A woman found out her childhood home no longer belonged to her after the county processed a fake deed. It’s what she did about it that landed her uncle behind bars.
The issue at hand is not the document itself but the notary who witnessed a dead woman signing the document. My beef with stories like this is that as heart breaking as it may be to hear of these scams , it's always the citizens that have to pay for some scam artist in the form of new laws that always comes with some kind of tax , or fees or for me to sell my own home I have to sell with an agent ....etc etc. The government officials always want to take someones sad situation as a way to always tax us or charge some kind of fees or license to " so call " protect it's citizens. So from what I am seeing here is that the city is not at fault , nor are the citizens but rather the notary system needs to be checked upon. Period. All that extra stuff of getting a membership is all bull. It's just a way to keep getting into my pockets. I can't stand government.
That’s bull. The registers office is lazy and didn’t check to notary credentials. We live in a lazy society. If the notary stamped it without both parties present, that’s a different story.
😢 Imagine if a disabled widows husband died, and the house begins to go in foreclosure. Then a con artist ( mortgage broker), comes around to supposedly "help" the individual who's dead husband handled that part of life. Then he refies the existing loan with the dead guys income and has the widow sign a contract for deed (taking all of the equity that her and her dead husband has in the house, via fake contract that he made up. That "super broker" (means he does this for a reason: greed), then even has the nerve to remove the default clause, only to make the DISABLED WIDOW held accountable when he can't pay..... Thankfully you can report people like that to multiple government agencies as well as scare them into filing the documents with the county so you can then pursue the new law on filing false documents.... Unless they move, with no words or issues, then you can forgive them for such a heinous act.
there's a housing crisis in america, not because there's a lack of homes but because people don't know how to let go. does anyone in that neighborhood really want to see a boarded up home that isn't being touched?
They sound like some haters ... 9 * 10 the woman was losing her house and the uncle took it from the before the state took over it. I really don't see nothing wrong with that they probably didn't have enough money and then up brains to do it yourself so they are mad

This happened to me 13 years ago 😢
It's not the people's problem it's Miss Ford need to be removed from that office
When it comes to lands and homes, no NOTARIZER should signed without a lawyer present
I’m autistic and this is happening to me
He should be thrown in prison for what he did. I’m glad the ladies got their house back.

ALWAYS PURCHASE ENHANCED TITLE INSURANCE! This is what it is for.
I'm not sure about that. I thought title insurance just protects you from issues with the title that stem from before you owned the property.
Going thru this right now
Good Luck & don't give up. This happened to me in 2008 and I never got my properties back but I was able to have the notary arrested.
This happened to me in Brooklyn
And my own parents did it 🥺
NICER prevents this.
How ridiculous
I been working on getting my home 🔙 😮
