    Omg my friend, I’ve been hoping my DT can record your live actions and you just showed that it can! I asked other YTers and they thought that couldn’t be done. So thank you! I’m referring to 9:50. Know if I can do that with the filter pass too?? Omg this is exciting!

    • @SlowHaste
      @SlowHaste  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, yes you can! It locks the value that the knob is at per step, so it isn't going to necessarily be a "smooth" change between values, but you can indeed record in the knob turn, I do it all the time.

      @@SlowHaste Ohhhh.. this isn't global parameters though right?

    • @neonpop80
      @neonpop80 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SlowHaste It doesn't seem to work properly when I try it with filters. Seems to record over the first bar twice. And these effects don't work over pattern chaining either. I guess it has its limits...

    • @SlowHaste
      @SlowHaste  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@neonpop80 awww no, you can’t parameter lock the ctrl all function :( I realized you also commented on another one of my vids to ask haha. It would be fantastic if that was a feature, but you can only record p-locks for one track at a time

    • @SlowHaste
      @SlowHaste  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@neonpop80 yeah every hardware certainly does have limits!! If you’re interested in more effects-centric/global parameter manipulation, the Octatrack really excels at that! I have some videos on my channel going over some of those features, too.

    i have never updated, but id like to. should i be worried about losing my projects and sounds? do i need to back them up first?

    • @SlowHaste
      @SlowHaste  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Backups are always a good call, but I didn’t have any issues (and haven’t heard of anyone else) when I did the update! It’s totally worth it IMO

  • @CarlColglazier
    @CarlColglazier 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I can never get the shutter speed right to avoid flicker on the Digi screens either.

    • @SlowHaste
      @SlowHaste  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh gosh yeah that’s a whole other issue, I think I’ve seen that in every DT video! My film light was actually flashing like crazy while I was shooting but you really can’t tell on the recording luckily

    Excellent vid! Curious-- there aren't any videos on this (from my searching). Can you connect a simple MIDI keyboard to the Digitakt (Keystep, etc), and record into the MIDI tracks in realtime (say, controlling a desktop synth like a Volca Keys)...? There are literally no videos about this. However, when people connect a keyboard to the Digitakt, they often play the audio tracks (1-8), or they input chords in step-time to the MIDI tracks. Any chance you could do a video showing how to connect a proper keyboard to record chords and melodies in real-time? I'm sure it will help a lot of Digitakt beginners or curious parties out there. Thanks! Subbed!

    • @SlowHaste
      @SlowHaste  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, thanks so much for watching/subbing! In all honestly, I haven’t connected any external gear to the Digitakt, aside from the Digitone recently. Admittedly, MIDI knowledge is something that I’m generally lacking in, in terms of hardware. That said, I believe Cuckoo has a bit of a MIDI crash course at the end of his Digitakt mega tutorial that may be of use (if you haven’t watched that already). And I agree, I’ve tried it look up what I thought was relatively basic MIDI stuff online and it can be hard as hell to find specific answers.
      Definitely let me know if you’re able to find anything that helps!

    looking for my first drum machine
    should i go for TR-8S or Digitakt?

    • @SlowHaste
      @SlowHaste  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve never used the TR-8S, but I will always support the Digitakt. That said, it might be a lot if it’s your first drum machine (unless your familiar with samplers/sequencing in general)! I’d definitely check out the manual before committing.

    I get 4-8x times the ads on this channel compared to Loopop, RMR, and Cuckoo.

    • @SlowHaste
      @SlowHaste  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the feedback! I was recently partnered and the TH-cam ads are auto placed on my videos, so I will have to take a look at the settings to reduce them.
