    The 5th and final tip is the best tip. Get out there and make something, even if you have just 15 minutes. Love it.

    I always love these "one layer deeper" type of videos that really show off some of the deeper aspects of an instrument.
    Great video as always Mr.Haste. :)

    A huge tip & trick for making the lfo BPM multipliers, to sync lfos properly in time with tempo... Is to set the rate speed of lfos at +or- at 1,2,4,8,16,32 or 64... Or 3,6,12,24 & 48 work for triplet & dotted note rate timings. This seems to be a tip that is missed about Elektrons lfos, but TH-cam is otherwise great for learning about other Elektron lfo tricks??? These are the magic numbers to keep mindful for using speed rates, in many Elektron products... For LFOs, delays, reverb pre delay times & modulation fx rates like chorus or phasers etc. These numbers will sync things to work in sync with your tempo... But the manuals shed little light on this insight too? I just got the octatrack mk2... I haven't got into reading the manual, but I'm surprised at how much of its lfo or fx rate speeds are simply in tempo sync. Because I know to use these numbers to try it!

    I love the demonstration of the side chain. What instrument(s) is that playing the C#- D -B-A lick in B minor? Beautiful sound and phrase…The side chain breathes a lot of emotion into it.

    • @SlowHaste
      @SlowHaste  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you! Are you talking about the recurring string-like theme? It’s from Baths’ Splice sample pack - the entire run is one sample, but I cut it up a bit so the phrasing fit. I believe it’s a loop of possible reversed guitar swells with some other strings doubling? I’m not certain, but I also love how it sounds!

      @@SlowHaste , beautifully put together sequence. I am now about 3 years in with the Digitakt, but am still trying to get the technical/menu switching and diving a little more embedded into my consciousness. It is…ahem, a somewhat enigmatic little beast, hey? I think I may have to finally treat it as a much more stand alone entity. Tip # 5. Always the golden rule of gear😃

    I found the tip about the compression especially useful, an area I knew nothing about, thanks. The fact we have a second LFO too since the last update opens up so many possibilities. It would be good to see how you use your 1010 Bluebox mixer one day, I have no mixer or good way of recording atm, so I'm on the look out (along with a good effects pedal for ambient music) :)

    Not a DT user (an aspiring one?) but I really enjoyed this. Is panning something that was added after launch? I seen to remember reading lots of bad press about this box for being mono but maybe I'm just confusing that
    I lose hours to my PO-33 and this seems like the grown-up version of it's features and workflow in a lot of ways

    • @SlowHaste
      @SlowHaste  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The Digitakt has always been a stereo instrument, but it can’t record or process samples in stereo. So if you sample an existing stereo track for example, it’ll get summed to mono. A lot of folks who like to sample long form stuff to trigger and manipulate/“dj” with it have an issue with that, which makes sense.

    • @Two-Eyed_Boy
      @Two-Eyed_Boy 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SlowHaste ah that's pretty big! I'm kind of interested in how this stands against the PO-33, all in all! I have a spare I'd send your way if you'd be willing to dive into that and return when research is done!

    Thank you very much for these wisdom pearls! I love the idea of panning on the digitakt, but as I'm someone who tends to play live in fairly DIY spaces, I can't guarantee that there will be enough DIs for me to go in stereo (as I usually play with several other musicians and DIs are in demand!) . As the L out isn't set up to be a default mono out, is there a way to change this? As I wouldn't want to programme a load of panning and then find out I can only use the left channel, which isn't the whole mix. Thank you again!

    • @SlowHaste
      @SlowHaste  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would have to consult the manual to confirm that, but another solution would be to save a copy of the project/pattern with neutral panning. That way you’d have a backup copy just in case you’re able to run stereo!

    Nice video, I think the additional LFO on the Digitakt is a game changer- it makes me want to go back and enhance a lot of tracks that I wrote prior to this upgrade. I have neglected the compressor features mostly, and your video has inspired me to utilize those parameters more. Are you using trigger locks in the sample pattern for the side chain effect?

    • @SlowHaste
      @SlowHaste  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you!! No trigger locks, the LFO is just set to “TRG” mode, so it resets with each active trig.
