we don't get that many Yankees games on tv here in Vancouver, BC, but when we do, I love listening to Michael Kay and David Cone doing play by play and colour. the best!
Yeah, that's life. They'll still be the Yankees and they'll replace him with someone great. The Yankees will never be the same when they start letting them grow beards. I hope that never happens.
Great interview. The Yankees won’t be the same when Kay retires. He’s been there through the terrible early 90s Yankees, the mid to late 90s dynasty, 9/11, jester and Mariano’s entire career, 09 World Series and everything in between. Legend
1995: the first season for Derek Jeter, Mariano Rivera, Jorge Posada & Andy Pettitte, the last of whom was the only one to spend any time in another uniform (only 2 seasons). The Core Four! 1995-2011/2014
It's hard to call Mariano Rivera the most clutch Yankee when he blew the 01 WS and the 04 ALCS. I get it, he's amazing and he's human, I'm not knocking him for that, and he saved a million more that we may have lost without him, but those were big ones to blow. If he had blown game 1 of the WS or something, that would be one thing, but he blew last inning, game 7 of the 01 WS. That is huge
Michael Kay is so interesting, so good at what he does, so informative, etc...but and I say this as a Yankees lifer...he is 100% a schill for Yankees ownership...and it's made worse that he pretends he's not 🤣
It's definitely not 100% because he rips them at times too. I just think he loves his job and wants to keep it, but sometimes he says things that you know he's getting ripped for.
@@MoMoMyPup10 It's far and few in-between though. He definitely carries water for Hal and Cashman and Boone (especially) when they each deserve some heavy criticism. I will agree he wants to keep his job and I get it...YES is owned by the Yankees and they sign his checks...and if he just said that once, okay...but he acts impartial when he's really not. Just my opinion
at this point I dont think its about being afraid of being fired or getting in trouble. i think he has his biases but I believe it's mostly because he grew up as a fan and once you land the dream job you always wanted that bias is only gonna grow
Anyone else think Derek Jeter's stock has fallen the last few years? There were like some videos made highlighting how poor he was defensively and I think some ppl got turned off by it. They had this view of him as a super shortstop with the flip play against Oakland, and now it's like some ppl think it was all a mirage bc advanced metrics say he wasn't a good defender
@@thomasvinelli yes, true but I think in this case it just slipped his mind. They’ve had several seasons since 93 where they finished over .500 and not making he playoffs. But that 93 season was fun I remember it well. When the turnaround started to happen.
I am a few years older than you and I completely agree. Just like Breen is the voice of the Knicks for me (no disrespect to Marv), Kay is the voice of the Yankees.
Michael Kay has the worst HR call in MLB history "See Ya". What is that??? Can't believe he's going to hang his hat on that generic line for the rest of his career. Wish he would retire with Angel Hernandez. Or at least stop saying "See Ya". He just waits to say it and there is zero emotion behind it.
A 47minute interview was such a pleasant surprise! Had so much fun watching this
they're both so funny and the crew chiming in on the funnies as well
This was really great. An absolute treat for us Yankee lifers who have grown up listening to Kay
Unexpected fantastic interview. Not a NY guy or a Yankees fan so I had no idea who this gentleman was when he showed up. Highly entertaining segment.

“You’re trying to meet women, that’s why you throw parties.” God bless you, Michael Kay.
The goat
Red Sox fan, but much respect to Mr. Kay. Gotta respect the legends.
Same here
Watching the yanks will never be the same when kay retires
A lot of us said the same thing watching Rizzuto and White 😮😮back then

Kay and O'Neil are excellent together.

There will be an entire TMKS devoted to why Kayster didn't mention Don or Peter once on this hit 😂
Peter is a female
That’s not even funny
@@Stacey_-bf2mb😂
@@Stacey_-bf2mb So Just becuase you think Peter is a Female that means he does not deserve to be mentioned? wow that makes no sense whatsoever!!

I'm in Oregon. Brosius legend here. He coached for years at Linfield College in beautiful McMinnville, OR. He was clutch!
Michael is awesome, not a Yankee fan but I do think the Yankee broadcast and production is among the best in the business
I loved this interview. Mr. Kay has so much personality. I wish he would do more interviews.
24:59 LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
I could listen to these men tell baseball stories all day
This warmed my heart. Thank you Rich and MK
Michael is awesome. Yankee fans don’t know how good they have it.
Such a great interview!!
I’m not the biggest Michael Kay fan when he’s calling games. But he’s much more enjoyable in these interviews that really become good conversations.
So many memories.
THIS WAS GREAT!! You guys are awesome together. Very entertaining 😂😂
Amazing interview...
Love this and the 47 mins
Great interview. Grow up watching these two .

Jeter was the definition of clutch! Greatest postseason player EVER!!!
Great statement by MK. Boston stopped spending money. Everyone sees it and the ownership doesn’t say it and tries to bs the fans.
No Francesca question? Loved when Kay did the Diet Coke thing

Did he get a WS Ring calling games in 09?
Hilarious that Michael is a well traveled, sophisticated, cultured adult who never left the kid food yummy phase lol
Kay is the GOAT
What the hell can the Jets say about Rogers' opinions when they had Michael Vick.
I’m not crazy about the radio side now that John S is gone . Was hoping for Ricky Ricardo
Kayster is a treasure
Totally disagree with their schedule opinion. I LOVE seeing the every team play each other
lol I grew up in Staten Island, NY, and nope, never reached that goal lol.

Michael Kay New York legend!
Michael's one of the best.
Kay made it to the eisen just like Gus Johnson did over a year ago
Kay is incorrect as 1993 was not a losing season. They didn’t make the playoffs but they finished over .500 and in 2nd place to Toronto.
In Yankees land that’s a losing season.

If there is any possibility or interest in Rich replacing sterling then it simply must happen
29 other teams bidding on Soto? More like 6.
Most clutch: Leyritz
Fordham legend
I had Mel Allen and Red Barber to listen to.
Soto in NYY pinstripes 4ever!
Aaron Rodgers doesn't say weird things Mike. He just doesn't tow the line for American communists.
As a twins fan, I could care less about the Yankees.

Michael had an egg white omelet on a Cruise - dont trust this man!
LOL that these guys think the world gave a crap about the baseball "world" series.
Rich, you can replace Kay any day as far as I'm concerned.
