The introduction is definitely why I am considering Howard law. Georgetown is just a recent example of the bias that plagues law schools across the nation. Definitely crossed them off my list, and keeping a close eye on t14 response to black students at their schools asking them to speak on the incident.
when you are a black person it's even more important to go to the best law school you can get into. there are SO many places where the only black people came from Harvard and Yale....
@@langstonmorrison1850 that's nice. what I said still stands. many of the TOP firms and the unicorn positions are reserved for black graduates at top 5 institutions. you can disagree all you want but I've heard it from black lawyers myself
Law school can be draining, but this makes me want to go here. Most laws schools train you to go to Big law and not to be a sjw and just practice law. Really makes me consider HUSL, I went to a hbcu for my freshman year and the financial aid made me leave cause I didn't have the resources to be able to wait on aid.
I thank you so much for this video! I’m in my junior year of undergrad and are narrowing down the choices in law school I would love to attend. Howard is one of them and you made it even more intriguing!
Lol I’m applying for law school this cycle and went to a PWI for undergrad post 2016 election in the SEC… You hit the nail on the head of just wanting to avoid racism in academia for a few years, the other mess that comes with life is already enough. Howard is my #1 choice for that exact reason.
@@uzer141 I got in but I got a lot more scholarship money from another school so now I’m debating it. Both law schools have the potential to put me where I want to be regionally so I’m trying to negotiate right now.
Hi, I really enjoyed your video. Do you have an email address where I can contact you to chat further? I’m applying to HUSL, and have a few questions. Hope to hear from you soon. Thank you.
I chose not to go to one for two major reasons 1. professional school is the best time to date and find a husband. law school at a place like Howard is like 80% women!! many black male professionals also choose to date very light women with a strong preference for white women statistically speaking. The best thing about dating at my law school is the amount of wealthy men available and the amount of prospects lol 2. RANKING!!! ranking matters. Howards graduating salary is half of that of a T-14 and they place very few people in big law, clerkships and academia bonus reason 3. you already talked about this but your life is much much much easier when you go to a top ranked law school. the grade system is better and your don't have to be top of your class to get a job
What school do you go to? Howard is the best law school for black attorneys, also their salaries are the same as t-14 lawyers who go into big law so that’s not accurate
@@bri5990 most of them do not go to big law. the average salary at Howard is under 80k. the average salary at every top 20 is 190k. the best law school for black attorneys is a t-14 LMAO. HOWAARD IS NOT TOUCHING THE T-14 in clerkships, big law, academia or graduating income sorry to burst your bubble. it is the best HB law school
@@bri5990 by the way everything I'm saying is public knowledge. you can literally look it up. if Howard was so much better it would be ranked in the t-14 don't ya think???
@@truthspeaker8863 alot of factors go into ranking, the salaries for Howard law grads are the same as those first year associates in Big Law. Many ppl go to t-14 and still cant get into Big Law. Every first year associate at a big law firm starts at the same salary if you didnt know it depends on the firm you go to. Also, Howard has a great alumni network and most of the professors are big law attorneys and partners with a lot of connections in the DC area. So please do your research
It's likely that you attended Howard University due to having a low GPA and LSAT score. I'm not convinced by the argument that your choice was solely based on your skin color.
They need to be paying you to be a spokesperson because you sold me! Thanks so much for sharing your experience!

Ari is one of the biggest reasons why I chose HUSL. Such an excellent resource!
Aww thank you love! You know I am here to help!
@@arimilan2091It's been years since you posted. Are you still with us?
Side note that has nothing to do with the video, I love how Howard’s law school is called “HUSL”
Thanks for Sharing your Experience Ari 💯🙏🏽 Currently working on my 2021 Law School Applications.
How did it go?!
Hope the application process went well. Would love to hear where you ended up going!

Interesting factors. Thanks for sharing your perspective. I know a few HUSL graduates and professors, namely Rogers and Minor

Absolutely!

I always found interesting how Big Law recruits at Howard like it’s a t14
Hay Ari can we get a update on how it’s going for u ? I know that your busy .
You’re selling tf out of husl for me 😭

Why is it nicknamed Hustle?
Not a fan of the name, but it's just an abbreviation for Howard University School of Law (HUSL not Hustle).
