A Fellow TH-camr Tomley RC Had the same RC car and ran perfectly, took turns perfectly and ran very smoothly. So yeah out of the factory you need to tune the Gyro if not just change the receiver and get it on another go. Hope this works for you two also merry christmass!

So much so I've bought a few extra sets for my other touring cars. This chassis is extremely precise, it slides beautifully, it's really quick & fast, it's durable & it's super smooth.. It really is an absolute joy drive.!!. I LOVE IT.!! I've had my FTX version for nearly two months now, I've driven it a lot (on 3S), I've fitted a couple of different bodies to it (the Killerbody Nissan R34 looks AMAZING & fits perfectly with velcro) & it's now become one of my favorite 1/10 on road chassis, it's better than all my Tamiyas, my HPI RS4 Sport 3, my 4tec, my Banzai & it's up there with my Hobao EPX.! Yes, the quality of the hardware & shock springs could be better because they've started to rust due to the wet salted Scottish roads I drive on & the bearings aren't great. The salty water got in & they started collapsing after a couple of weeks... I've replaced them with decent rubber shielded ones & it's perfect now.! I've had 59 MPH out of mine so far & it's so planted at high speed.!!... You can practically nail it off the line & not touch the steering for the whole run (most of my other 1/10 stuff won't do that). I usually drive mine with the gyro turned fully off, it doesn't need it imho.! I cant recommend this RC enough.. YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED.!! As long as you do those two things as soon as you get it out the box if you're going to run it 3S.!! I don't know how much the HNR Panther version is in the US, but I paid £240 for mine.. The lovely Hobbywing brushless system, radio gear, servo, stand alone light kit & 2S lipo alone would cost about 75% of that price.!! It's an absolute bargain... As soon as you correct that issue. It will drive just fine. You just need to push a small button on the reciver, or so.
I had the same issue with the gyro, but pressing the button twice on the side of the receiver didn't work for me so I removed it and pushed the button twice on the other side and now it works perfect. I only found this out as someone else had the same problem. If you're thinking of buying one don't let the negative comments put you off, its a superb car.
From my point of view one should always check the gyro direction before using it the first time…. Did you check it or at least did you do it afterwards?
I've seen in another persons review of a similar one ( FTX Stinger) the gyro was correcting in the wrong direction. so the gyro is definitely an issue go through the gyro settings and see if you can fix it for your enjoyment. thanks for the review for the out of the box experience
It’s a switch on the receiver for the giro I believe. Tomleyrc sussed it and Kev Talbot only found out after he’d driven over two of them out of frustration.
Hi guys! Within the first ten seconds of this video I said to myself "good luck with that one guys" reason being is that I've seen many reviews of this model and no one has managed to get this car up to anywhere near the claimed speeds on the box. Everyone that has tried or even got close results in the car going airborne and worse. I knew right away that you had zero chance. Don't beat yourselves up guys, had you have managed to reach box speeds whilst keeping the car in one piece it would have been a world first. Infact I've seen folks get that frustrated with this model that they ended up destroying two of them by purposely driving over them with a 4000lb landrover.
Honestly, your comment makes both of us feel a LOT better about our driving ability or lack thereof. I feel like I did okay hitting 49mph (I think that’s what I hit) but I definitely destroyed it when I did that!! Poor car. It looks so good!! 👍💯⚓️
@@TheRcSaylors Noooo! To be honest you did really well to reach 49mph, I've seen ppl trying for 20mins just trying to keep this car in a straight line and still didn't manage 49mph before totaling it. 👍🏻
@@TheRcSaylors It's such a shame really because I agree, the car looks absolutely gorgeous.. I was gonna get one until I saw the troubles ppl were having with it. Maybe a decent set of tyres would make a difference? Although that said I believe there is also a massive aero issue with that bodyshell and those speeds. I could be wrong. 😁
seeing so many comments saying the car is junk just because a tyre came off and it cant do 56mph, wow, there is more to RC than what a car can do in a straight line
There is nothing wrong with this RC car, yes the gyro is set up the wrong way which is a five min fix, plus the standard tyres balloon with 3s so you just need to get some foam tyres on there and my one goes fine in a straight line plus thicker diff fluid will help with the stability as well
I believe if you looked at that suspension, and actually measured everything, I would almost bet money that you would realize that that is a smooth payment vehicle as in an actual track. I’m not being smart, I promise honestly, but that’s a track car there’s no way that thing gonna handle any kind of bumps at those speeds, especially with the steering set so sensitively.
There’s been a few videos of these now , 100% the gyro is plugged in backwards causing you to lose control, Kev talbot and tomley Rc had the same issues
You can fix the gyro by pressing a button on the side of the gyro to reverse it. Several TH-camrs have shown that the gyro comes out of the box programmed wrong.
these are shipping with giro reversed, you need to remove receiver from car and access button on hidden side, press it twice and change giro to correct direction and reinstall receiver
It's called a Ftx stinger in the uk.out of the box but I have seen the gyro is often set in the wrong direction. Ftx is great for cheap spares. I have the ftx brushless zoro and it has been amazing. This may be their first failure out of the box, but with a little work, it could be amazing .
Yeah reverse gyro or avc, I made that mistake with a roller - once. Is this the same as the FTX Stinger? Body and specs look good… I don’t blame either of you, bad out of the box, I mean no control is no control - I think you did what you could. For what it’s worth, I do not use avc/tsm/gyro for speed runs usually, if I do it’s way dialed down…
That car was strictly made for drifting. And yes, Nate broke it the bash queen camp break a car, unless it’s bashed, and that one didn’t get bashed it chewed itself up.
If i hear rubbing i pull over my real car as well as my rc car to see whats causing issue...with rc cars its easy to check for tires hitting while holding car...if you don't know how tires balloon way more on 3s than with 2s you in the wrong...imo 40 mph top speed for a car that size in very fast...thats the the same as full size version doing 400 mph...
Back when I raced 1/10 on-road, we didn’t have speeds and power like this. That said, we would soak the surface to make it sticky, and run hand cut foam tires. Decent tires might fix the issues with this car.
That is true that super cold tires could perform really poorly. Do you think the warm car ride is enough or should they be even warmer for a speed run like this? ⚓️
@@TheRcSaylors yes, but more important is if there is a gyro it should be calibrated and also, steering sensitivity should be almost maxed out meaning it shouldn't allow the car to turn easily. Less sensitivity. I would adjust it so a full rotation equals the least amount of reaction.
I put street tires on a Bandit and I couldn't get any speed out of it because the tires were so hard. I was told to soften them with eather brake fluid or lighter fluid. I ended up going back to the original tires. They are soft and wear out quickly, but at least they grab. Your name came up at the airfield today concerning reviews of planes and helicopters and how much more truthful you are than those being sponsored by the company. I really see no reason to invest in that car as I can see issues with it. Looks mean nothing unless you are building static models. Good job on the rating. I agree. Mabe a scoring system would work. People like scoring.
It’s not a bad car you have too reverse the gyro and it’s amazing after that. The gyro comes in the wrong direction. Don’t know why but that’s the whole problem. It’s a great car once you fix that. That’s why it spins out. And the tires are shit but you can get better ones and that improves it too. Give it another shot after you reverse the gyro.
The car is sexy as heck but it will need some upgrades for sure. And as for people who say you only say good things. We can see with our eyes that it was a dud. We can see all the flaws that happen in real time. Some people are just anger addicts and need to put others down. May you and your family have a happy and HEALTHY 2024!

Not sure if you know , but the tires on this ballon into the chassis causing it to lose control. It will the the claimed speeds it says. It just needs harder tires. HNR is at fault for this as they have known this for a year now. 2s will not cause the ballooning. Other than that it’s a great car!
I think it was just fine. When I try speed runs. Which is not to often. First I would make sure it’s going in a straight line. Then totally take all steering out. Check to make sure it’s going straight. You don’t have to drive fast to see if it’s going straight. This way it doesn’t matter if you over correct . Or you have a gyro. Turn the steering back up at the end of the straight. So you can turn around. We used to do this when I raced carpet oval. One guy made a switch on his transmitter. That gave him full steering if he got into trouble. We had no reverse. So we bought esc’s with no reverse. It was a long time ago. Brushless and Lipo’s were not out yet. We had just enough steering to take the corner. You had to take the corners just right. Or you would come out wide and hit the wall. The guys that didn’t listen to us and kept full steering were all twitchy and never did good. Just my 2cents. Hope you read this!! I think your channel is great. Don’t listen to the babble!! lol 👍👍👍
Other people were having trouble it being uncontrollable out of the box. It was because The manufacturer had the gyro set backwards. Got to press the button on the side of the receiver twice to switch it around
Definitely a great looking car. I don’t think it would be a bad purchase for an experienced RC hobbies. But for a beginner? Probably look at a better known brand.
the gyro is usually set wrong on these cars , plus the tyres expand and scrape on the rear diffuser and body shell and crash the car well before top speed is achieved .
I race RC cars. But there is some set up work you should do. Make sure the ride height is not raked forward (level so the rear squats under throttle.) And make you have a little toe out in the front end. It helps make not feel so twitchy.
did they forget to glue them during manufacturing??? and that thing is getting some uplift at higher speeds.... probably need to lower it a little and tune the spoilers to give a little more push down at speed.
Happy new years rcsailers I. Think you should worry about what other people say and continue with the maidens there all great my favorite video is Nate flying the xk 100 helicopter where he learned to fly 3d that is my goal I've also got airplanes and cars and trucks but my favorite things are helicopters
if you want a cheap 10th scale on road car you can buy the cheaper HSP HISPEED GT ( all metal drive train ) . You can adjust body shell clearance height , rear tyres don't touch the rear diffuser , front of chassis doesn't interfere with front wheels , but if you want to trim body shell wheel arches for even more tyre clearance for your own piece of mind with proper modelling scissors , their body shell wheel arches are an easy trim , in case stock tyres may or may not balloon slightly when running 3S power . HSP HISPEED GT is cheaper better value than FTX STINGER / HNR PANTHER . HSP also has 15kg servo , hobbywing 3652 motor / hobbywing ESC . occasionally you may get a car where the ESC's maybe not exactly positioned perfectly straight exactly in the /middle of it's placement position , but is easy to get to and adjust with the hex ware bolts if you are OCD like me , and want exact placement to be straight exactly in the middle where the ESC is placed . But you got to remember they are half the price of a kyosho fazer mk2 VE version on road car , with similar chassis design .
Tires weren't glued properly that's a definite problem the glue goes on the bead inside the tire they glued them from the outside easy fix toss them and buy some new ones and glue them yourself and give the wheel wells a quick pass or 2 with the Dremel tool and a sanding drum also easy fix also looks like grabbing a gyro for some added straight line stability about 30 minutes of work total
usually cars this fast have a gyro to help control the steering at high speeds. i would investigate it. also the steering rate should be set low low. At least until you can keep it going strait.
Yeah definitely needs better softer tyres mate. Manufacturing fault on the tires and is it a rear wheel drive or 4wd ?. Because it's driving like a rear wheel drive

I remember those days of soaking the track with Hawaiian punch and rubbing tire compound on or foams
Me too. I ran carpet oval with foam tires. Then use a tire truer and cut them down to almost nothing. Plus a lot of tire traction compound!!
I think a dremmel on hand would be a good edc for you guys lol.
Dont forget to warm up the tires
That is true that super cold tires could perform really poorly. Do you think the warm car ride is enough or should they be even warmer for a speed run like this? ⚓️
I was thinking that too
@@TheRcSaylors yes, but more important is if there is a gyro it should be calibrated and also, steering sensitivity should be almost maxed out meaning it shouldn't allow the car to turn easily.
I think you y'all are doing an excellent job ❤
It’s not a bad car you have too reverse the gyro and it’s amazing after that. The gyro comes in the wrong direction. Don’t know why but that’s the whole problem. It’s a great car once you fix that. That’s why it spins out. And the tires are shit but you can get better ones and that improves it too. Give it another shot after you reverse the gyro.
I want this car but where do you get parts for it? I can't see any on Baggood or Aliexpress.
Thank you he did a Kevin Talbot I was hoping someone was gonna say this
The car is sexy as heck but it will need some upgrades for sure. And as for people who say you only say good things. We can see with our eyes that it was a dud. We can see all the flaws that happen in real time. Some people are just anger addicts and need to put others down. May you and your family have a happy and HEALTHY 2024!
Yeah I wouldn't want to buy something I know I'm immediately going to have to work on to get it to perform properly...
Happy new year guys 🎉
looks like some tire glue would help and maybe just 2 s.
I’d definitely keep this to 2S and would have probably avoided this. At least prolonged it. Thanks for tuning in!! 👍💯😎⚓️
I was waiting for u to put on the drift tires at least u definitely need to upgrade the wheels and tires.
You
I hate when English teachers comment on videos. Don’t U???
@@smoothrc28 "I hate IT when English teachers comment on videos" 8 out of 10. Unfortunately, you're still missing key words from your sentences. See me after class.
Why get this when you can get the Vendetta for $50 less??? lol
Because they already own one or two
@@Xofroggy no because they get paid to sell these if it is good or not that is not the point
Looks like awesome fun most repoed vehicle ever 🤣 great video 👍🏻👍🏻
Watch the video from Kevin Talbot.. he had two of these and found out the gyro was set backwards and had the same problems you are having
$250 for this… i personally will pass 👍🏻
Happy New Year’s Eve Nate & Abby!
Tyres expanded into the arches, nothing to apologise for.
It should be aTamiya hitting 50 mph.😂
the gyro mabe rong way . in uk it is a ftx
Great car guys
Don’t listen to the babble!! lol 👍👍👍
gyro need some attention.....
I think so for sure. It honestly seemed like the gyro wasn’t on at all! 🤔👍💯⚓️
Other people were having trouble it being uncontrollable out of the box. It was because The manufacturer had the gyro set backwards. Got to press the button on the side of the receiver twice to switch it around
Tomley and Talbot both had the same problem
Definitely a great looking car. I don’t think it would be a bad purchase for an experienced RC hobbies. But for a beginner? Probably look at a better known brand.
Happy new year !!
Lots of comments about reversing the gyro. Hope this is why its causing loss of control
I have a red cat tornado. All I did was I went to 1/8 scale street tires to increase the gearing and it will do 62 mile an hour in stock trim.
Ftx sell it as a 2s street drift car .no max speed on the box either
If you’d done your research you’d know what the problem is
the gyro is usually set wrong on these cars , plus the tyres expand and scrape on the rear diffuser and body shell and crash the car well before top speed is achieved .
He’s on Demon 😈 time!!!!
When I look at those things I feel like they are designed for large gymnasium floors or something.
I race RC cars. But there is some set up work you should do. Make sure the ride height is not raked forward (level so the rear squats under throttle.) And make you have a little toe out in the front end. It helps make not feel so twitchy.
Yea you gotta reverse the gyro. Idk why they come like that 😊
did they forget to glue them during manufacturing??? and that thing is getting some uplift at higher speeds.... probably need to lower it a little and tune the spoilers to give a little more push down at speed.
.....still like to see the Proboat JS back before winter sets in, there must be some flowing water near you by now
It’s the driver lol
Seems like a beast... just needs modifications...lift the body up. This car is definitely an 8 out of 10 trust me.
It's no blame game....the downforce in the front. and rear spoiler...i like the toy. any info about the MJX High speed???
Looks awesome...but 🤔🤔the lack of control....not sure....
You guys should look into reviewing some new Rlaarlo cars......also the ftx supaforza Gt 1/7
3s is out of control. I have this and it’s perfect for 2s.
seems like youre crashing every single model you reviewed recently eh?
Happy new years rcsailers I. Think you should worry about what other people say and continue with the maidens there all great my favorite video is Nate flying the xk 100 helicopter where he learned to fly 3d that is my goal I've also got airplanes and cars and trucks but my favorite things are helicopters
Like you mentioned, the back tyres are ballooning and hits the body
Yaaaaaasssssss more send! 🐈⬛
if you want a cheap 10th scale on road car you can buy the cheaper HSP HISPEED GT ( all metal drive train ) .
I wanted to see it with the drift tires. It may be a great drifter but well never know
Tires weren't glued properly that's a definite problem the glue goes on the bead inside the tire they glued them from the outside easy fix toss them and buy some new ones and glue them yourself and give the wheel wells a quick pass or 2 with the Dremel tool and a sanding drum also easy fix also looks like grabbing a gyro for some added straight line stability about 30 minutes of work total
Maybe some Foam tires would work really well on there....? Or some properly glued tires...? Good looking car though and a Fun drifter! 😁👍🏼
usually cars this fast have a gyro to help control the steering at high speeds. i would investigate it. also the steering rate should be set low low. At least until you can keep it going strait.
The gyro is backwards from factory, stupid f up on their part
I was hoping to see it with the drift tires
Yeah definitely needs better softer tyres mate. Manufacturing fault on the tires and is it a rear wheel drive or 4wd ?. Because it's driving like a rear wheel drive
Maybe foam tires on 3s
She might have started to tear but I guarantee you he tore it all the way
