lot man. :)
Love this analogy to the early adopters.
While I have a very clear picture in mind who my ideal audience is I also set a goal for reaching a ridiculous number of views because that's what makes creators successful. Right?
I'm planing a new season of content right now and I'll definitely keep this advice in mind.
As a creator who got millions of views off my content and also attended a convention where I was on stage in fronts of 100s of people. I can absolutely say being on stage had a much bigger impact. It's so hard to quantify the views in terms of people when it's such a high number.
Really is - we think 100k is nothing on TH-cam. It’s an absolutely insane number of people.
Really good point about focusing on the initial adopters/early market first rather than aiming for the mass market right away.
I remember I made a comment on your past video that was actually pretty similar to that Kanye quote lol but I actually see what you mean now and think you're right in trying to get that initial traction instead of jumping to unrealistic expectations.
Great Advice, and I can't wait for tomorrow's message
I have no clue how you keep posting these uninterrupted
love your videos man. well done. thank you for the inspiration and i'll see you tomorrow.
Build Brand Believers™️
The hook at the end for the tomorrows video is absolute 🔥🔥
See you tomorrow (or in 5 years)
I’m definitely someone who would “struggle to stay conscious” 🤣🤣🤣
I like you, energetic, fun, informative! Thanks.
Thank you, Jaye
Iam sure, this channel will be big soon!
Jay, what's the best way to contact you personally? There's no email on your info page unfortunately 🤷🏻♂️
Should be one in info - thinks it’s news@thumbnail.guide (I’ll double check)
Another great book to read bro is Tipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell! Loving the videos mate!
Nice
Loved this
Love this strategy 👍
Only time will tell

Hi Jay! I’m a real person and I enjoyed this video 🤠
1:32 I know I'm not the one to talk but I have an objection abt what you said. Mrbeast ludwig and marquess made a videos predicting their success and how they were gonna get were they are now. They said that they set a high checkpoints to reach and they prepare their videos as if they were recording for that many people. I wish it is easier in practice than speech lol.
But even the outliers started with die hard fans first. Without that, everything is built on shaky foundations.
Yes
Jay you keep reading my mind! Please stop
Just kidding thank you for this video jay😮
Mystic Alto
You strategy seems to pick up as I have already told multiple friends about you haha
W
the subtitles feels weird in a Jay video but ok
You’re probably right but never stop experimenting
I think Kanye's quote applies in effort put in, not expectation of said effort. Hes saying giving it your all guarantees success of some kind, the quote never intended monetary success to be in the equation
I feel like a view online is not comparable to a real world audience member. There’s next to no skin in the game when all a viewer needs to do is click a thumbnail & probably only watch a few seconds or minutes. Someone in a physical audience is likely to have a different relationship to an artist/creator/speaker that’s been cultivated over time.
Also, how much money someone is going to earn from speaking to 1000 people at an event vs getting 1000 views on a video will likely vary and demonstrates how the relationship is quite different.
As an artist I’ve busked to hundreds of people that happened to be walking by, I’ve had hundreds of thousands of people watch my content, and I’ve played music to 10 people around a campfire who were singing along. The campfire meant more to me than everything else.
❤
maaaan great advice! waking up every morning watching a new jay vido has been a great start to da day!🥳
TRUE FAN HERE! :)
while i agree with your general message and what you're trying to get across, i think it's important to not let a small audience dictate your general outlook of what your content should or shouldn't be. of course, their feedback is something you shouldn't take lightly but i think having a plan of what you want to achieve long term is important because it helps you stay on a path that allows you to make necessary changes and improvements without losing sight of your goal. people will never understand your vision so their opinions aren't always valid.
I like this. Balancing feedback is a fascinating topic in its own right. Probably make a video on it soon.
Your doing well
Obsession with pixels on a screen can trap us in illusions.
As Plato said, "The unexamined life is not worth living." Let’s unplug, reflect, and live in the REAL world. 🌍
Focus on what truly matters-growth, purpose, and human connection. Embrace reality, not the screen!
I feel like this is the most honest video I've seen on youtube growth. This is a really insightful perspective! Breath of fresh air. Thanks for sharing.
This is not the worst idea to deal with Y ouTube i heard today. And yes sadly it is one of many ideas i heard already in my 3 hours of wake time.
I've been watching your videos for a little under a year now, and I always leave with a new perspective or some food for thought. Thank you for what you do, Jay!
It’s my pleasure
Love these videos Jay, really trying to apply this in my own life! Thanks for all you do, see you tomorrow!
My pleasure. See you tomorrow!
