- Updated version. The pre-recorded voice is a take I did in 2006 (late at night almost whispering to a Shure SM58). As I found it curious I decided to include this take into the video.
Also, I improved the previous DX7 take, replacing it with the JP8000.
Gear:
Upper Keyb: Roland JP8000
Mid: Roland D10
Low: Roland JX8P
Backtrack Recorded on Pro Tools.
Composed by Billy Currie, Christopher Payne and Midge Ure - เพลง
Devenir gris
Devenir gris
One man on a lonely platform
One case sitting by his side
Two eyes staring cold and silent
Show fear as he turns to hide
Aaah, we fade to grey (fade to grey)
Aaah, we fade to grey (fade to grey)
Un homme dans une gare isolée
Une valise a ses cotés
Des yeux fixes et froids
Montre de la peur lorsqu'il
Se tourne pour se cacher
Aaah, we fade to grey (fade to grey)
Aaah, we fade to grey (fade to grey)
Sent la pluie comme un été Anglais
Entends les notes d'une chanson lointaine
Sortant de derriere d'un poster
Espérant que la vie ne fut aussi longue
Aaah, we fade to grey (fade to grey)
Aaah, we fade to grey (fade to grey)
Feel the rain like an English summer
Hear the notes from a distant song
Stepping out from a back shop poster
Wishing life wouldn't be so long
Devenir gris
Aaah, we fade to grey (fade to grey)
Aaah, we fade to grey (fade to grey)
Aaah, we fade to grey (fade to grey)
Devenir gris
Aaah, we fade to grey (fade to grey)
Devenir gris
Aaah, we fade to grey (fade to grey)
Aaah, we fade to grey (fade to grey)
Devenir gris
Aaah, we fade to grey (fade to grey)
Aaah, we fade to grey (fade to grey)
Thanks
Thanks for lyrics

@@hermanmunster3358 some people don’t understand the lyrics or it’s sometimes hard to make out what they are saying. It’s really not that deep.
@@hermanmunster3358 Perhaps for those in the audience who don't speak English or French...?
I've watched this countless of times. What an amazing cover version played by this guy.
Respect
Thanks, Sir :)
I am perfectly happy that the song is still alive and is still a top song for me, and the man plays it as if he composed it himself. Hats off to you, you're top
Still the greatest music today. Thank you😊from🇸🇪
kermit singing , great !
still great play !
Omg ! Imagine kermit dancin too . .!
joshua caro
OMG!! Now I can’t un hear that 😩😩😩
LoL come to think of it ? It Doe's sound like kermit, but amazing to listen and watch to DX.
JX8P what a powerful sound!!!!
This is excellent, thank you. RIP Steve Strange.
You must have listened to the original hundreds of times to get this close, Bravo! Love it.
Indeed John. Thanks.
Absolutely brilliant. Good cover.
Seems like the 80s artists were far more creative with the "old" synth technology of the day. I suppose creativity has been replaced by technlogy so advanced that there's less need to be creative.......we therefore don't get anything that is as iconic as this song.....
Great cover by the way !!
Good way of putting it. Either that or they were just excited by the possibilities with this new venue. An artist may have all the tools in their possession, but if they aren’t inspired, if they’re bored with what they have..they fail to birth a progeny of the muse.
Excellent comment, so true!!
Exactly. It fits to the current time.
Je ne me lasse pas de ce cover !
super travail !
fantastic record long live your music R.I.P steve
DX5 a Master Keyboard Player, he makes it look easy, But you know it is not. I can watch the hands over and over again, a pleasure to watch and an education to those who love synths, and an eye opener to those who believe synths are easy.
0:51 - 0:52 this passage that this song has is the only thing that gives me goosebumps when i listen to music (all kinds of music)
Amo questo brano e questo lavoro è pazzesco...ho la pelle d'oca...
Absolutely love this version,amazing!
Brilliant cover! Thank you for this, brings back so many happy memories. You are a very talented musician!👍
The addition of French to the song was a master stroke by Midge Ure 👌🏻😎
Way ahead of its time was Fade to Grey but those cold synth sounds are so early 80s ! Synthbrittania at its very best
I fucking love this man!!! My most fave 80s song ever.
You’re so *lucky* to have the *talent* to play this!!!
well done you - Steve Strange would have loved your cover - RIP Mr Strange
RIP STEVE STRANGE.

I remember, back in the 80s, listening to this in the back streets of Folkestone, wishing life wouldn't be so glum...
Great rendition :)

Oh man, I listened this song a lot of times and i love it. Congratulations, It's a master piece.
I've listened to this 60 or so times can't get enough ...its a great sound !! I would like to hear this with a live band drums and guitar and bass
Best version!!! Awesome ☝️😲🙊
I admire the way you play these great synthesizers. When I have the opportunity, I watch your streams! There are a lot of cool covers on your channel, but this is very cool and unexpected. Thank you so much from the fans of synthpop and new wave from Moscow. I hope you will have the opportunity to come and play for us on the dance floor live!!!
Thanks Anatoly. I also like a band called Forum (Форум). Spasibo
@@DX5 The forum is a cool group. From the Russian synth of the 80s, I recommend listening to the Alliance (Альянс) , especially the song At Dawn (На заре), and the Technology (Технология) song Push the button (Нажми на кнопку), Strange Dances (Странные танцы). Of course, their songs are primarily based on vocals rather than synthesizers, but I'm sure you'll like it.
Amazing performance!! Really well done. Thank you for sharing.
These are a very simple notes yet it’s magical piece … you are brilliant
Wow, absolutely brilliant cover, sounds like the real thing, one of my favourite 80ies song, love it !!! Bravo !
Essa arrepia de verdade , vc viaja sem querer .....
You are really talented. I like how you played fade to grey on your keyboard.
The best cover version ever so good well played and the sounds were right on spot❤😊 Thanx a lot from TAO von Sweden.
I have to say vocals are awful though, It was just a test. And I decided to let the voice take in the backingtrack.
@@DX5 not so awful at all it sounded good to me in the mix. TAO VON SWEDEN
