Aaron Rodgers has reached the playoffs 12 times and has won 1 Super Bowl. That is a winning percentage of 8.33%.
Eli Manning has reached the playoffs 6 times with 2 Super Bowls. That is a 33.33 % winning percentage.
Aaron has had the better regular season career. Eli has had the better playoff career and more rings.

Eli won playoff games two seasons in his life. He lost all the others.
Rodgers took GB teams that would have finished with losing records and carried them into and through the playoffs. To illustrate the point, let us look at the three season wherein Rodgers missed significant playing time due to injury: 2010, 2013, 2017.
      Year with Rodgers without Rodgers
      -------- ---------------------- ---------------------------
      2010 10 - 4 0 - 2
      2013 6 - 2 2 - 5 - 1
      2017 4 - 2 3 - 7
      ----------------------------------------------------------------
      Total: 20 - 8 5 - 14 - 1
I challenge you to find any other QB in football history - Montana, Brady, anyone - where the team loses even close to that much when the starting QB is out. When you take a 5 - 14 - 1 squad and take them to 20 - 8, that means that you are surrounded by a very weak group and are singlehandedly winning with them.
No one has ever done that in NFL history. Except Aaron Rodgers.
And still...there are limitations when your team is that bad. In four of his five NFC Championship games, GB was on the road, meaning they were playing a better team. Rodgers can be Superman, but he can't be all 53 guys on the roster. Take, for example, the 2014 Championship Game in Seattle. The Packers' Special Teams blew it twice - by allowing a fake field goal which became a 19 yard pass play, and by doing a dreadful job on Seattle's onsides kick, letting Seattle recover. And then with GB down by 3, Rodgers led the Packers down the field in 44 seconds to tie the game. Seattle won the coinflip, and GB never touched the ball.
Let me further point out that any theory about Rodgers being unable to perform against tougher competition is blown away by some other facts. For one thing, look at the numbers he has put up against Pete Carroll's Seahawks in their prime, which no other QB managed to come near at the time when Seattle had the Legion of Boom. For another, do you know what Rodgers's numbers are in his Super Bowl appearance, against the Steelers? Don't worry, I'll tell you:
      304 Yards
      3 TDs
      0 INTs
      Rating 111.5
Do you know which team had the best defense in the NFL that year?

That Packers team was the best team in Football that season had great players all around Rodgers on both sides of the ball with 7 pro Bowlers 4 on offense and 3 on defense with multiple All-Pro selections but even then Eli's team didn't only win but he thoroughly outplayed Rodgers. also regarding 2007, yes I of course understand the argument about the defense carrying Eli. But Eli actually played quite well that postseason run. Perhaps the best stretch of football he played to that point in his career. He didn't throw an INT until the Super Bowl, and we know how prone he was to throwing INTs. So it's not like the defense had to make up for bad QB play. You had solid QB play to go along with great defense. Also let's not forget what he did through the air in that NFC Championship Game in Green Bay.

BUT!! Guys remember not only did Eli win two SB''s,remember who he beat in those SB's?? (TWICE IN HIS PRIME) One of them Eli destroyed their undefeated season, does that not count for anything? How many QB's in the NFL can say they beat Brady, let alone beat him twice, also let's be clear Eli beat Aaron Rodgers & Brett Farve both in their primes in Green Bay. I can also make.an argument that Bradys first two SB's were Patriot Defense, and a kicker that won his beginning SB's. After that that's when Brady started coming into his own,Eli was the driving force for both his rings. Finally MVP's are nice but that is an individual achievement, championships make your legacy & is a team goal. STOP IT!!!

Eli beat the two GOATs of all time in the NFL with top-20 defenses against the Patriots’ top-tier team on both sides of the ball. If this had happened to Rodgers, there would be an endless discussion on who the real GOAT is. People would bring up stats and MVPs and regular-season performances, but this isn’t allowed for Marino, Montana, or Elway? Rodgers's career was light years ahead of Eli's, something no serious person could dispute. And I have nothing against Eli, but he's no Rodgers, obviously.
In a standalone comment I wrote in response to this video, you can see where I demonstrated statistically Rodgers's single-handed raising of GB to a new level. All you need to do is look at how they did with him and then without him in the years in which he missed significant time. As a GB columnist put it at the time, GB was Cleveland (then a laughingstock) plus Aaron Rodgers. He was the difference between them being a joke to being a perennial playoff team. Then look at Rodgers's postseason numbers, which Tom Brady could only dream of having. Rodgers is a Top Three all time QB. Eli may not be Top 25.

If I wanted the regular season accolades, I'd pick Aaron Rodgers. If I wanted the playoff accolades, I'm taking Eli. Talent wise there's no question that Aaron is the better QB by a large margin. I don't think anyone who loves football will dispute that. HOWEVER... there's something intangible about winning a championship for New York City that can't be discounted. And both times it required almost miraculous postseason runs with nearly perfect QB play from Eli, I mean his playoff stats in those championship runs, it's like looking at a totally different QB compared to what he did for the majority of his career. In those 2 runs, I think he played in only one home game as well. He had to beat the 13-3 Cowboys, 15-1 Packers, 17-0 Patriots... I mean good lord.
He had to beat Romo, Brett Favre, Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady twice...and while it's not an individual player, that 2011 49ers defense deserves to be mentioned. It had *THREE* 1st-team All Pros on it, and numerous pro bowlers. Guys like Patrick Willis, Donte Whitner, NaVorro Bowman, Carlos Rogers. Or guys like Frank Gore and Vernon Davis on the offense. He had to beat a lot of hall of famers lol. And that 07 Pats team is among the greatest teams ever assembled, some would argue THE best. While the Giants defense played a large role in those super bowl wins, Eli deserves a ton of credit for how he played during those playoff runs as well. I'm pretty sure they were the underdogs in every single matchup in those 07 and '11 playoffs.
So yea, it's an interesting conversation to have. I don't think it's absolutely CRAZY for Stroud to say Eli, it's just an opinion after all. I don't think most people would share that opinion, but I understand it. I will say there's zero conversation to be had whatsoever if Aaron wins another one and does it with the NY Jets. That door will be slammed shut lol.

• @joshbeezley4158
    @joshbeezley4158 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Note: WE MUST MAKE A DIFFERENTIATION HERE. The question of, "Who had the better career" is not the same as "Who was the better QB?" They are totally separate and unrelated questions.
While you can make the case for Eli having the better career, you can't objectively make the case for Eli being the better QB. Rodgers, in his prime, until Patrick Mahomes came along, was considered, by many (including many non-packer fans) the most well-rounded and physically gifted QB in league history and he is statistically better than Eli in every major passing category. I know the question was whose career was better. I won't fight anyone for saying it's Eli (as long as the reasoning behind that is he won one extra ring). But it's worth pointing out that this question is not necessarily unflawed as it can imply that the better career does equate to that player being better than the other.
Nobody, unless you're probably a biased Giants fan, would say Eli was a better QB and if your basis for saying he was, is because he has one more ring, consider this: He has no MVPs, Rodgers has 4. Eli has no all-pros. Rodgers has 4, again. Eli has 4 pro bowls. Rodgers has 10. Rodgers was a HOF All-2010's Decade Team QB. Eli made no all-decade teams. Eli led the NFL in interceptions, twice. Rodgers has only thrown double digit interception totals in a season, three times in 15 years. Rodgers, at his best, his peak, was at least considered in #1 NFL QB discussions, also involving a former Patriots QB. Eli was never considered top-5 in his era. (All of these accolades and statistics I just laid out are INDIVIDUAL accomplishments, btw. These reflect what and how the PLAYER did, independent of overall team success stats, which I will now be covering in the following sentences.)
Eli was a .500 regular season QB, contributing to a 117-117-0 record. Rodgers had more success, contributing to a 148-75-1 record. Eli made the playoffs 6 times. Rodgers made it 11 times. Between the two Super Bowl title years in 2007 and 2011, the Giants defense in the playoffs only gave up a combined 15 PPG average. Rodgers' defenses from 2008-2019, in 18 playoff games, allowed a whopping 27 PPG average. For reference, Brady's 24 games in that same timespan saw his defenses only allow a 23 PPG average and he was 3-2 in super bowls. I don't understand how the saying, "Defense wins championships" has gotten lost here.
But back to the point, it's important to not confuse "better career" with "better player." These are NOT the same question. You want to make the case for Eli having the better CAREER, that's fine with me, again. But the differentiation between the two questions is critical to understand and keep in mind when having this discussion so as to keep context.

      -------------------------------------------------------------------
      Total: 20 - 8 5 - 14 - 1
Let me further point out that your theory about Rodgers being unable to perform against tougher competition is blown away by some other facts.
Do you know which team had the best defense in the NFL that year?

also did these idiots forget that Rodgers literally had the best most stacked team in football in 2011 (15-1) but got bodied and outplayed by my giants and Eli. That ebds the argument there.
Also eli had horrible teams basically from 2013- the end of his career with the 2016 defense caring them to the post season. Ridgers has had good-great teams most of his career and still always choked in the playoffs.
Rodgers got his revenge in 2016 but rewarch that game. Eli was making great throws and plays but all his recievers decided to leave their hands in miami!

Because they beat the hottest team in the NFL quite literally. Your a dingleberry. Also he came back and beat Brady for a second time. This is just not winning one extra super bowl. This is beating the greatest quarterback who won seven super bowls twice. End of discussion.

Right off the bat he was asked "There has to be a best QB to never win a SB, is it cool that's you or does it suck that's you" The look of annoyance and disappointment on his face said it all.. And when they went over his 1 SB appearance/loss to Montana and the 49ers again the look of annoyance and disappointment on his face said it all.. Marino and Eli will both be in the HOF. But Eli has his 2 rings and will always feel 100% complete as a player.. Marino does NOT.. You can tell..
