My grandmother would make cream style corn with those types of ears. My grandfather worked for International Harvester way back, they had a refrigerator like that one made by IH. Grandma got a new fridge sometime in the 70's but the IH went on the carport and she used it there. Years later my father got it and used in his office, then ... I got in in the early 1980's and used it in my office for many years,. When I left that job and moved away, my brother was still working there and it still worked. Never had it worked on, it just worked all the time with no service ever.

Very glad you finally posted something. Was concerned that something might had happened. But at times I remind myself that you are busy with other things and maybe time consuming. I really enjoy your vids with all the things you are into. You really like old stuff and making things functional again. Just know glad you are well and so good to see you again.

Hope yall finally started getting some rain. I'm in east Tennessee, about 40 miles N/E of Knoxville, and we were in a drought but we've gotten a lot of rain over the last week. As I type this, I can hear the rain outside, been raining on and off all day long. I never complain about the rain, it's always a blessing.

We live in a desert, but we have irrigation water from reservoirs in the mountains. So thankful for it. Without it we would not be able to have our garden & fruit trees and berries. Sorry y'all are having such a drought.

I'm in northern TN, we have been in a drought, and in the 90's! We do have ac in the house! I love that old frig you got! That was the first one I remember my parents having, I was born in 1954. I remember Mom having to defrost the freezer! The next one they got was frost free, my Mom demanded it! Sorry about your corn, the farmers market isn't selling much!

What an awesome refrigerator!! I love it!! You have a good collection of antique items! It's hot and dry here in SW. Va. too! We did get a heavy rain on the 4th, and another on the 5th. Plus a couple of good showers in between. Up till then it was really dry, and now we are dry again. But I was thankful for what we got. It was hit or miss around here so some got it and some didn't. Hope ya'll get some good rain soon. It is going to be hot here for the next 3 days and then cool down quite a bit. Hopefully we will get some more rain when the cool front moves through. Hope the family is well and God bless!

Always look forward to your videos! The weather has been 🥵 and dry here also. Our corn is about 3 ft tall and ears look no bigger than a hotdog if that. Cooler temps coming in but very slight chance for rain. Gardens are having a rough go this year. That old fridge looks great. I wish everything was built to last like it use to be. Hopefully rain will come through before long and Bless everyone that has a garden and cans up their own vegetables. Take care and God’s Blessings on you and your family. Looking forward to your next video.

My grandma had a refrigerator just like yours. It's manual defrost and I remember boiling water and putting it in the fridge to hurry up and melt the ice all around the freezer. It worked good when she gave it away, she was just tired of manual defrost. It's dry all over the southeast another homestead said their tomatoes didn't do good this year. I enjoy your video.

Jared, it is good to see you! Wow! What a find with that old refrigerator & I love the color too.
Here in WNC mountains the season started so wet it drowned a lot of my garden. Now it has been unusually hot and dry, supposed to get rain later this week. Luckily I have a well and have been able to water some. My beets were sad & dying back so I pulled them and only got a small amount pickled (but thankful for those). Praying you'll get rain as the heat & draught are hard on everything/one. Blessings

bout 2 hours south of you near Tn. Va. line and we are burning up too. That old fridge is a good'n We had one growing up and I know it had to be at least 50 years old when it finally kicked the bucket in the late 90's early 2000's. Used to have to manually defrost it every now and then good find there.

Hey Y'all, That is tough on the corn condition with no water. I am on the opposite side of the coin. We had 22 inches of rain already this year. ALL my okra drowned in 3 inches of water by the time I got new ones growing I know they will produce but maybe half of what I wanted. I had 80 beautiful green big leaves and then all dead.
Like you said we take all the good with all the bad and thank God for what we get! I do know I got some great taters comin and the garlic is so good I can smell in on my deck. I was happy to see you had a video today I miss seeing y'all and am glad when you have the time to put one together for the youtube.
I been collecting buying and selling stuff since I was 10 years old at the flea markets. I love all them things you got in the cellar that is the perfect spot for them cans. I got a whole wall of oil gas and petroleum cans in my garage from the floor to the ceiling. Farm cans of every kinda old antique products they don't even make any more. I reckon my wife will want me to sell all that stuff someday and get enuf money for a vacation.
God bless y'all stay safe on the farm in this hot summer, Steven

We’ve had a lot in the last few weeks, with storms traveling the coast, and we also have a well on our property, even tho we are in the city limits, it was there when we got the property. We used it for a week then had all the rain, and our garden is looking nice. Sure wish I could send you some rain. Take care, Angela 😊

Dry here in the Piedmont NC. Rained one time in a month. Had to revert to watering my small garden and raised beds. The Lord has blessed us with plenty of Blueberries, cucumbers, Tomatoes, Green Beans, Green Peppers, Banana Peppers, but the potatoes did not do well. We were able to harvest some garlic but if it was not for having a way to water the garden I don't think we would have gotten much. Have been able to can some Blueberry Jam, Tomatoes, Peppers (Cowboy candy), and freeze green beans, blueberries, and peppers. Looks like we might get some rain by the end of the week. Grass has dried up mowed one time in 5 weeks only to knock down the high spots. Good luck with the Homestead and we enjoy the videos. 😁

It's been dry in the mountains of NW NC too. Dirt roads are all dust. We had an inch of rain law week, we needed it, but we're still "abnormally dry" according to the drought monitor. My watermelon, strawberries and taters are hanging on.
Starting to get nervous when I'm running the blacksmith forge with bituminous coal and it throws a spark.

Here in Portland, Oregon it's been up to 100 degrees F. for several weeks. There are fires in the East part of the state. I have to water my little garden at least 2 times daily just to keep it from withering. My tomatoes got sunburned and aren't setting fruit well. The only things doing well are the herbs like rosemary, thyme and oregano, and mint. Even the flowers are struggling. All this by the middle of July. I hate to think what August will bring--it can be in the high 90's for weeks then. Not a good garden this year at all, even with water.

How do! Listen I am ignorant! However even a blind frog catches a fly once in a while. I planted in our 1860 homestead garden. It had been overgrown with black walnut. Figured it would be acidic and grow nada. With a little analysis. The garden was at the bottom of a southern slope with clay underneath 4-6in soil. I planted several test subjects and they all loved the clay as a water source. I imagine a few amendments I will try a real garden as I am so far behind on our great great great grandfathers cabin. Always love your videos!

east tn and it has been very dry here too, I cut my corn off a week ago not even enough on it to eat, but silks were brown. l love the fridge hang on to it ive heard old refrigerators are good to store animal feed in if it ever stops running, but it will probably out run some, if not all new ones. we got new ones about 5 yrs ago and already been worked on about 3-4 times, they said it is because of all the energy regulations the manufacturers have to meet. .

Seems lately there is never a happy medium regarding weather, you have a drought and up North here we have way too much rain, reeking havoc with mold and mildew on the squash, zucchini and cucumber leaves, cherry spot on the leaves of the cherry trees, fungus starting on the peaches and plums just too much rain. I have a steep road also like you that leads to my property just not serpentine like yours, mine is a straight run of about 2000 feet downhill and I'll bet I lost 4-6 inches of top coat off the road in the last 3 years with those freakish downpours where we get 1 inch of rain in 30 minutes so now all the base 2-3 inch stone/rock is showing and the vehicles are take a pounding driving on it, got to get the York rake out and drag it all to one side and then bucket it up into a pile. Hope the weather get better for you and me.
